HP: Let professors walk towards the light

Chapter 139 Snape's Memories 14

It's winter now, and the weather has been getting colder recently.

Ever since I put Hermalena in detention, she has become a frequent visitor to my office, coming here from time to time. I am no longer surprised to find students in my office when I open the door. Sometimes they are preparing potions, doing homework or practicing spells, or even taking over the potions that I have not completed due to time constraints, or replenishing Pomfrey's medicine store for me.

Before I knew it, my place had become Hermalena's second home.

Of course, I did think about saying a few words to her, but it was just a thought. It was better for her to be here than to stay in the dormitory alone and think of weird ideas. As for those weird spells she cast, it would be safer if she stayed in the room.

However, she came less frequently in the past few days. Just when I thought she had a change of heart and finally stopped disturbing her busy professor, Flitwick came up to her.

"Snape, you really should come over and take a look, something's happened to the students!"

Because of my suggestion, Flitwick successfully got an extra hour of work every day, which was to be on duty in the Dueling Club, but now, he came to me in a hurry. An ominous premonition crept up on me, and his first reaction was that Hermalena had done something stupid that shocked Merlin again.

I followed Flitwick all the way to the hospital wing, and I couldn't imagine what had happened to make Flitwick so panicked.

McGonagall and Sputlow also rushed over. Dumbledore looked helpless. The medical wing was full of people, some lying on the beds and some sitting on the chairs. He looked around the medical wing and saw Hermalena standing there.

Flitwick explained with great enthusiasm, but I really underestimated this Potter. I thought I could spend this semester quietly, but he actually broke into the Chamber of Secrets with his students again?

I looked at Hermalena, but saw that she looked innocent. This had nothing to do with her?

?

"So, what happened?"

Finally, I called Hermalena to my office. It was impossible for her to be innocent among those troublemakers.

"I wasn't the one who entered the secret room, and I wasn't the one who killed the monsters. What does it have to do with me?"

"Well, how did Potter know about the Chamber of Secrets? How did you realize that you were a Parseltongue? Do you know how dangerous this is? Don't think you know everything and can break through everything with your childish mind."

I was particularly angry at Hermalena's reckless behavior. She didn't take what I said to heart and didn't discuss anything with me. This was the most annoying thing.

Hermalena stared at me quietly without answering me immediately. I thought she understood what I meant, but she suddenly turned her head away and disappointment flashed in her eyes.

“I never thought I knew it all.”

“It’s never a spur-of-the-moment thing.”

Hermalena's eyes turned red.

I know what she means.

To be honest, in the past thirty years or so, I have never encountered such a difficult character as Hermalena, never.

Forgive me for not being able to understand, but this is the fact.

In the past, no matter who did this, I would probably reward her directly with a bottle of forgetfulness potion. Of course, in all my years of teaching, this has never happened before.

But Hermalena is an exception, and she has experienced...such a thing.

No matter what, I can't do anything to erase her memory. But I can't really stay away from her and pretend she's invisible. This will not help her and will only leave her fighting alone. Who knows what crazy thing she will do next?

She didn't even think about getting an answer. No matter what the answer was, it didn't matter to her. She just wanted a result.

Besides, she understands me better than I understand her.

"There is no point in doing this. It will only bring you misfortune."

I turned sideways and looked at the rows of potions on the cupboard.

"I don't think it's unfortunate," she answered me quickly.

“Blind optimism.”

"I'm just saving the unfortunate."

Rescue is a joke!

"Are you an idiot? After you died, you shouldn't have come to Hogwarts again. The farther away from Potter the better. You shouldn't have gotten involved in this mess again! And you want to be a Death Eater? Do you really think you have the ability to replace Potter and be the savior to save the world?

Let me tell you, you are just arrogant and think you have enough capital to squander. The reality is very cruel. The game of playing house should be over. Or do you really think that they will be grateful to you for saving them, and then they will give you the Order of Merlin after your death, and write it in the history books for future generations to read, just like Dumbledore who defeated Grindelwald? Don't forget how you died. If I were to ask you, you are nothing more than an arrogant and conceited waste. "

I yelled and vented my negative emotions without considering Hermalena's feelings. I just said it bluntly, just like I always did.

Hermalena looked at me with astonishment in her eyes, good, that's it.

"You still think I'm trying to save the world? What a joke! Do you think I've never thought about leaving? You really forget things easily. Don't forget that your name is signed on my admission feedback form." She was a little angry.

"I really deserve it. I should have done as you said. Maybe I could even cast a spell on myself to end it all! Savior, huh, that really disappoints you. I never wanted to be a hero. Who do you think I am doing this for, Harry Potter? He is just a weapon raised by Dumbledore. No matter how powerful he is, what does that have to do with me?

Everything I did was for you, Severus Snape. You are just a fool who likes to wrap guilt in love! It’s wonderful to be immersed in your own world, right? What qualifications do you have to criticize me? Do you think I don’t know? Who traded everything with Dumbledore just to protect the son of Lily Evans? Who would rather take on everything to be a double agent? Who would look into Potter’s eyes before dying? You are a guy who can only be moved by yourself. What qualifications do you have to judge my behavior! "

It was not difficult to see that she was trying hard to suppress her anger, and her pair of red gray eyes were staring at me.

That's right, smart girl, just as you said, I am such a rotten scum, not worthy of any qualifications to accuse or even abuse you, so, Hermalena, take out your wand, cast a curse at me and then turn away, never look back, stay away from these troubles that have nothing to do with you, leave here, leave me.

Hermalena, I look forward to your bright future, and Merlin will bless you.
