The architectural style and layout of a Taoist temple are similar to those of a Buddhist temple, except for the names of the halls and the deities they enshrine. A Taoist temple usually starts from the mountain gate, surrounded by the Lingguan Hall, Sanqing Hall, Yuhuang Hall, Siyu Hall, Sanguan Hall, Zushi Hall and Caishen Hall.

The main gate of a Taoist temple mainly includes the Sanmen Hall, the flagpole and the Huabiao. The Sanmen Hall is a stone-built three-door archway, and the three door openings symbolize the "three realms". Stepping into the mountain gate means jumping out of the "three realms" and entering the "immortal cave". Huabiao is generally found in large palaces and temples. Taoism believes that the outside of the Huabiao belongs to the secular world, and the inside of the Huabiao belongs to the immortal world.

Yang Ruolan whispered to Qian Yizhen: "I feel that after coming to the Ancient Dao Temple, my heart has become much clearer and calmer. Is it because of the environment here?" Qian Yizhen thought for a moment: "Maybe. I can't really explain it."
