HP: Let professors walk towards the light
Chapter 84 Eavesdropping
"If everyone is like you, the world will be in chaos. You were able to be reborn because your father modified the principle of forbidden magic and used his own magic power to bear the cost of reversing for you. And now, looking at your fragile soul, you will know that you have personally borne the cost of reversing at least twice. Next time, you will really die——"
Korra's eyes slowly moved towards the door, and Reina reacted quickly and waved her hand, causing the door to fly open.
Outside the door, two men, one black and one white, stood on the left and right.
Misent scratched his head and smiled awkwardly.
“You two…” Reina felt a little tired.
"Don't you know how to avoid others when they are talking, Rex?" Snape looked at him.
Missent opened his mouth in shock. He pointed at Snape and said loudly, "What? Severus, I didn't expect you to be this kind of person. It was obviously you who started it first-"
"Don't call me Severus," Snape interrupted.
"Hey, how much did you two hear?" Reina frowned slightly.
"I want to ask, what does it mean to really die next time?" Snape did not answer Lena's question, he asked back.
"It means—" Korra was about to explain.
"This has nothing to do with you." Lena avoided the question.
"I heard, 'for me'." Snape was in mixed emotions. When Reina knocked on the door, he happened to open the door and saw it. He originally wanted to ask Cora about the meaning of the words she said during the day, and by the way, see if this mysterious old witch could interpret his dream. Curiosity about this unknown girl prompted him to move forward and come to the door. The sound penetrated the spell and he heard the conversation between Cora and Reina word for word.
"What does that mean? What's an old man twenty years older than you worth?"
A shameful answer emerged in Snape's mind, and he suddenly felt a little angry. He was not an innocent child, but an adult man in his thirties. He would understand the meaning of those words.
Lena pinched her brows, feeling a little headache, "Nothing, you heard wrong, that's my business."
"Oh - really?" Snape strode towards Reina.
"It sounds to me like a fool with an IQ as low as the top of the Himalayas who did something self-touching for an old man old enough to be her father and is still immersed in morbid emotions. Of course, if not, then could Miss Tallos explain it for her elderly professor? In that case, I think I will apologize for my eavesdropping."
"Hey, isn't that a bit too much?" Missent walked to Snape's side and put some distance between him and Reina. "She is still--"
"She's still a child? Mr. Rex, I think you've heard it too. In terms of mental age, the person in front of you is older than you." Snape said coldly.
"I..." Misent slowly let go of Snape's hand. He did hear it. He just wanted to take the elf Lor to visit the manor castle. Unexpectedly, as soon as he went out, he saw the man in black in the daytime eavesdropping again. When he stepped forward and was about to stop him, he was attracted by the content of Rena's conversation. In the end, he was caught on the spot like some bad behavior.
“But you can’t use such language to mock a girl. Reina must have her own difficulties. You can’t understand other people’s lives.”
"So I just asked her to explain it to me. Is there any problem, gentleman who respects women?" Snape looked at him without changing his expression.
"Sorry. I don't want to argue with you right now, and I'm tired too, so can you stop asking?" Reina sat on the sofa, rubbing her temples. Cora waved and turned on the light in the room.
"Argue? I don't want to argue with you. In that case, then what questions should I ask you that will get you an answer? Chamber of Secrets, Riddle, Voldemort, Horcruxes, you've never given me an answer to these. Dumbledore trusts you unconditionally based on his intuition, but I'm not like that. I'm a sarcastic, inquisitive, and impatient person. Now, you don't even want me to ask a question like this. How good do you think my attitude will be?" Snape said in a calm voice.
Everyone present fell into silence.
"Perhaps, I can help you answer this question."
At this moment, Korra's light words successfully attracted everyone's attention, and she walked unsteadily to Reina and sat down.
"What do you mean? Do you really know everything?" asked Missent in surprise.
"Remember what I said, Snape?" Cora smiled meaningfully, "I can help you find what you lost."
"How do the two relate?" asked Snape.
"Once you get it back, you'll know what the connection is. But now you have to pay for it." Korra's eyes flashed with a sly look.
"I was a dark wizard who traded in the past. Otherwise, how do you think I would know all those messy forbidden ancient magics?"
"How about it, do you want to try it?"
Reina quickly stood up, took out her wand, and said, "What are you going to do to him?"
"Why are you so nervous? I've lived for more than a hundred years and I don't have the energy to calculate. What's more, I'm doing a deal with him now," said Cora.
"What do you want?" Snape stepped forward.
"Wait, Professor—" Reina stood between Cora and Snape.
"This is my business, and it has nothing to do with you."
Snape pushed Rena aside, and Rena tripped over the sofa. Misent quickly ran over to hold her up.
"That's too much, Snape." Misent's face turned gloomy.
Snape silently withdrew his hand from outside his robe and turned away without looking at him.
"Do you think I didn't want to tell you?" Reina said hoarsely, "Thirty-two years, until I just found out that my parents died because of me, and I so willfully failed their most sincere hopes for me, and almost lost myself in wasting the meaning of their death in such a long time."
"But you know, even if this is the case, I don't think what I did was wrong. I was willful and unreasonable, but I think it was right. As a Talros, I always insist on doing what I think is right, whether standing at the top of the crowd or falling into the abyss. This is the family motto of Talros. I am just a little...willful..."
"This is Talros. They won't think they are wrong. You are no different from your father and grandfather."
Korra stood up slowly, she walked to Reina and said, "Don't worry, kid, even though I didn't do anything good before, at least I did something good. This is just a small magic."
"Your things have returned along with her soul." Cora looked at Snape. "It's a great feat to be able to do this."
