Time Travel: Conditional Wealth

Chapter 37: Would you like some regret medicine?

The last rays of sunset disappeared into the horizon and the light outside gradually dimmed.

He Xi finally set out on the journey home.

Worried, Lu Jinan waited at the entrance of the village early, looking into the distance. In his sight, apart from the white snow, there were large trees that were gradually becoming bare.

The winter in Mohe City is the coldest. Lu Jinan did not wear gloves when he walked out, and his fingers were frozen red. The days without getting a reply are the hardest to endure. One feels determined and lonely.

Maybe liking is the stunning sight at first sight, the girl’s neither humble nor overbearing temperament, and her confident and slightly ostentatious smile.

He Xi, who was riding a bike, suddenly thought of winter. They had never made a snowman before. Wasn’t that a pity? Wasn’t it just like love? If you don’t talk about it when you’re older, it won’t feel the same anymore?

All the way, she was thinking about how good Lu Jinan was to her, and her heart couldn't help but be touched.

Unfortunately, this is different from being forced into marriage. Maybe she wants to be in a free relationship? !

He couldn't ride a bicycle on the road, so he basically pushed it all the way, breathing out large puffs of air continuously. He saw a dark shadow standing there from a distance. Although he couldn't see it clearly, He Xi's heart was touched.

He Xi quickened his pace and got closer and found that it was really that fool Lu Jinan.

He was standing in the middle of the road, with snow on his body, looking down at his thin figure on the ground, and he was not even wearing a glove on his injured hand.

He waited there, bearing the snow, punishing himself as if it were self-torture.

He Xi felt a dry throat, so she quickly walked towards him, stopped the car, and put the gloves on his hands.

"Lu Jinan." Her voice was filled with reproach and heartache. She raised her hand and touched his face, which was just as cold.

"Self-abuse? Where's your confidence?"

Lu Jinan looked up blankly at He Xi's red lips. He took off his gloves, and his cold hands fell on He Xi's eyes, covering her overly bright eyes.

He Xi's lips were hit, it didn't hurt, but it felt weird. Lu Jinan tilted his head, kissed her lips, and kissed her hard.

For a moment, He Xi's mind went blank and the computer was down for a long time.

When she came back to her senses, she was startled. When she pushed Lu Jinan, she accidentally touched his injured arm. He hissed, and He Xi stopped immediately in fear. She chose to step back little by little.

She took two steps back, not knowing whether it was because she was going too fast or the ground was too slippery, but He Xi fell to the ground. She spoke reflexively, glared at Lu Jinan, then covered her butt, stood up and rubbed it, covering her butt so much that she didn't want the car anymore. She was so angry that she had to go home and hide.

Lu Jinan stood there for a long time, pushing the bicycle home with one hand, and scolded himself on the way, why didn't he help her up in time, she was scared, what about you? It's useless. But he still licked the corner of his mouth subconsciously, it was sweet.

He Xi walked the rest of the way back angrily. He Fei watched her movements and blinked: "Fell? Didn't you say you applied for a dormitory? It's safer to live in the office."

Xiao Yan looked behind He Xi, but didn't see Lu Jinan. Questions were written on his face: "Where is Lu Jinan? Isn't he waiting for you at the entrance of the village?"

He Xi's neck stiffened, and her cheeks and ears quickly flushed: "Don't mention that dog to me."

He Fei and Xiao Yan looked at each other, their faces full of question marks.

Xiao Yan was worried about Lu Jinan who had only one arm, so he walked out of the door and after a few steps he saw him pushing the bicycle with difficulty with one hand. Xiao Yan walked forward and took the bicycle with an expression of watching the fun.

"How did you provoke her again, calling you a dog?"

Lu Jinan's throat moved and he coughed. His ears were red from the cold, which perfectly concealed his immaturity. He thought about it and said, "Maybe he is dissatisfied?"

"What are you dissatisfied with?" Xiao Yan leaned over and asked.

Lu Jinan smiled and shook his head: "Little kid, stop asking."

"You? You're just a few days older than me."

He Xi did not sit at the table for dinner, but told He Fei that she would be living at the company's premises starting tomorrow. She expressed her understanding that it was too dangerous for a girl to get home at seven or eight o'clock in the evening, especially in the mountains.

The news spread like wildfire, and soon everyone in the family knew about it. He Xi chose not to tell He's parents, which was a normal reaction. Deep down, she actually wanted to keep a distance from them.

He's mother was so angry about this that she almost pointed at He Xi's nose and scolded her, saying that she was unfilial, that she didn't know the hardships of being a parent, and that she had no sense of responsibility, that she left the family's mess behind and just went away to enjoy herself.

Let me ask you, can you pat her butt? You can't touch someone who has fallen, because a fall with a little force really hurts.

He's mother made a fuss for a while, and He Xi got tired of it, so she ordered her to leave. Finally, she quieted down and He Xi started to busy herself with her work.

He Xi completed his daily task of running before going to work in the morning, and all that was left were 35 sit-ups and 35 squats each.

She proposed practical solutions to the various pest and disease problems encountered in greenhouse vegetable cultivation, as well as the issue of how modern medicines can be used rationally.

It was easy to explain the occasional appearance, but how to explain the large-scale appearance? After all, it was not something that could be developed at a high level of technology. If they asked He Xi to come up with the formula, what would she do?

Maybe he was really tired, and he fell asleep soon.

When Lu Jinan came, He Xi didn't hear the knock on the door. He saw that the kerosene lamp was still on and no one answered, so he thought she was still angry, so he pushed the door open.

He Xi fell asleep with her back to the door, lying on the tattered desk. She rested her head on her arms, her brows were calm, her nose was slightly straight, and the dim light fell on her face. What attracted him most were the red lips that he had kissed before.

He bent down and continued to look. Perhaps he felt someone approaching, so he opened his eyes. Feeling insecure in a foreign land, He Xi gradually became very alert.

She yawned, raised her hazy eyes and looked at the person next to her. She found it was Lu Jinan. She remembered what happened at the entrance of the village. She covered her lips with her hand and her face turned red unconsciously.

Lu Jinan stood up, tilted his head to look at her, and chuckled: "Have you really decided to live in the company?"

"Well, the journey back and forth is too tiring. I can sleep more in the time saved."

He Xi opened the drawer, took out an account book, and slowly flipped through it: "You and Xiao Yan's money, various bills, and expenses are all in here. Now I'm returning it to you."

He Xi also took out the bicycle ticket and watch ticket, as well as the money she roughly estimated. The accounts should have been settled long ago. She had always clearly recorded every penny and ticket he gave her and never dared to touch his share. She had always spent her own money.

Lu Jinan kept staring at her, his rosy lips saying such cold words, and there was no trace of tenderness in his beautiful eyes, how could she not warm him up?

He continued with a cold face, stretched out his hands to grab the money and tickets for the bicycle and watch, and tore them into pieces with his two bony hands. He said condescendingly: "Don't even think about drawing a clear line."

He Xi paused with her other hand holding the account book, feeling a little aggrieved. Didn't she want to make herself happy? But she was just a wandering soul, not even belonging to this world, how could she give each other a future?

Her existence now was already irresponsible, should she continue to be irresponsible? Some consequences would be debts that could not be repaid in a lifetime.

The world really needs regret medicine.

If I had known that night, I wouldn’t have gotten so excited. If I hadn’t been excited, I wouldn’t have everything I have now.
