Chapter 57: Puzzles and a Test of Wisdom

Bennett and Mika stood on the top of the tower, with the endless ocean in front of them. The sun shone on the sparkling sea, forming a golden light band. Their hearts were filled with joy and a sense of accomplishment, but at the same time they also realized that their adventure was not over yet.

"Look at this." Mika picked up an ancient scroll covered with ancient texts.

Bennett took the scroll and read it carefully, his brows gradually furrowed, because the text was not in any language they were familiar with.

"What does it say?" Mika asked.

Bennett shook his head. “I don’t recognize these words, but there must be some important information on them.”

“Maybe we need to find someone to help decipher these words,” Mika suggested.

The two decided to leave the stone tower and return to the nearby village to find someone who could help them. They walked down the spiral staircase, and when they reached the middle floor of the tower, they found a door with intricate patterns and symbols carved on it.

Bennett tried to push the door open, and it slowly opened, and they found themselves in a mysterious room. In the center of the room stood a huge stone platform, on which stood a heavy book and an oil lamp.

Mika walked over and lit the oil lamp. The light illuminated the room and allowed them to see their surroundings more clearly. They found several drawers on the wall, and Mika opened one of them. Inside was some strange objects, such as a leaf, a stone, and a piece of parchment.

"What are these?" Mika picked up the parchment with some strange patterns drawn on it.

Bennett took the parchment and looked at it carefully. His eyes suddenly lit up and he said, "These patterns are somewhat similar to the words on the scroll. Perhaps there is some connection between them."

Mika nodded, and they decided to take the parchment back to the village and ask for advice. They carefully put the parchment into their backpacks and continued to walk down.

When they walked out of the stone tower, the sun was shining and the breeze was blowing. They walked along a path towards a nearby village, their hearts full of anticipation and curiosity.

Arriving at the village, they found an old man, the most learned man in the village. Bennett and Mika showed the parchment and scroll to the old man and explained their findings.

The old man looked at these items carefully, with a surprised expression on his face. "These are the marks of the ancient wise men. They represent puzzles and tests." The old man said.

"Puzzles and tests?" Mika asked doubtfully.

The old man nodded. "In ancient times, wise men often used puzzles and tests to screen those who were qualified to gain knowledge. These marks show that you have passed the first test, but there are more challenges waiting for you next."

Bennett and Mika smiled at each other. They were ready to accept more challenges. They knew that every adventure would make them stronger and wiser.

"Thank you for your help." Bennett said to the old man.

The old man smiled and nodded. "You are brave and wise people. I believe you can solve these puzzles and gain more knowledge. If you need help, you can always come back to me."

Bennett and Mika bid farewell to the old man with gratitude, and continued their adventure with expectations and determination for the future. They knew that this would be a journey full of challenges and growth, and they were willing to accept any test and strive for knowledge and wisdom.
