 Chapter 2: The Call of the Mysterious Relics

Bennett and Mika, the adventurous partners, are still eager to explore the unknown after experiencing countless wonderful and thrilling journeys. One day, they came to a remote town where the people were in a hurry, with fear and anxiety in their eyes.

"Bennett, look at this atmosphere, there must be something unusual going on." Mikael held Bennett's arm and whispered in his ear.

Bennett frowned, and his eyes swept around, landing on a few old men who were talking to each other on the street. He moved lightly, took Mika over, and asked politely, "Grandpas, did something happen in the village? I see everyone is quite nervous."

A white-haired old man sighed and said slowly, "Hey, kid, you outsiders don't know that recently, the ancient ruins outside the town have been emitting strange lights at night, and some people have heard faint whistling sounds, as if something terrible is about to emerge. Many people went to investigate, but none of them came back."

Bennett's eyes flashed with excitement, and he lowered his voice and said, "Grandpa, we just like to explore these unknown places. Maybe we can solve the secret of this ruins and let everyone feel at ease."

The old man widened his eyes and tried to dissuade them anxiously: "Don't dare, that place is very evil, if you go there, you might be in danger, don't be stupid."

Mika smiled and patted the old man on the shoulder: "Grandpa, don't worry, we know our limits and won't act rashly."

After saying goodbye to the old man, Bennett and Mika returned to the inn and began to pack their equipment. While checking whether the rope was secure, Bennett said, "Mika, this ruins sounds very dangerous. We have to be extra careful."

Mika tied his cape and said confidently, "What are you afraid of? With you here, we can definitely get out of this dangerous situation."

Taking advantage of the night, the two sneaked out of the town and headed towards the mysterious ruins. Along the way, the night wind rustled the grass, as if something was following them. Bennett clenched his weapon and whispered, "Mika, something doesn't feel right. Let's go faster."

Suddenly, a ball of blue flame appeared in front of them, floating in the air, swaying. Mika took a breath and said, "What the hell is this?"

Bennett swallowed and took a few steps forward courageously: "No matter what it is, we have to find out. Maybe this is the clue to the ruins."

When they got close to the flame, they found that it was surrounded by some ancient runes, emitting a faint light. Just as Bennett was about to reach out to touch it, the flames suddenly jumped up, and he quickly retracted his hand in fear. At this moment, the ground under their feet suddenly cracked, and the two almost fell into it.

"That was a close call!" Mika was still in shock. "We haven't even reached the ruins yet, and there are so many traps. We have to be careful inside."

After finally bypassing the flames, a huge stone door appeared in the distance, which was covered with strange patterns. Bennett observed carefully and found that these patterns seemed to tell an ancient story, but he couldn't understand it at first.

"Never mind, let's go in first." Mika said, and pushed the stone door hard, but the stone door did not move at all.

Bennett squatted down and carefully checked the bottom of the stone door. He found a small groove: "Mika, come and help, see if there is anything that can be embedded in it."

The two searched around and only found some broken stones. Bennett picked up a piece and put it into the groove. The stone door made a dull sound and slowly opened.

"Wow, it's really open!" Mika jumped up excitedly.

But they didn't know that this was just the first small test of the ruins, and a bigger crisis was still to come. Walking into the stone gate, there was a long passage with glowing stones inlaid on the walls. As they walked, they heard a "buzzing" sound behind them. Looking back, they saw a group of huge mechanical bees flying towards them.

"Run!" Bennett shouted and pulled Mika forward.

The mechanical bees were chasing after him, their wings flapping, creating a gust of wind. Mika ran and shouted, "These guys are like crazy, there's no end to it!"

Bennett thought quickly and saw several forks in the road ahead. He shouted, "Micah, let's split up and lead them away."

Although Mika was a little hesitant, he still nodded: "Then be careful and don't be stubborn."

Bennett ran to the left fork, and most of the mechanical bees followed him. Mika ran to the right, but she ran into trouble not long after. A huge stone ball appeared in front of her and rolled towards her.

Mika dodged left and right, panting with exhaustion. Just when the stone ball was about to fall on her, she slid under the stone ball. At this time, Bennett also dealt with the mechanical bee and rushed over.

"Mika, are you okay?" Bennett asked anxiously.

Mika dusted himself off, "I'm fine. This relic is just insane."

The two continued walking forward and finally came to a spacious hall. In the center of the hall there was a tall stone statue holding a glittering key.

"Could this be the key to unlock the core of the ruins?" Bennett guessed.

Mika's eyes lit up: "What are you waiting for? Bring it here quickly."

But when they approached the statue, it suddenly came alive and made a deep voice: "Intruders, hand over your souls, or you will never get the key."

Bennett clenched his fists. "Don't even think about it! We won't give you our souls."

The statue swung its arms and smashed towards them. Bennett and Mika quickly dodged and circled around the statue, looking for its weakness.

Mika seized the opportunity, climbed onto the back of the statue, and stabbed the statue's neck with a dagger. The statue felt pain and slowed down. Bennett took the opportunity to jump onto the statue's head and punched it in the eye.

The statue was completely furious, and it radiated a powerful force, causing Bennett and Mika to fall to the ground. But the two did not give up, and supported each other to stand up and rushed towards the statue again.

After a fierce struggle, the statue finally fell down. Bennett reached out to take the key from the statue, and the moment he got the key, the hall began to shake violently.

"Oh no, this place is going to collapse, let's go!" Mika shouted.

The two ran desperately along the way they came, with rocks falling behind them. Just when they thought they couldn't escape, a bright light appeared in front of them. Bennett and Mika used all their strength to rush towards the light.

"Boom!" The ruins behind them collapsed, and they luckily escaped. After returning to the town, they told the townspeople about the key. Everyone was grateful and admired them, and Bennett and Mika also knew that their adventure was still going on, and there would be more mysteries waiting for them to solve in the future.
