Keeping the promise

Chapter 98 Departure

The days passed quickly in busyness and anticipation. Not long after, Zheng Wancheng took good care of Li Yunting and finally the day came when he was discharged from the hospital.

The sun shone on the hospital corridor. Zheng Wancheng held Li Yunting's discharge report in one hand and supported him with the other, a relieved smile on her face.

Li Yunting's health recovered well under Zheng Wancheng's careful care. Although he was still a little weak, his mental state was good.

Back home, a warm atmosphere permeated every corner. However, Li Yunting did not forget his previous promise to Zheng Wancheng to learn martial arts.

After careful consideration and planning, he decided to send Zheng Wancheng to the military camp for rigorous training.

When Zheng Wancheng learned of this decision, he felt both excited and reluctant.

She knew that this was an important step in her pursuit of strength, but it also meant temporarily leaving her warm home and her beloved Li Yunting.

Before leaving for the military camp, Zheng Wancheng decided to spend more time with Li Yunting and Li Yunxuan at home.

During these days, they spent many warm moments together.

In the early morning, the two would watch the sunrise side by side on the balcony, enjoying the peaceful and beautiful moment; in the evening, they would walk hand in hand in the community, talking about past memories and their aspirations for the future.

Li Yunxuan was also taken back from Qin Huaifeng by Zheng Wancheng. Li Yunxuan knew that his mother was going to training, so he cherished this time very much and always stayed around Zheng Wancheng.

Zheng Wancheng kept calling "Mom" and looking at the smart and cute Li Yunxuan, an idea came to his mind.

"Yun Ting, I think Yunxuan also needs some exercise. He can't keep playing around like this. He should learn more." Zheng Wancheng said at dinner one day.

Li Yunting nodded slightly: "Your idea is good, so what do you think should be done?"

Zheng Wancheng thought for a moment and said, "Zhong Chunjie's boxing club is very good. Why don't we send him there for foster care for a while? It will not only help him exercise, but also help him develop his perseverance and self-discipline."

"Xiaoxuan, are you willing?" Zheng Wancheng asked softly.

Li Yunxuan put down the chopsticks in his hand, looked at Zheng Wancheng with a firm look in his eyes and said: "Mom, I am willing. I also want to become stronger to protect you."

Li Yunting thought about it and thought this idea was feasible: "Let's do it this way."

So they quickly contacted Zhong Chunjie and told her the general situation.

"Hey, Chunjie, I want to learn martial arts. I can't take care of Xiaoxuan. Can I send him to your place and let my brother-in-law take care of him to learn boxing?"

After hearing this, Zhong Chunjie agreed without hesitation: "No problem! I can help take care of him."

Then, she asked with concern: "When are you going to leave?"

After thinking it over, Zheng Wancheng replied, "Let's have dinner together tomorrow. Let's arrange for Xiaoxuan and pack our things and go."

Zhong Chunjie smiled and said, "Don't worry, I will take good care of him." Hearing this, her gratitude was beyond words.

The next day, everyone gathered in a lively restaurant.

"Wancheng, you must do your best when you go to the military camp and don't embarrass us." Zhong Chunjie said with a smile.

Zheng Wancheng answered firmly: "Don't worry, I will definitely work hard!"

Everyone ate and talked, the atmosphere was very harmonious. Zheng Wancheng looked at his friends with gratitude, his heart filled with warmth.

After the dinner, Zheng Wancheng knew that the time of departure was getting closer, so she began to pack her things for the military camp. Li Yunting silently helped her, his eyes full of reluctance and worry.

"Yun Ting, don't be like this, I will be fine." Zheng Wancheng comforted.

Li Yunting gently held her hand: "Take good care of yourself in the barracks, and be sure to call me if anything happens."

Zheng Wancheng nodded heavily.

After packing her luggage, Zheng Wancheng took one last look at her familiar home, took a deep breath, then pulled her suitcase and walked out of the house with Li Yunting.

Li Yunting was driving a black SUV himself. Zheng Wancheng was sitting in the passenger seat, glancing at the stern-looking man beside him from time to time.

The car sped along and finally stopped slowly in front of a majestic military camp gate. Zheng Wancheng looked through the car window and saw two rows of soldiers standing neatly at the gate. They stood tall, like statues made of steel, with firm and focused eyes.

When the car slowly stopped, Zheng Wancheng's heart also lifted. Before she could react, she heard a loud command: "Salute!" Then, all the soldiers saluted the car in unison.

Zheng Wancheng was stunned by this sudden scene. She opened her eyes wide, at a loss.

Li Yunting got out of the car first, and Zheng Wancheng opened the door as well. As soon as he stepped onto the ground, he heard the soldiers shouting in unison: "Welcome, sir!"

Zheng Wancheng became even more confused. She turned her head to look at Li Yunting, only to see that he was standing straight with a serious expression, emitting an awe-inspiring majesty.
