Yue Anying slapped Qian Shun across the face. "Why are you getting so close? Look at how heroic and dashing their guards are. They all look so powerful. What do you look like? Get out of here."

She looked at her bodyguard, Craftsman Sword, whose face bore a disgusting scar, and cursed, "Get your face off."

The swordsmith paused, then silently took out a mask and put it on. Miss Ying sometimes goes crazy for no reason; she must have had another episode.

He comforted himself, telling himself not to argue with a sick person.

He had to be patient; once he returned to the Northwest, he wouldn't have to put up with this little brat anymore.

Miss Ying is just as disgusting as the golden toad she keeps.

After praying to Buddha, Yue Anying went straight out of the main hall and followed the direction of Jiang Fenghua and the others.

Jiang Fenghua followed the young monk to the meditation room. Along the way, she occasionally encountered groups of monks from the temple, who were huddled together and talking furtively about the pilgrims who had come to the temple, who was rich and who was stingy, and so on.

Their conversation was so offensive that the young monk leading them overheard it and gave them a few words of admonishment before they dispersed.

It is said that monks and nuns are compassionate, yet they are all eyeing the wallets of worshippers. Jiang Fenghua has never encountered a temple like this before. It seems that the living Buddha temple is really inhabited by living Buddhas who only know how to eat people.

Upon entering the meditation room, the young monk bowed to a bald monk kneeling cross-legged on a prayer mat, saying, "Abbot, Benefactor Jiang has arrived."

“This Master Jiang is the abbot of our Living Buddha Temple, Master Pudu.”

The monk chanted, "Amitabha, please sit down, Benefactor Jiang."

Jiang Fenghua glanced at the meditation room without showing any emotion. Master Pudu, he must have given himself that name!

She calmly sat down opposite the monk and politely returned a Buddhist greeting: "We have heard that Master Pudu's Taoist arts are profound, and we have come to the Living Buddha Temple to ask the Master to help us to deliver the souls of the deceased. The deceased was an elder in the family who was killed by a monster and could not rest in peace. We have come from Yuzhou to your temple to ask the Master for help."

Master Pudu asked in bewilderment, "You've come all this way from such a far place."

"The reputation of the Living Buddha Temple is renowned far and wide, so we have come to ask the abbot for assistance." After Jiang Fenghua finished speaking, Hongxiu sensibly placed a gold ingot in front of the abbot.

“My grandfather and grandmother specifically instructed my son to recast the golden statue of the Bodhisattva at the Living Buddha Temple, so as to accumulate good karma for my deceased third master and ensure that he is reborn into a good family in his next life.”

The gleaming gold was placed on the table, and Pudu's eyes lit up immediately. He quickly put his hands together in prayer and silently chanted, "Amitabha, it is my merit to perform rituals for the deceased."

He then instructed the young monk to quickly prepare tea for the guest. The young monk, being very sensible, immediately stepped forward to respectfully pour the tea, his eyes gleaming with greed as he repeatedly glanced at the gold.

Master Pudu coughed and then asked, "What is the deceased's birth date and time, and why did he die? Did he have any unfulfilled wishes in life, and why did he die with his eyes open?"

Jiang Fenghua said, "He died from being poisoned by a golden toad that ate his eyes. The toad also had strange tentacles."

Upon hearing this, Master Pudu's prayer beads suddenly and inexplicably broke, the sandalwood beads scattering all over the ground with a series of crackling sounds.

A flicker of panic crossed his eyes as he hurriedly began to gather his prayer beads.

Seeing this, Jiang Fenghua said in a deep voice, "When my elder died, he had no eyes, so the house is haunted. I don't know if it's because he is still attached to his eyes that his vengeful spirit keeps hovering in the house and is unwilling to be reincarnated. I wonder if the master has any way to let him rest in peace."

The prayer beads bounced and rolled on the table with a clear and melodious sound. Master Pudu was chanting "Amitabha," but Jiang Fenghua couldn't hear what else he was saying. He was probably reciting some Buddhist scripture.

A moment later, Jiang Fenghua came out of the meditation room. Master Pudu personally saw her out, saying, "Don't worry, Benefactor Jiang, leave this matter to this old monk."

"Thank you for hosting," Jiang Fenghua said.

At this moment, Yue Anying and the others also came over. Just as she brushed past Jiang Fenghua, her body suddenly swayed and she fell towards Jiang Fenghua. Before she could really fall, Ao Xue coldly took out the sword in her hand and pressed it against her waist.

Seeing this, her guards looked fierce and stepped forward with knives. Just as a conflict was about to break out, Yue Anying said sweetly, "Oh dear, this road is so uneven that I twisted my ankle. Thank you for saving me, young master."

She was speaking to Jiang Fenghua, who paused, her eyes filled with embarrassment. When had she saved her? If this girl wanted to get close to her, she should at least come up with a better reason. With this, the two sides were practically at war.

Jiang Fenghua didn't intend to pay her any attention and was about to leave when Yue Anying suddenly blocked her way, "Young Master."

As soon as she finished speaking, Xun Yao led his men forward. Yue Anying coldly tore off her clothes, revealing half of her shoulder and collarbone. "Do I want to eat your master? You're all swarming around like flies."

Xun Yao hadn't expected the other party to pull this stunt, so he quickly looked away.

Jiang Fenghua thought to herself, it seems the other party came with a purpose, she wanted to see what they wanted to do by deliberately getting close.

She said, "All of you, step back."

She approached the woman, wanting to smell the disgusting odor that Gongsun Lan had described. When she got close, she did indeed smell an indescribable odor, like something rotting from the bones, mixed with a strong scent of perfume, which made her feel uncomfortable.

As Yue Anying saw her approach, her face flushed slightly as she thought to herself that the woman in person was even more beautiful than the portrait her eldest sister had sent—a delicate face, bright eyes, and soft lips. She wanted to go forward and touch her.

Jiang Fenghua suddenly spoke up, "Is there something you need from me, young lady?"

Yue Anying smiled slightly, not feeling embarrassed at all, and gently placed her fingers on her shoulder. "This humble woman is new to the temple and has just noticed that it is full of bald men. I see that the guards around you seem to be very powerful. I wonder if I may accompany you for the time being?"

Jiang Fenghua said, "That might not be convenient."

"Could it be that you are afraid of your beloved wife at home? I have no improper thoughts," Yue Anying said deliberately.

Jiang Fenghua calmly replied, "I don't have a beautiful wife at home."

Yue Anying smiled blatantly, "Since there's no young master here, why be afraid? I'm not a man-eating tiger, I won't do anything to you."

She intentionally approached Jiang Fenghua, thinking, "I never expected that I and you would have such a beautiful encounter."

Everyone present felt that her behavior and voice were licentious and indecent, and that the Empress could tolerate such behavior.

Jiang Fenghua smiled, looking even more dashing than before. "Miss, you are overthinking it. The Buddhist temple is a place of purity. Please be respectful."

Yue Anying straightened up and pulled her collar up a little higher before formally introducing herself, "Young master, you may call me Anying. May I ask how you should address me? It is fate that we have met."
