HP: Let professors walk towards the light

The banquet lasted the entire night. After washing up, the children continued to stay in the auditorium in their pajamas. Even the professors were reluctant to go back to rest.

Hermione also returned to the party in the evening.

She told Harry and Ron what happened before she was petrified.

That morning, Hermione was going to watch Harry practice Quidditch with Ron. However, when she was going down the stairs, she saw a Slytherin student coming to the fourth floor and entering the women's toilet where Moaning Myrtle was. It was impossible for Hermione to ignore this obvious suspicion. She hid outside the door and heard the sound of water mixed with vague conversations. Hermione looked inside and saw two familiar people - Lockhart and Rena.

Lockhart pointed his wand at Reyna, and Hermione rushed in without a second thought.

"Expelliarmus!" She knocked Lockhart's wand away.

"What are you doing, threatening students, Professor Lockhart?" Hermione looked surprised.

"Miss Granger? Oh, how could I threaten a student? But, a Gryffindor would actually meddle in Slytherin's affairs?" Lockhart obviously didn't expect this.

"Then what are you doing with your wand pointing at Reina? Let me advise you, Herma Reina is Professor Snape's best student. Are you provoking Professor Snape?" Hermione said angrily, "Reina, are you okay? Did he not attack you?"

"Hermione, how could you..." Reina seemed to have not recovered from the shock.

"I think I should tell you the truth, Miss Granger." Lockhart was not in a hurry. He smiled and talked to Hermione. "I should tell you that the Slytherin you are protecting is the culprit who opened the Chamber of Secrets, petrified Mrs. Norris, and intimidated all the students of Hogwarts - the heir of Salazar Slytherin."

"What?" Hermione was somewhat shocked by the truth that Lockhart said. She said in disbelief, "Why should I believe you?"

"He's telling the truth, Hermione... I was the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets..."

Reina's soft voice completely froze Hermione in place, and she turned to look at Reina in shock.

"How can it be……"

“I opened it… I’m sorry, I’m sorry… I didn’t know, I didn’t know…” Reina covered her eyes with her hands and bent down.

Hermione looked at Rena's painful expression and felt that there must be something fishy about this matter. Rena would never harm anyone.

"You can't be Salazar's descendant, Rena. What happened? Tell me, I can help you, Harry, Ron, and Malfoy. Nothing is unsolvable. We can also go to Dumbledore." Hermione held Rena's shoulders with both hands and said softly.

"I don't know, I don't remember anything..."

"Don't be bewitched by her, Miss Granger. It was she who opened the Chamber of Secrets and released the basilisk!" Lockhart took the opportunity to pick up his wand and said loudly.

"She can't possibly..." Suddenly, Hermione seemed to have thought of something, "How do you know there's a basilisk in there? Even Professor McGonagall..."

Hermione turned sharply towards Lockhart.

"Everything is forgotten!"

"Fall to the ground!" At the moment when Lockhart's spell came over, Reina pushed Hermione away and cast a sleeping spell at Lockhart. The spells of the two exploded in the air, and a shock wave broke out, knocking the two to the ground.

"Reina!" Hermione quickly got up from the ground and ran towards Reina, but Lockhart blocked her way.

"Did you open the Chamber of Secrets?" Hermione asked alertly.

"Oh, how is that possible? I am Professor Lockhart. I cannot ignore the students of Hogwarts. The responsible Professor Lockhart caught the evil heir who was threatening the safety of the students. It's a pity that the student seemed to have been cast under some dark magic and became insane."

"You're dreaming!" There was no way Hermione would let Lockhart succeed, and she was thinking of how to hit him with one strike and then escape to inform the enemy.

The ground was covered with water, and ripples were coming from the corner, attracting the attention of both of them.

"What is that?" Lockhart asked.

So, Hermione, who was near the corner, saw a pair of huge yellow snake eyes on the water surface in the dark corner, and then she fell into darkness, and when she woke up, everything was over.

"Lockhart really likes to tell you all his plans before he makes his big move." Ron rolled his eyes with a look of disgust.

Ron and Harry then told Hermione everything that happened in the Chamber of Secrets.

"I really hate Lockhart now. I didn't expect him to be this kind of person!" Hermione slammed the table hard. "I really should hit him hard!"

"Come on, you almost died. You should be glad that you only saw the reflection and not the real Snake Eyes!" Ron was extremely scared and patted his chest.

Lockhart found that Hermione in front of him suddenly fell heavily to the ground for no apparent reason, her body stiff, and she had already escaped.

A rooster appeared out of nowhere in the corner and scared the snake monster back.

Draco, who was looking for someone, ran into the panicked Lockhart, and followed the direction Lockhart came from to the third floor, where he found the women's toilet full of water and two girls lying on the ground.

Dumbledore gave 100 points to each of the five students who entered the Chamber of Secrets, and 150 points to Harry who killed the basilisk, so Gryffindor interrupted Slytherin's winning streak and won the house cup.

This annoyed the Slytherin students a lot, some of them even shouted that it was unfair, and started arguing with the Gryffindor students across the table. The situation was just short of taking out their wands and starting a fight. It was probably partly because the professor was reluctant to leave the scene.

Lena knew that it was Dumbledore who delayed the house cup that should have been awarded to Harry last year until this year. He naturally pretended not to hear those unfair voices, and after the house cup was announced, all other matters were handed over to Vice-Principal McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall happily announced with regret that the Defense Against the Dark Arts class this semester would be cancelled, and Lockhart would no longer be able to teach the next semester. Although Professor McGonagall did not explain why, his bad behavior was already known to everyone. Lockhart's image plummeted, and many female students stopped being his fans. However, I believe that his true colors will be officially revealed to the public in the Prophet tomorrow morning.

Another good thing that made the students celebrate all night long was that Dumbledore cancelled the end-of-year exams for this school year, on the grounds that it would relieve the students' stress this school year. Of course, except for good students like Hermione, most people agreed with this.

Hagrid also rushed back in the early morning.

The banquet lasted until dawn and the students gradually dispersed. The next day, the professors naturally gave the students a day off.
