Qi Tongwei is a police officer who just graduated. He is passionate and has a sense of justice. One day, he received a mysterious phone call. A low and hoarse voice came from the other end of the phone: "Officer Qi, there is something you must know. There have been several mysterious disappearances in the forest in the town recently. Those people seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth."

Qi Tongwei's heart tightened, and he asked hurriedly: "Who are you? Why are you telling me this?"

"You don't need to know who I am. You just need to know that if you don't deal with it quickly, these disappearances will only increase." The other party hung up the phone.

Qi Tongwei had his doubts, but he knew he couldn't just sit back and do nothing. He contacted his partner, Officer Wang, and the two decided to go to the forest to investigate overnight.

The forest at night was shrouded in an eerie silence, and the occasional bird calls were creepy. The two men's flashlights shuttled between the trees, searching for any suspicious signs.

"Something seems wrong here. Why is everything so quiet?" Officer Wang said with a frown.

"Yes, in a place like this, there should be some animal sounds even at night," Qi Tongwei responded.

Suddenly, a low wolf howl broke the silence of the night. The two immediately became alert and looked in the direction of the sound, vaguely seeing a pair of glowing eyes staring at them in front of them.

"What is that?" Officer Wang asked nervously.

"It might be a wolf, but we can't take the risk. Keep going and be careful." Qi Tongwei clenched the flashlight in his hand and motioned Officer Wang to follow.

After walking for a while, they found some strange footprints in an open space. These footprints looked like both human and wild animal footprints, which was very strange.

"What's with these footprints? Could it be that people and wolves are living together?" Officer Wang was puzzled.

"It is most likely some unknown creature. We must be careful." Qi Tongwei analyzed calmly.

As the two continued to explore, they heard rustling footsteps behind them. They turned back suddenly, but saw nothing.

"Who's there?" Qi Tongwei shouted loudly, the flashlight beam sweeping back and forth in the darkness.

Suddenly, a vague figure flashed from behind the tree and quickly disappeared into the darkness. Qi Tongwei and Officer Wang looked at each other and decided to chase after it.

They carefully followed the figure, going deeper and deeper into the forest. Suddenly, they heard a whisper among the trees ahead, as if some kind of ritual was being performed.

"Did you hear that? It sounds like someone is talking." Officer Wang whispered.

"Yes, let's go and take a look." Qi Tongwei nodded, and the two of them walked lightly and slowly approached the source of the sound.

As they approached, they saw a strange scene: several figures formed a circle with a fire in the center and some strange runes dancing in the fire. These figures were wearing black cloaks, their faces were hidden under the hoods, and only their flashing eyes could be seen.

"We have to find out what they are doing." Qi Tongwei whispered to Officer Wang.

As the two were about to approach, a sudden cold wind blew, the flames suddenly went out, and the surroundings fell into darkness. The figures quickly dispersed and disappeared into the darkness.

"Oh no! We've been discovered!" Officer Wang exclaimed.

"Retreat quickly!" Qi Tongwei shouted loudly.

Qi Tongwei and Officer Wang walked along the path in the forest. The beam of the flashlight drew a bright line in the dark night. The breeze blew through the treetops, making a rustling sound that made people shudder.

"Do you think that anonymous phone call is reliable?" Officer Wang asked in a low voice. Although his voice was very low, it was still very clear in the quiet night.

"This matter must be investigated thoroughly," Qi Tongwei said firmly, "whether it is true or false, we must find out the truth."

They continued walking, and after about half an hour, they suddenly found a piece of open space that was obviously trampled by people. Qi Tongwei squatted down and carefully checked the traces on the ground with a flashlight, and found several broken branches and a pile of trampled weeds.

"Someone must have been here." said Qi Tongwei.

"Yes, and there is more than one person." Officer Wang added, "These traces look very recent, so they may be nearby."

Just as they were about to investigate further, a shrill cry came from a distance, breaking the silence of the forest. The two looked at each other, quickly drew their pistols, and ran in the direction of the sound.

They soon came to a dense forest and found a ragged man lying on the ground, covered in blood. Qi Tongwei went forward to check and found that he was still breathing weakly.

"Don't be afraid, we are the police and will protect you." Qi Tongwei comforted him while illuminating the man's face with a flashlight.

The man slowly opened his eyes, his eyes filled with fear and despair: "Save me, save me...Wolf...The wolf is coming..."

"Wolf?" Officer Wang asked doubtfully, "Are you talking about wild wolves?"

The man shook his head, his voice hoarse and weak: "No...it's...werewolves...they will turn into wolves..."

Qi Tongwei was shocked. This legendary creature actually existed? He couldn't believe it, but the scene before him made him unable to deny it. They quickly helped the injured man up and decided to take him back for treatment before conducting further investigation.

Just as they were about to leave, they suddenly heard a low growl behind them. Qi Tongwei turned around, and the beam of the flashlight shone on a pair of green eyes. It was a huge wolf with fierce eyes and saliva dripping from its mouth.

"Run!" Qi Tongwei shouted, and he and Officer Wang quickly pulled the injured man and ran in the opposite direction.

After they ran for a distance, they found a swamp ahead. Qi Tongwei made a quick decision: "We must go around it, otherwise we will be trapped."

As they bypassed the swamp, the wolves behind them were getting closer and closer. Qi Tongwei was anxious and suddenly thought of an abandoned hunter's cabin on the other side of the woods, where they might be able to take shelter temporarily. They quickened their pace and finally rushed into the cabin before the wolves approached, quickly closed the door, and used the furniture inside the house to block the door.

"It's safe now." Officer Wang breathed a sigh of relief.

"It's temporary," Qi Tongwei said, "We have to find a way to leave here as soon as possible."

The injured man lay on the ground, his breath getting weaker and weaker. Qi Tongwei quickly checked his wound and treated it with the first aid kit he carried with him.

"Do you know what those werewolves are about?" Qi Tongwei asked.

The man nodded and spoke with difficulty: "They... are cursed villagers... They will turn into wolves every full moon night... and attack anyone who gets close... Unless we find a way to break the curse... they will never recover..."
