Chapter 486: Comforted by a Squib
The next morning, Rosen was wandering in the corridor of the school, no, patrolling.
From a distance, I saw Luo Youwei and Hermione running towards me hand in hand.
"Good morning, Dad." Luo Youwei greeted him while running past Rosen like the wind.
"Okay." Rosen nodded and asked, "Have you had breakfast?"
"I ate it." Luo Youwei replied, and had already run quite far away.
Hermione was pulled by her and could only run as fast as she could, but she did not forget to turn around and say to Rosen: "Thank you Uncle Luo for the dumplings, they are delicious."
"I'm glad you like it. I'll cook for you next time." Rosen replied, but he saw that the two children were no longer visible at the end of the corridor.
Although Luo Youwei and Hermione were a little late, at least they were not late.
But Harry Potter and Ron Weasley were truly late.
"Good morning, Mr. Law..." As soon as he saw Rosen, Harry Potter stopped to say hello.
"Let's go." Rosen pointed ahead and said, "It's already late, you don't want to be deducted points for being late, right?"
"Ah!" The two men screamed and ran away.
Rosen laughed and strolled along the corridor to the library.
As a security guard, he should of course patrol everywhere to deal with any emergencies and ensure peace and stability in the school.
It's just that he has a group of crows flying around, acting as his spies, so no movement can escape his eyes.
Whenever necessary, he could rush over with a space jump, so there was really no need for him to rely on his own two legs to walk around in the huge Hogwarts.
To be honest, Rosen has been coveting the Hogwarts library for a long time.
Now that I have the chance, I must go in and take a good look. If I can find some useful magic, then my trip to this world will not be in vain.
Although Rosen was only a bodyguard, he was also a faculty member, so he should be able to enter the library to read and borrow books.
Rosen walked along the tall bookshelf, picked up an introductory book on transformation magic and started reading.
If you ask what kind of magic in this world Rosen is most interested in, it must be transformation magic without a doubt.
Just think about it, it is so magical that you can turn one thing into another with just a flick of your hand, and there is almost no difference in shape, size, and properties.
In Rosen's opinion, this is definitely a magical skill with considerable room for expansion and great use.
It is much stronger and more useful than the likes of the Invisibility Curse, the Imperius Curse, the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse.
Rosen really wanted to learn this magic with his own brain and understanding, or at least get started. As long as he could make it appear in the skill list, he could then slowly improve the skill level by brushing up on his proficiency.
It’s a pity that he still underestimated the difficulty of this thing.
Although he could understand every word in the book and remember all the necessary spells by heart, he turned the book over and over many times but still did not receive any system prompts to comprehend the skills.
Rosen thought that the books he read were too simple and the content was not comprehensive enough, so he could not form any skills. So he searched the bookshelf for books about transformation magic and read them one by one.
Hogwarts School has been established for nearly a thousand years, and naturally many magical geniuses have emerged from it. Naturally, many of them are well-versed in transfiguration magic and have left behind numerous works.
Rosen is now standing on the shoulders of his predecessors, absorbing nutrition frantically. He has learned a lot of skills in all aspects, but the hints to comprehend the skills have not yet arrived.
Am I the legendary dud? This thought occurred to Rosen as he left the library near noon.
The problem is that he can cast spells. Even if the magic in the dark is different from the magic in this world, with the abundant magic power in his body, he shouldn't be a squib like Filch.
So what is the problem?
Could it be that the magic of the two worlds is so different that even the magic power cannot be used interchangeably?
Or is it because I don't have a wand? Rosen wondered as he ate lunch in his dormitory.
At this moment, there was a sudden knock on the door.
Rosen looked up, and the door was opened by an invisible force.
LV8 telekinesis is still very useful.
This made Rosen even more puzzled, and he even began to doubt whether he had the talent to learn the magic of this world.
As soon as the door opened, Filch, who had always had a gloomy face, walked in. Seeing Rosen eating, he didn't even say a polite word, "Excuse me for disturbing you. I'll come back later." He said in a stiff tone, "Although I don't know why Dumbledore would go to the trouble of adding a security guard position..."
As he spoke, he glanced at Rosen and said, "But since he chose you, he must have his reasons."
"Stop talking nonsense. Why did you come to me? Get to the point." Rosen didn't have time to listen to him nagging, so he interrupted him directly.
"I'm here to discuss with you the division of responsibilities," Filch said coldly, "especially the time and area of patrolling within the school. We need to discuss this clearly."
"No need." Rosen waved his hand and said, "Just do what you normally do. I won't interfere with your affairs."
Filch's expression eased a little after hearing this, and he asked again, "What are you doing?"
“Patrol everywhere to discover and solve problems early to avoid major disasters,” said Rosen.
Filch looked at Rosen as if he were a big scoundrel and wage thief. He was almost angry. After a long silence, he said, "Since you have your own plans, I won't say anything. Goodbye."
He turned around and was about to leave, but stopped when he was about to leave. He turned his head to look at Rosen and said in a tone that was similar to him: "I heard that you went to the library to read a lot of magic books... I have done this before, but... if you don't have talent... reading alone is useless..."
With a long sigh, he walked out with a gloomy look on his face.
Rosen just thought he was talking nonsense and closed the door with telekinesis. Then he picked up a fried peanut with chopsticks and threw it on the table. Then he used the chopsticks as a magic wand, pointed at the peanut and chanted a spell.
However, the scene that Rosen imagined, the peanuts turning into scarabs, did not happen.
Peanuts are still peanuts.
This made Rosen very embarrassed, luckily he was the only one in the room.
If no one else saw his current embarrassing situation, it wouldn't be too awkward.
It seems that I have underestimated the magic of this world before. I can't always think that I can learn it overnight. I have to learn it steadily. Rosen thought so.
