HP: Let professors walk towards the light

Chapter 141 Snape's Memories 16

I brought the truth serum, Dumbledore called Fudge and the Aurors, the Heads of House also gathered here, and of course the Weasleys.

As expected, it was Hermalena who uncovered it, using the Marauder's Map. She said she accidentally ran into the Weasley twins playing with it, and borrowed it from them, but discovered that the dead appeared in Hogwarts. The reason was a bit far-fetched, but it was impeccable.

Here, after taking half a bottle of truth serum, Peter Pettigrew confessed everything that needed to be said. He leaked the secret, took the blame, and lived a shameful life.

Guys like Potter and Black actually believed this shifty-looking guy. How stupid!

"Dumbledore, I don't doubt the authenticity of the truth serum, you know, I just want to understand the child's origins for the sake of rigor."

"Child? Excuse me, Minister Fudge, are you talking about Talros?" I walked over to Dumbledore.

"It's just a procedure," said Fudge.

"As I said, she is just an ordinary student with excellent grades. She even has no father or mother. It is not worth your careful investigation. If you really cannot accept that a child overturned the case from ten years ago, you can tell others that it was I who discovered it." Dumbledore said helplessly.

"Can't accept it? No, that's not my question. The point is, how can an orphan know so much about what happened back then?"

"Carefully? Do you mean remember the name of a Merlin Second Class Medal winner who was once published in the Daily Prophet? Peter Pettigrew, I think this name is not that difficult to remember. Although Talros is an orphan, he is also a pure-blood wizard who grew up in the wizarding world. Isn't he a Slytherin who pursues fame and fortune?"

"Snape, it's just an investigation."

Fudge seemed very unhappy that I had interrupted his confrontation with Dumbledore, but I have to say that his reasons for doubting Hermalena were ridiculous.

"Does the so-called investigation you mention mean taking my students away? This matter is not worth your being so sensitive about." Dumbledore was a little annoyed.

"Sorry, I didn't hear it clearly. Is the Ministry of Magic going to take Hermalena away?" I looked at Fudge.

"I said it was just a suggestion." Fudge.

Since it was just a proposal, I just opposed it. After giving Dumbledore a look, I didn't participate in their conversation anymore. Hermalena stood aside alone, looking nonchalant, as if everything had nothing to do with her.

She turned her head, noticed my gaze, and looked at me quietly.

My intuition seemed to be urging me to say something...

"H..."

"Talros." Before I could say anything, Mag had already walked over and said something to her. Hermalena bowed slightly and walked out of the principal's office.

I was kept back, and the matter was discussed over and over again. By the time I left the principal's office, it was already late at night, and the result was still the same.

Of course I couldn't just leave like that. I still had to act like a fool who knew nothing, controlling my emotions and choosing my words carefully.

If I were to repeat these bad things over and over again like Hermalena, I can’t imagine what I would become.

Hermalena is very good. No one knows what she has been through and how much she has paid, not even me. Without knowing the reason for her rebirth, she has persisted to this day.

Severus Snape, perhaps you are wrong.

Hermalena will not change because of what I said. Her behavior of exposing Peter just proves that she is not a casual person.

The look that Hermalena gave me was too complicated for me to understand. I couldn't interpret her thoughts in those brief two or three seconds, and probably even Legilimency wouldn't be able to understand it.

I'm wrong.

I shouldn't have watched Hermalena leave. Perhaps I should have called her the moment she turned around.

I shouldn't have said those words to Hermalena. Pushing her away was the most unwise choice. I thought I pushed her out of the darkness and into the light, but that was just what I thought. No one knew if it was a pile of man-eating fire, except Hermalena.

I actually wanted to use that situation to my advantage, just like breaking up with Lily.

No wonder people call me despicable.

I should have realized that since she came to me, it would be impossible for her to completely get away.

Perhaps I should keep my word. After all, that person is me, Severus Snape, no matter what.

The next day when the students left school, I went to the Hogwarts Express platform. Among the bustling students, I saw Hermalena at a glance. She got on the train and sat by the window of the Malfoy box with Draco and the others. I don't know what she was thinking about, just in a daze.

As the train started moving, Dumbledore found me.

"Severus, if you are facing any problems, perhaps you can tell me about it."

The sensitive old bee, did it notice something?

"There is no problem that cannot be solved. There is still a long way to go." Seeing that I didn't answer, Dumbledore continued to talk about moral issues.

"Peter Pettigrew will be sent to Azkaban. Sirius Black's case will be retried at noon today. I guess you won't go either. Some work still needs to be handed over to you."

"I see. In other words, instead of coming here to worry about me, you should think about Potter's matter. After all, some people are not so patient after they get out. I will take care of the Horcrux matter."

"The Horcrux issue is of course important, but it is not something that you alone can handle. Therefore, you do not need to look after it. In my opinion, you should have more important things to do. We can take our time. I will also investigate Voldemort's matter. Victory will eventually belong to the one with more chips."

Chips? I didn't expect Dumbledore to use such a word.

"Then I hope it goes as you wish and that everything doesn't end in failure."

In July, I went to many places and met many people according to Dumbledore's arrangements, and did some trivial things for him to form cliques. Not long ago, I heard that Potter followed Black to Grimmauld Place. He hated that Muggle family so much that he couldn't wait.

Not long ago, Dumbledore said that he had seen Hermalena at Grimmauld Place. By the time I learned the news, three days had passed, so of course I hadn't run into her. I didn't know what she had done or what she had planned. It was really unexpected that Black would agree to let a Slytherin enter his home.

I thought about it for many days and finally decided to go to Tallos Manor to meet Hermalena.

I wanted to send a letter so that I could enter the manor directly from the fireplace, but Hermalena did not reply to me and the fireplace line was closed. This was abnormal, so I could only follow the method she taught me before and pass through the confusion area to the gate of the manor.
