Last time we talked about Li Yi teaching Jiyun how to convert Gongsun Chan, and then Jiyun turned and left. Now it’s time to talk about business. Let’s see whether Luo Han Guo can exchange for the Diamond Sutra from Li Yi’s previous life.

After Jiyun left, Shiyu looked at his back and said, "Li Lang, you were really cruel! It seems like you were taking revenge for personal gain." Li Yi smiled and said, "If I don't hit him harder, his wooden head will not be able to understand. If everyone in the world is as smart as my Shiyu, then the great wish of Guanyin Bodhisattva can be realized! It's a pity that most people in the world are as stupid as Gongsun Chan, and they are stubborn and don't listen to advice, so the Bodhisattva has a hard time!"

Shiyu took all of this to heart. She asked, "Li Lang, are we going to get down to business next? Is it convenient for Shiyu to stay here?"

Li Yi looked at Zheng Yuan and asked, "What exactly do you want me to do?"

Zhengyuan gave Zhengjue a look, and Zhengjue immediately understood. He smiled at Shiyu and said, "Donor Wan, please follow me over here to drink tea. Let me and Xiuyuan chat alone for a while." Shiyu naturally knew what was going on. She followed Zhengjue to the meditation room opposite. Zhengjue poured water and brewed tea, and handed it to Shiyu...

Li Yi followed the old monk to his meditation room. On the table in the room, there was something wrapped in a red cassock. Li Yi asked, "What is this?" Zhengyuan smiled and opened the cassock. It turned out to be a fruit that looked like a dragon fruit, with a golden shell on the outside, emitting a faint golden light.

Li Yi knocked on it. The shell was as hard as steel. Even if he chopped it with an axe, he would not be able to open it. Li Yi asked, "What is this?"

"Junior brother, this is a Buddhist treasure, Luo Han Guo!"

"Lo Han Guo, can you become a Luo Han if you eat it?"

Zheng Yuan laughed and said, "There have been rumors like this, but it's fake. If there is a fruit that can make you an Arhat after eating it, then why are there only eighteen Arhats in Buddhism?" "Oh, it's fake, then what good can this fruit do?"

“Xiuyuan, this Luo Han Guo is the Golden Body Luo Han Guo. It is the most beneficial to those of us who practice the Vajra Divine Art. It is equivalent to adding thirty years of hard practice! Didn’t you consume too much energy using the Vajra Divine Art before and need to rest for a few days to recover? If you eat it, I dare not say how much more you will consume, but at least you will recover in just one day at most compared to the consumption last time!”

"Is this monk fruit so powerful?" Zhengyuan smiled and nodded.

Li Yi was thinking: So cool? If I eat it, won't my Golden Gun skill be complete? Good stuff! Good stuff! Hmm? Would this old monk be so kind? Would he give me such an important treasure? Absolutely impossible! Ah! I understand! This old monk must want something from me? What could it be? The Diamond Sutra? Hmm, that's possible! Do I have anything else related to Buddhism? The Heart Sutra? I haven't shown this scripture yet! No one knows, this is the scripture at the bottom of the box, I only know these three scriptures, so it can't be wrong, this old monk wants the Diamond Sutra.

"Brother, you are right. Besides, it seems that this kid has the ability to save people. It's a pity that he is attached to the mundane world and is unwilling to save himself. If he can devote himself to Buddhism, he may become a Bodhisattva."

"He is attached to the mortal world? How do you know?"

"Gongsun Chan said that he is a lecher, which is absolutely true. I think he has no desire for power or money, but he has the hardest time letting go of women. If you want him to see through the world, he has to pass the test of beauty."

"Humph, I see. No wonder he doesn't want to convert to Buddhism. It's a pity that he doesn't see through the color of appearances."

"Maybe he has his own plans. Senior brother, like you and me, I'm afraid we can no longer understand his character."

Back to Li Yi, he was determined to get the Luo Han Guo, but he had bigger plans. He said, "I'm just a scholar. What's the use of practicing the Vajra Divine Art? I don't fight in battles, and I don't make enemies with people. This Luo Han Guo is indeed a good thing, but it's of no use to me."

It was obvious that Li Yi was bargaining. How could Master Zhengyuan not see this trick? He smiled and said, "Oh, if that's the case, then let's forget about it. I'll talk to Jiyun later to see if he's willing to take on the Bodhisattva's job in exchange for this treasure."

"Brother, as elders, we should teach our disciples to practice diligently. How can you give Jiyun such a trick? This will harm him!"

"But you don't want it, brother. I will only get limited benefits from eating it. If I want this Luo Han Guo to play its maximum effect, hey, I think of someone, Du Ming! Let Du Ming eat this Luo Han Guo, maybe our Xishan Temple will be able to produce three Vajras! Right, right, you can let him take on this task!"

Li Yi was anxious and interrupted, "Brother, you see, you just said that this was harming your disciple, but now you are pitting Du Ming! If he eats it, I am afraid that his foundation will be unstable. Brother, you must not rush for success and force things to happen!"

"That's a difficult matter. Bodhisattva Guangsheng has ordered me to exchange this Luo Han Guo for a scripture. Who do you think I should entrust this task to?"

Li Yi saw that the old monk was playing him, trying to get him to hand over the scriptures. He pondered for a while and said, "Okay, brother, stop pretending. I know that Bodhisattva Guangsheng wants my copy of the Diamond Sutra. This Luo Han Guo is for the scriptures!"

Zhengyuan nodded and smiled, "That's true, but Junior Brother, the old monk still needs your help with something?"

"Old monk, do you want to raise the price?"

Zheng Yuan waved his hand and smiled, "The old monk doesn't know how to do business. I only talk about cause and effect. Jiyun and Gongsun Chan's affairs have a great relationship with you. You have also made a lot of efforts in it, but the matter is not over yet, so Junior Brother has to help them with some chores!"

"What do you mean by it has a great connection with me? I have helped them to the best of my ability! I even prayed to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and it was still my own karma. How dare you, an old monk, ask me to clean up their mess! Why? It's better to have less trouble than more. I have my own things to do! I don't have the time for that!"

"Oh, if that's the case, well, then Xiuyuan, just write the scripture and this Luo Han Guo will be yours."

"Deal! Bring me some pen and paper!" Zheng Yuan smiled and took out the brush and gold ink that he had prepared long ago, and also took out a stack of the best paper, placed it respectfully, and then said, "Well, Junior Brother, please start writing!"

Li Yi suddenly sensed something unusual and asked, "Old monk, there is something fishy here! You want to trick me!" Zheng Yuan smiled and said, "Brother, don't be ridiculous. Monks don't tell lies. Besides, how could I, old monk, trick you?"

Li Yi put down his pen and said with a smile: "I understand, old monk, let me ask you how to eat this monk fruit?"

"Just open the shell and eat the flesh directly, what's wrong with that?" "Oh, so you are waiting for me here, old monk, how about this, you open the shell for me first, and then I will recite the scriptures silently, how about that?"

"This...I'm afraid it's inappropriate!"

Li Yi slammed the table and stood up, cursing: "I knew you, old monk, had bad intentions! Ah, when I finish writing the scriptures, if you don't open the shell for me, I will stare at the Luo Han Guo with my eyes wide open! Great, Zhengyuan, you have become more capable! You can even scheme against others!"

Zhengyuan said innocently, "How can this be considered a plot? The Bodhisattva really only asked me to exchange the Luo Han Guo for the scriptures. There is no other decree!"

"Hmph! You old bald ass! You still dare to be stubborn. If I can't open the shell, what use do I have for this Luo Han Guo? I don't have the scripture I want! I can't write it!"

Bodhisattva Guangsheng, who was watching everything from a distance, kneaded his brows again and said to Bodhisattva Guanzizai, "This was not my idea. I didn't ask Zhengyuan to make things difficult for Xiuyuan."

Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled and said, "Brother, I naturally understand that you would not instruct me in this way. It's just that Zhengyuan has been with Li Yi for a long time, and I'm afraid he has been led astray. Hahaha, it doesn't matter. I think it's good for Zhengyuan to do this to deal with people like Xiuyuan. It's quite interesting!"

Zhengyuan stared at Li Yi blankly, and Li Yi looked at Zhengyuan with dissatisfaction. The two confronted each other for a long time, and no one spoke. Zhengyuan sighed and began to pack up silently. Li Yi finally lost his temper and cursed: "Old monk! You are so cruel! I, Li Yi, admit defeat! Tell me, what mess do you want me to help them clean up!"

Zhengyuan smiled complacently and said, "It's nothing, it's just that the incident between Jiyun and Gongsun has caused a lot of uproar, and many rumors have spread that are unfavorable to Buddhism and Xishan Temple. Although my Buddhism is empty of the four elements and the six senses are pure, these rumors have had a lot of impact on our Xishan Temple. Whether it is the teaching of the Dharma or the monks' alms, they have been ignored. So Xiuyuan, you can think of a way to resolve these rumors, what do you think?"

Li Yi rubbed his temples, thought for a moment and said, "This matter is a bit tricky. I originally planned to make them a story of love and righteousness, but Jiyun convinced Gongsun Yi himself, and my plan didn't work at all. Now my original plan is even more useless. I need to think of another way. Can you give me some time and wait for me to come up with a way to deal with this matter?"

Zhengyuan nodded and said, "Well, the old monk also knows that this matter is difficult to handle, otherwise he would not have asked Xiuyuan for help."

Li Yi thought for a while and said, "Okay, I agree to this. Old monk, let's make it clear first. If you dare to plot against me again next time, don't blame me for being ruthless!" Zhengyuan smiled and nodded, and handed the pen to Li Yi. The latter took the pen and wrote the "Diamond Sutra" of more than 5,000 words. Zhengyuan had been bending over to grind the paper, pass the paper, blow dry the ink with Buddhist teachings, and serve carefully. After Li Yi put down the brush, Zhengyuan blew the ink dry on the last page and bound it into a book with his own hands.

Zhengyuan held the sutra in both hands, raised it above his head, and walked all the way to the main hall. He placed the sutra in front of the Tathagata Buddha statue, then knelt down and said, "Respectfully responding to the order of Bodhisattva Guangsheng, I now present the Diamond Sutra to the Buddha, please read it."

As soon as he finished speaking, the scriptures emitted brilliant golden light, illuminating the entire Xishan Temple. The pages of the scriptures in the main hall turned by themselves, and then the sound of chanting could be heard! In addition to Zhengjue, Li Yi, Shiyu and the monks, there were also some pilgrims present. Seeing this scene, they all knelt on the ground.

I only heard a solemn voice coming from the mouth of the Tathagata Buddha: "Well done, well done. This sutra has appeared here. It is a heaven-sent opportunity. From today on, Xishan Temple will be renamed Vajra Temple. The Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra will be the sutra of the temple. It will be enshrined in the Sutra Library for all monks to comprehend. Ren Zhengyuan will be the abbot of Vajra Temple, Zhengjue will be the supervisor, Jiming will be the monk on duty, Jiyun will be the guest hall, and Duming will be the guard. I will give you a relic and ten five-treasure robes as rewards. I hope Vajra Temple will continue to promote Buddhism and save all living beings."

Zhengyuan bowed, raised his head and chanted, "Amitabha, thank you for the reward from the Buddha. Everyone in Vajra Temple will work together and abide by the Buddha's teachings." The monks said in unison, "We will abide by the Buddha's teachings." The golden light shrank and condensed into a golden relic, which was placed on the ten-grade five-treasure cassock and placed in front of Zhengyuan.
