HP: Let professors walk towards the light
Chapter 182 Grindelwald
To be on the safe side, Snape handed a letter to Dumbledore when he and Reina set off for Germany. If there was no news from them before school started, Dumbledore would have to go and rescue them. Although he could fight a few people himself, safety was the most important thing.
Snape and Reina used the international Floo network, and when they arrived in Germany they took a local wizard bus to the old house in Talros.
The area here is about the same size as the villa in the UK, and even the appearance is somewhat similar, if you exclude the overgrown weeds and some broken wood.
The villa is very close to the Muggle community, but the surrounding area is cast with Muggle-repelling spells.
"In fact, this house can still be lived in after being cleaned up. My father has never thought of selling it and I don't care much about it. I only came here once when I was a child."
Reina pushed open the iron gate outside the villa, and Snape also noticed that there were withered vines that had been destroyed under the iron gate. They must have been left behind when Lucius came.
"Remove the weeds." Lena simply cleared the weeds on the road. After the weeds were cleared, only some scattered flowers were left. It seemed that she could still imagine the beauty of the flowers here long ago.
A wide stone path leads to the main entrance of the villa.
Snape looked around and didn't find anything suspicious, so he walked into the villa with Lena.
Pushing open the door, the empty hall was grey and the house, which had never been maintained, looked particularly desolate, with spider webs everywhere.
The raised dust made Lena cover her mouth and nose. There was dust when the door was opened, and footprints were left on the floor when stepped on. There were no extra marks on the door handle leading to the room, which showed that no one had been here in a short period of time.
"It seems like we have to wait." Lena looked at Snape who was also looking for something suspicious.
"The worst outcome is that we have been targeted since we set foot in Germany, but the other party does not care about time, which means that even if we come back for the appointment after a few years, it won't matter to the person who wrote the letter." Snape touched the dust on the door handle, then waved his hand, and an invisible force gently pushed open the door to the backyard.
"Better follow me, Reina."
Snape walked into the back garden as he spoke. Even though he didn't find any signs of other people having been here, it didn't mean that this place was necessarily safe. He also had a bad feeling that the other party was definitely not a small person.
While thinking this, Snape stopped and did not hear the sound of Rena catching up. He turned around and saw Rena still standing there. When he was about to call her again, he found that Rena staggered.
"West……"
Just a few seconds ago, as Snape opened the door, Lena's eyes suddenly went dark and a strong feeling of dizziness came over her in an instant. Before she could call out to Snape, she had lost consciousness.
"Hemalena!"
Seeing that Reina had completely lost her balance, Snape took a big step forward and caught Reina steadily, preventing her from falling to the ground.
Seeing the person in his arms with her eyes closed, Snape knelt down to support Rena's body, and gently patted Rena's face to try to wake her up.
Damn it. Snape cursed inwardly, clenched his wand in his hand, and cast a protective spell around the two of them, while being wary of his surroundings.
But immediately afterwards, Snape was also hit by a dizziness in his brain, and the heavy eyelids swallowed up Snape's consciousness in a very short time.
Snape turned his hand back, raised the wand that had turned into a sharp blade and stabbed it into his thigh in an attempt to use the pain to wake himself up, but the expected pain did not come, only darkness merged in front of his eyes.
?
"Uh……"
The belated pain in his leg instantly cleared his mind the moment Snape woke up slowly.
He held his head and opened his eyes. The dizziness had completely disappeared. He sat up from the ground with his wand lying beside him.
"Rena..."
Rena, who was not far away, seemed to have no signs of waking up. Snape quickly took out a bottle of distilled essence from his inner robe. The wound caused by the cane blade was not big, just a little deep, so distilled essence was more than enough.
Snape hurried to Rena's side, gently helped her up, and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she did not look uncomfortable.
Only then did he have time to look around this strange room. It was extremely dark all around, but he could barely see its general appearance. The only source of light came from the floor-to-ceiling windows, but the scene outside the window made Snape frown.
The wound on his leg clearly told him that he was still within today's time. However, today was a sunny day with no clouds in the sky, but it was extremely gloomy outside the window, making it difficult to judge the time. Moreover, it seemed that the terrain at this location was not low, and was even very high.
"Sif..."
Noticing the movement in his arms, Snape withdrew his gaze, his face full of worry. He pushed Reina's hair behind her ears and asked softly, with exceptional tenderness.
"It's me, Reina. Are you okay? Are you feeling unwell?"
Reina sat up straight and shook her head, but Snape still knelt on one knee on the ground, holding Reina in front of him with some concern.
"What happened? I just remember feeling suddenly dizzy." Lena held Snape's hand and comforted him calmly.
"There was no magical attack, nor was it caused by volatile potions, but... unfortunately I don't know either." Snape had to admit that he didn't know what was going on. Even the pain couldn't keep him awake for even a second.
"It hasn't been long since I woke up. Do you have any impression of this place?"
Following Snape's words, Lena turned and looked out the window.
The mountains in the distance seemed to be at the same height as the soles of my feet, with wisps of white mist floating in the air. There were no other buildings, and no conspicuous vegetation around. Everything was gray and white, and even the sky was a suffocating dome.
You may feel quiet, but before that you will definitely feel melancholy. It is hard to imagine that there are houses in such a place.
“Never…” Reina’s voice was a little dull.
"Of course you haven't been here." An old and weathered voice suddenly sounded from behind the two of them.
The two turned around quickly and saw an old man standing at the door. No one heard when the door was opened. His face was full of traces of time, his long hair was messy and seemed to have not been taken care of for a long time, his sunken eyes had no emotions, and his clothes were a little tattered, but even so, his aura was enough to prove that he was not an ordinary person.
"This is a place that belongs to me alone." The old man walked in slowly, went to the window, and reached out his hand to touch the glass in front of him.
"So where is this place?"
Reina and Snape stood up, their eyes following the old man's movements. Hearing this, Reina chose to ask politely.
“Hmph—” The old man just chuckled and then turned around.
"Austria."
Even... how did they do it outside of Germany? Snape took a step forward and naturally put his arm in front of Reina.
"Don't be so nervous. Even if I don't have a wand, it would be easy for me to kill someone here if I wanted to. By the way, I did write the letter, but it wasn't me who brought you here, it was your grandfather."
The old man said this while looking at Reina.
"My grandfather? May I ask who you are first?"
"You must have heard of me - my name is Grindelwald, Gellert Grindelwald."
