Keeping the promise
Chapter 83 Feeding the Geese
The next morning, the sun shone softly in the courtyard, and the family sat around the table enjoying a warm breakfast.
After breakfast, Zheng Chenglin stood up and waved to Li Yunting: "Yunting, come with me, I'll take you to do some work."
Li Yunting quickly responded and followed. Zheng Wancheng also followed curiously, wanting to see what her father would ask the big boss to do. She felt that something interesting would definitely happen.
Li Yunting quickly changed into her father's old clothes, and they came to a corner of the yard where there was a group of geese and chickens. Zheng Chenglin skillfully picked up a basin full of feed and handed it to Li Yunting: "Here, take this and feed them." Li Yunting took the basin and walked carefully towards the geese.
The geese stretched their necks and cackled, as if urging Li Yunting to feed them quickly.
Li Yunting looked at the geese nervously, and his steps were a little hesitant. Zheng Chenglin encouraged him, "Don't be afraid, they won't bite you."
Li Yunting took a deep breath and slowly extended the basin towards the geese. Unexpectedly, a big goose suddenly rushed over and pecked the basin fiercely, scaring Li Yunting so much that his hands trembled and the feed spilled all over the floor.
Seeing this, the other geese gathered around and scrambled for the food on the ground, and the scene suddenly became chaotic.
Li Yunting saw that the situation was not good, so he tried to disperse the geese. He waved the basin in his hand and shouted, "Go away!"
However, this action seemed to anger the geese, and several larger geese spread their wings and pounced on him.
Li Yunting was so scared that he turned around and ran, shouting, "Hey, don't chase me!" But the geese refused to give in and followed him closely, cackling non-stop.
He ran around in the yard, bumping into the fence and almost stepping on chicken poop, looking very miserable.
The geese chased him relentlessly, and one of the geese even flew up and pounced on his back, pecking at his clothes with its beak.
Li Yunting tried frantically to get rid of the goose, but accidentally stepped on the feed on the ground. His foot slipped and he fell forward.
Zheng Wancheng couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Zheng Chenglin hurried forward to support Li Yunting: "Be careful, kid." Li Yunting smiled awkwardly and stood up again.
He calmed himself down and picked up the basin again. This time he learned his lesson and held the basin high so that the goose could not reach it easily.
But the geese seemed unwilling to give up. They flapped their wings and jumped up to try to reach the food. Some geese even pounced on Li Yunting, making his clothes dirty.
Li Yunting dodged the geese's attacks while trying to spread the feed, muttering, "Don't grab, don't grab, everyone gets a share." His embarrassed yet serious look made Zheng Wancheng laugh so hard that she couldn't straighten her back.
After finally feeding the geese, it was time to feed the chickens. The chickens were much more flexible than the geese, running around in the yard. Li Yunting followed the chickens around, panting with exhaustion.
There was a particularly naughty chicken that always slipped away from under Li Yunting's feet. Li Yunting chased it until he was sweating profusely. Finally, he got anxious and pounced on it, but he missed it and fell flat on his face.
Zheng Wancheng laughed so hard that tears came out, and Zheng Chenglin couldn't help but smile too.
"I don't believe I can't feed you!" Li Yunting got up from the ground, wiped the dirt off his face, and continued to "fight" with the chickens.
Finally, under the guidance of Zheng Chenglin, Li Yunting completed the task of feeding the chickens. He was so tired that he sat on the ground, gasping for breath.
Zheng Wancheng walked over and handed him a handkerchief: "Look at you, you've become a little cat." Li Yunting took the handkerchief, looked at Zheng Wancheng's smiling face, and started laughing too.
Zheng Chenglin looked at the two of them, his eyes full of relief and joy. His eyes fell on the two of them softly, as if he saw hope and happiness in the future.
At this moment, the courtyard is filled with laughter, warm and beautiful. The sun shines through the leaves, casting mottled shadows, and the breeze blows gently, bringing a hint of coolness.
Zheng Chenglin couldn't help but think of the past years, the laughter and tears, all of which have become precious memories. Now, watching the children grow and progress, he feels extremely proud and satisfied.
In this warm little courtyard, time seemed to have stopped, everything was so peaceful and harmonious. Everyone had a happy smile on their face, enjoying this rare happy time together.
"Today, Yun Ting has made the greatest contribution. Remember to give him chicken legs tonight." Zheng Chenglin said with a smile, his voice filled with sincere appreciation.
Zheng Wancheng quietly looked at the confident and energetic man in front of him. His hair was a little messy, but it did not affect his charm, but added a sense of unruly and chic.
The corners of Zheng Wancheng's mouth rose slightly, revealing a faint smile.
"Okay, we have to add it, but it's not easy." She responded softly.
