HP: Let professors walk towards the light

Chapter 53 Slytherin, Chamber of Secrets, and Malfoy

"Do you think we should let Reina know about the noises I can hear?"

In the library, Harry whispered.

"No, you can't," Ron answered without hesitation.

"I told you that even in the wizarding world, hearing voices that no one else can hear is never a good sign."

"But, Reina said she wanted to be with us. Wouldn't it be more convenient to tell her about this?" Hermione said.

"But what if this is really related to Slytherin? Not only will we be in trouble, but even Hermalena, that Parkinson said that she relied on Malfoy to gain a foothold. If it is related to Malfoy, what will she do?" It was the first time that Ron thought about others.

"Perhaps it has nothing to do with Malfoy," said Harry.

"But we can't be sure, can we?" said Ron.

"We can go and make sure."

Harry and Ron looked at Hermione who had spoken.

"The next class is History of Magic. We can start by asking Professor Binns about the Chamber of Secrets."

"And then?" Harry asked.

"Wouldn't it be enough to find out whether the heir is related to Malfoy?"

"How do we find out?" Ron asked again.

At this time, the preparatory bell rang, and several people hurried to the History of Magic classroom with their books.

"we'll talk about it then."

History of Magic is the most boring course of all the courses. The most interesting thing in the class is that Professor Binns, the teacher, walks through the blackboard into the classroom, because he is the only ghost teacher in the school. He is very old and is said to have been there since the founding of the school. However, one day he left his body in the office during class as usual, and his life has never changed since then.

Today was just as dull and boring.

When the classmates were drowsy, Hermione successfully attracted everyone's attention - she raised her hand directly to ask Professor Binns about the Chamber of Secrets. Even though Professor Binns did not want to get involved in topics such as legends and myths, he firmly believed that the History of Magic told facts.

However, Hermione argued that the legend was based on facts. Facing the expectant eyes of the whole class, Professor Binns finally compromised and slowly spoke out.

Hogwarts was founded more than a thousand years ago by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. In order to protect wizards and witches from being persecuted by Muggles who were afraid of magic, they came here to build a castle and educate young people with magical talents.

However, gradually, Slytherin and others had different opinions, believing that Muggle-born students were not trustworthy and were only willing to accept children from pure magical families, the so-called pure-bloods.

Because of this, Gryffindor and Slytherin had a big fight over this matter, and Slytherin ran away.

As for the Chamber of Secrets, there are only rumors that Slytherin built it in the castle. No one knows where it is, and no one knows how to open it. Because he sealed the Chamber of Secrets, only the true heir of Slytherin can open the Chamber of Secrets, release the evil hidden in it, and eliminate all those who are not worthy of being taught magic.

And that kind of evil could only be mastered by Slytherin and his heir.

"Of course, this is just a myth. It doesn't exist at all. There is not a shred of evidence that Slytherin built the Chamber of Secrets. This is a silly, untrue legend. We should get back to the hard facts!"

Professor Binns interrupted all the objections and questioning voices, and soon the whole classroom returned to its previous decadence.

……

"I thought Salazar Slytherin was just a perverted old lunatic," Ron said to Harry and Hermione as they were having their usual frolic in the corridor after class.

"But I didn't expect that he was the ancestor of that bunch of pure-blood trash. I won't stay in a place like that. If the Sorting Hat puts me in Slytherin, I'd rather take the train home directly."

Hermione nodded. Harry said nothing.

Harry had never told anyone that when the hat was put on his head during the sorting, a voice told him: "There is no doubt that Slytherin can help you succeed..."

It was only because he heard that Slytherin had produced many dark wizards and had a bad reputation, so he strongly opposed it. Finally, the Sorting Hat relented and assigned him to Gryffindor.

"Harry, Harry!"

"Hello, Colin." Harry greeted the voice instinctively as soon as he heard it.

"Harry - Harry - there's a boy in my class who says you're -"

"Goodbye Harry--" Colin was pushed away by the crowd because he was too small.

"What did a boy in their class say you were?" Hermione asked.

"That I'm the heir of Slytherin." Harry could fully imagine that, but his heart sank a little more.

"What a joke, these people believe anything." Ron said with disgust.

When the crowd slowly dispersed, they returned to the scene of the incident, where they were sure to find something.

Burnt marks, spiders crawling out in groups, and the ground mopped clean of water...

"Here, next to this door." Ron walked to the door, reached out to open it, and then suddenly retracted his hand.

"This is the ladies' room, you can't go in," Ron said gruffly.

"Oh, Ron, there's no one in there. This is the place where Myrtle cried as I said." Hermione walked forward, opened the door, and they walked in together.

This is a place that is completely different from other bathrooms because it is particularly dark and depressing.

They found Myrtle who was crying and asked her if she had noticed anything different, but Myrtle was so mad at Peeves that night that she didn't see anything.

The three of them were still discussing this matter that night, and Ron always thought it was Malfoy, because their whole family was Slytherin, and Malfoy had even wanted to call Hermione a Mudblood before, and he was the first one that night to say "some people need to pay attention", which was obviously a hint of something.

"But Reina's family is also Slytherin." Hermione retorted

"I see. He must think we are too close to Hermalena, and Hermalena is helping us, so he hates us." Ron whispered, and suddenly his eyes widened.

"Damn it, he doesn't like Hermalena! Oh, that must be the case. He helped Hermalena gain a foothold in Slytherin, but for some reason Hermalena always showed kindness to us, so he wanted to drive us away, drive away those Muggle wizards and half-blood wizards."

Ron seemed to have discovered a new world. It seemed that there was no need to confirm whether Malfoy was the heir. Hermione suddenly felt that she was about to be convinced.

"Will the Malfoy family accept someone who is close to Muggles?" Harry looked unconvinced.

"You don't understand. Love is very magical, okay? Maybe that's why Malfoy opened the Chamber of Secrets and released evil!"

Ron shook his finger at Harry with an I-have-seen-it-all expression on his face.

"But how did he know how to open the Chamber of Secrets?" asked Harry.

"Maybe there's some ancestral key or something, passed down from generation to generation for centuries!" said Ron.

"Well, it seems... it does... make some sense." Hermione said

"It's just speculation, we have no evidence." Harry slouched.

"This is what I was going to say!" Hermione moved closer to the two of them and said slowly, "But this is not easy to do and is very dangerous. We may violate at least fifty school rules..."
