HP: Let professors walk towards the light

Chapter 192 Night Visit to the 8th Floor

"There are powerful detection spells and tracking spells on it, Merlin's lace pants! Was it invented by your father and his friends? It even perfectly integrates concealment magic, and it's a long-lasting magic prop. It's incredible!"

Hermione's somewhat excited voice brought Harry back to his senses. He then pretended to remain calm and focused again on the Marauder's Map, another thing left by his father that was praised by many people.

At this time, Hermione was observing the Marauder's Map, and Lena also came over. In a trance, she seemed to see a familiar name moving somewhere else, but when she went to look for it again, she lost the place. However, this fleeting moment did not cause much waves among the densely packed names.

"But, my friends, there's nothing special about the eighth floor. Our lounge is on the eighth floor, and there's no room on that floor where you can hide anything. He wouldn't hide directly in the headmaster's office or Professor Flitwick's office, would he?"

Ron reminded everyone that the eighth floor was where the Gryffindor Common Room was located, which led directly to the Gryffindor Tower behind the main tower. In addition, there was Professor Flitwick's office, which was also connected to the West Tower where the Owl Shed was located, but it also required entering Professor Flitwick's door, so students rarely went there to go to the West Tower. The remaining huge headmaster's office was even less likely to be a place for the You-Know-Who to hide things.

"Look, there's nothing else here except those empty classrooms we're familiar with." Ron pointed to the map and circled the area on the eighth floor.

"Why don't we check out the empty classrooms tonight? Tomorrow is the weekend anyway. With the map we should be able to avoid the patrols of the professors on duty, right?" Hermione made a good suggestion, at least it was what Lena thought.

So, in the expectation of mysterious blessing, the night covered the disguise of Hogwarts like a curtain, and the moon tonight seemed to cover their plans and hide in the thick clouds.

Reina climbed up the stairs one by one and reached the eighth floor.

Reina turned around after feeling someone patting her on the back, and saw three more people in the empty corridor.

"Not very good news. For some reason, Professor Sprague was supposed to be on patrol today. She is always very tolerant on the nights before the weekend, but now Professor Snape has taken over. When you came up just now, we saw that your name and his name almost bumped into each other. You can't imagine how nervous we were."

Hermione pulled Reina and whispered, leading the few people to a hidden place.

Harry and Ron put their heads together and stared at the movement on the Marauder's Map. It was late at night, so the map must have become much blanker during the day. Most of the small black dots were concentrated in the four student dormitories. For example, on the eighth floor of the main tower, besides them, there was only Professor Flitwick who was sitting motionless in his office. (Principal Dumbledore was not in the principal's office at this time)

"It's okay, Hermione. He's been hanging around the fourth floor since a while ago. He probably met Peeves. He won't come to the eighth floor for the time being." Ron waved his hand as if he was shooing away an unimportant fly.

“Reina, we actually looked at the empty classrooms here before you came, and to be honest, there’s nothing particularly noteworthy.”

Harry looked at Rena and handed her the Marauder's Map.

"Remember the secret room, guys?" Lena pointed to the bathroom on the second floor, where Myrtle's name could be seen moving slightly. Her finger moved directly from the bathroom to the Black Lake.

"You mean, there's a hidden chamber?" Hermione caught the point very quickly.

"Although there are many secret passages here that we have never discovered, we also know the secret rooms that are not on the map, right?"

"Don't—" Ron said with some resistance.

"What if we run into an heir with the Eagle accent or the Badger accent? Who can stand a pet that has lived for a thousand years? Wait, don't you think what I said makes sense? We are looking for Ravenclaw's things, right? What does Ravenclaw raise? An eagle? It shouldn't be a thunderbird, right? A thunderbird that big can't fit in..."

Listening to Ron's mumbling, Hermione rolled her eyes silently and pulled Reina into the nearest empty classroom.

"Ron, don't scare yourself and just follow them." Harry patted Ron on the back symbolically as encouragement.

There are not many classrooms on the eighth floor of the main tower, and unlike other floors which are cluttered with miscellaneous items, there are even empty classrooms with nothing but dust.

As the night grew darker, Ron had to teach Harry to speak Parseltongue, but after a thorough investigation, they found nothing except two vixens and a suspected underage Boggart.

(The reason why I say it is underage is that it turned around the three people for a long time but couldn't figure out what it was doing. It disappeared before Hermione used the Banishing Spell, which dispelled the slightest hope that Reina had.)

"To be honest, I was starting to get scared. I didn't expect that the Boggart that eats fear could be timid." Ron became confident again.

Before they knew it, they had walked into the corridor with a tapestry showing a giant beating a fool named Barnabas with a stick.

Lena looked at the tapestry. As an insider, you will find that compared with other places, there are no extra photo frames here. There is only this funny and illogical tapestry in the whole corridor. The huge tapestry is almost the same size as the door. It is a somewhat obvious hint trick. It depends on whether you are interested or not.

“I think this place is a bit weird, too.”

Hermione on the side also looked at the tapestry. Hiding doors behind tapestries was a common method in the Muggle world. She reached out and began to feel around.

At this moment, Ron and Harry suddenly ran over.

"Super bad news!" Ron shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Snape is coming up! Oh my God, he appeared on the eighth floor just after I stopped looking at the map. We need to hide, Hermione!"

"There's nowhere to hide in this corridor. We need to get out first," Hermione suggested.

"I'm afraid that won't work. This is a dead end. We'll definitely run into Snape if we go out the way we came. He's right outside. In fact, it's worse. He's starting to come this way."

Harry held the map, thinking frantically. Although he brought the invisibility cloak, if it was in the first year, it might be able to cover him, Ron and Hermione. But now they have grown a lot taller, and it is difficult to cover two of them, not to mention Rena...

In the corridor around the corner, Snape's name was getting closer and closer. Is there any place to hide nearby?

"Friends, what should we do now? Wait to be caught?" Ron pursed his lips. Although he didn't want to admit it, he had indeed begun to think about the content of the confinement.

"I hope I won't be expelled..." Hermione muttered.

"Hey! Look here." Reina stood at the wall opposite the tapestry, looked at everyone, and pointed behind her.

"What? I promise there was nothing here just now, what's going on?" Hermione opened her mouth in surprise, and she pulled Ron beside her and ran over.
