Spirit, energy and essence are the three innate treasures of talent, given by heaven and earth before human beings are born.

These three treasures of human nature are given by nature, so if nature gives enough innate qi to babies, they will be strong and energetic. If not enough, babies will be listless and weak.

Congenital strength or weakness of the body cannot be controlled by human power.

But even if a person is born weak and sickly, he can still nourish his spirit through his own character, nourish his qi through exercise, and replenish his essence through food. This is all thanks to the three treasures of the earth.

The three treasures of the earth are thinking consciousness, breathing air, and sympathetic essence.

People's innate deficiencies can be supplemented through acquired ones.

"Ning'er, do you know the way of heaven and the way of man?"

As for you and me who practice Taoism, we are even more greedy. What we seek is immortality, and what we covet is the vitality between heaven and earth.

I told you before that man's heavenly treasures are spirit, energy, and essence, and man's earthly treasures are thinking consciousness, breathing energy, and sympathetic essence.

These heavenly treasures and earthly treasures are also called innate vital energy and acquired vital energy.

The unity is collectively called the vital energy of a person. The vital energy of a person also represents the life span of a person. If the vital energy is sufficient, the person will live long, while if the vital energy is insufficient, the person will die young.

The total amount of human vitality is 384 zhu. The reason why it is measured in zhu is because vitality is so precious to humans. As the saying goes, every zhu counts, and every bit of such a thing must be calculated and counted clearly.

First of all, when a person is born in the womb, he or she is blessed by his or her parents, heaven and earth, and receives 24 beads. Then, every 32 months, the person's vital energy increases by 64 beads until the age of 16, with a total of 384 beads of vital energy accumulated. This is the limit of human vital energy and the limit of the innate vital energy that an ordinary person can obtain.

After that, every 96 months, the vital energy will be lost by 64 baht. At the age of 64, the vital energy is exhausted and the person dies.

If we compare this vital energy to a money jar, then those who want to live longer are misers. There is nothing we can do about it. After all, we only have this little money. If we pay attention to our health, we will spend less money. The less we spend, the longer we will live.

If you do too many things that are exhausting and taxing on your energy, your money will be spent faster and your life will naturally be shorter.

Having said that, Zuo Rutong looked at Meng Ning and smiled.

No matter how natural it is, you can’t escape death.
