Chapter 12 Friendship in the Mountains
There was a mysterious light in Xiaoya's eyes, as if there was an unknown story behind them.
"Liu Hua, do you believe in fate?" Xiaoya asked suddenly, her voice flowing like a clear spring.
Liu Hua was slightly stunned, then nodded: "I believe that fate always has its own arrangements. However, sometimes I also wonder, can fate really be changed?"
Xiaoya's lips curled up into a smile, with a sly look in her eyes: "Do you know? I once had a friend whose fate was changed. It's a story about courage and choice."
"Oh? Tell me quickly." Liu Hua's curiosity was aroused and his eyes lit up.
Xiaoya came closer, as if sharing a secret that only the two of them could understand: "This friend's name is A Ming. He was born in an ordinary farming family. He heard his parents say since he was a child that fate destined him to live an ordinary life. But he never resigned himself to that. He often looked up at the stars at night and fantasized about his future."
"How did he do it?" A hint of anticipation ignited in Liu Hua's heart.
"One day, A Ming met an old man in the mountains. The old man told him that destiny can be changed as long as he is willing to work hard." Xiaoya's voice gradually became low, as if she was recalling the past.
"The old man also said that the turning point of destiny is often hidden in the choices made. So A Ming decided to leave the village and pursue his dream. He wanted to become a warrior and protect the people in his hometown." Xiaoya's eyes flashed with admiration.
"Did he succeed?" Liu Hua asked eagerly, as if he was also attracted by the story.
Xiaoya sighed slightly: "A Ming's road was not smooth. He experienced countless challenges and hardships. In a competition, he met a strong opponent and almost gave up. But at that moment, he remembered the old man's words and his fighting spirit ignited in his heart. He tried his best and finally defeated his opponent and won respect."
Liu Hua listened quietly, and felt sincere admiration for A Ming's story: "What a remarkable man. He taught us what persistence is."
"Yes," Xiaoya nodded with a smile, "and Ming's story tells us that fate is not immutable. The key lies in how we face challenges."
"What about you? Do you also believe that your destiny can be changed?" Liu Hua looked at Xiaoya with a hint of concern in his eyes.
Xiaoya was silent for a while, lowered her head, and seemed to be thinking: "I have had such thoughts before. However, sometimes I feel like I am trapped in an invisible cage and cannot break free."
"Why?" Liu Hua's voice became gentle. "Aren't you very brave? We are exploring together here, aren't we changing our own destiny?"
Xiaoya raised her head, tears glistening in her eyes: "Yes, but I always feel uneasy in my heart, as if I can never truly escape this bondage."
Liu Hua felt a pang of heartache. He reached out and gently held Xiaoya's hand: "Xiaoya, no matter what difficulties you face, I will be by your side. Let's face it together and change together."
Xiaoya's hand was warm and firm in Liu Hua's palm, as if this friendship gave her endless strength. She smiled slightly and wiped away the tears from her eyes: "Thank you, Liu Hua. With you around, I don't feel lonely anymore."
"We are friends, aren't we?" Liu Hua showed a warm smile on his face.
"Yes, my friend." Xiaoya's voice became firm, "I will work hard to pursue my dreams, just like Ming."
The two smiled at each other, the sun shining on them, as if to gild their friendship with a layer of golden light. The mountain breeze blew gently, taking away the haze in their hearts, leaving only hope and courage.
"Let's go, let's keep moving forward." Liu Hua stood up, stretched out his hand, and pulled Xiaoya up.
"Yeah!" Xiaoya nodded, with a sunny smile on her face. The two walked forward along the mountain path. The flowers and plants in the valley swayed gently under their feet, as if cheering for their friendship.
"Liu Hua, what do you think our future will be like?" Xiaoya asked as they walked, with anticipation gleaming in her eyes.
"I believe that no matter what the future holds, we will keep going together." Liu Hua answered firmly, his heart full of longing for the future.
"That's good." Xiaoya said softly, her heart filled with warmth and hope.
"Do you really believe this legend?" Zhang Wei asked in a skeptical tone as he adjusted the flashlight in his hand.
"Of course, I have seen records about the 'Time and Space Stone' in ancient books." Li Ming answered firmly, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Legend has it that it can allow people to travel through time and space, back to the past or into the future."
"But, if such a thing really exists, why has no one found it?" Zhang Wei frowned, feeling vaguely uneasy.
"Maybe it's because it's hidden too deep, or people don't believe it exists at all." Li Ming looked back at the sky behind him, his heart beating. "We can't give up, we must find it today!"
The two took a deep breath, encouraged each other and walked into the cave. As they went deeper, strange symbols appeared on the surrounding rock walls, which seemed to tell some ancient story.
"These symbols seem to be ancient writings." Zhang Wei pointed at the wall with a hint of surprise on his face. "Can you understand it?"
Li Ming observed the symbols carefully, muttering: "This is... This is an ancient inscription, telling a story about time travelers. They used the 'Time Stone' to change history and even saved a kingdom."
"It sounds like a myth." Zhang Wei shook his head helplessly, but he became more and more curious about the exploration of this cave.
At this moment, Li Ming's flashlight beam shone to the end of the cave, where a faintly glowing stone could be vaguely seen, surrounded by strange energy fluctuations.
"Look! That's the Time and Space Stone!" Li Ming shouted excitedly, almost running over.
"Wait, be careful!" Zhang Wei hurried to catch up, but he felt a little uneasy. He didn't know if this stone would be the beginning of their nightmare.
Li Ming walked to the stone, and gently touched the glittering surface with his fingers, feeling a warm energy flowing through his palm. He closed his eyes, as if sensing something.
"Did you feel it?" Zhang Wei asked cautiously, his eyes full of worry.
"I... I feel a kind of power." Li Ming's voice became low and mysterious. "This stone seems to be calling me."
"We should be careful, Li Ming." Zhang Wei's voice was nervous, "We don't know what the consequences of this thing will be."
"I know, but this may be the only chance in our lifetime." Li Ming's eyes flashed with determination. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and silently recited the spell about the Time and Space Stone in the ancient book.
As Li Ming's spell sounded, the Time and Space Stone began to emit a dazzling light, and the entire cave seemed to be shaking. Zhang Wei retreated in horror, his eyes full of disbelief.
"Li Ming! What are you doing!" he shouted loudly, but Li Ming was completely immersed in the power, and the scene around him began to distort, as if the whole world was collapsing.
"I can feel the echoes of history!" Li Ming's voice echoed in the cave, "We want to go back in time to witness those great moments!"
At this moment, a strong light surrounded the two people, and instantly dragged them into the vortex of time and space. Li Ming and Zhang Wei's bodies were twisted in the light, and everything around them was changing rapidly.
When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in an ancient city. The streets were lined with houses made of blue bricks, the air was filled with the scent of spices and fireworks, and people in ancient costumes were busy and happy.
"We... succeeded?" Zhang Wei looked around in shock, his heart filled with disbelief.
"This is... ancient Chang'an!" Li Ming said excitedly, his eyes sparkling. "We really have returned to the scene of history!"
"But how are we going to get back?" Zhang Wei's face turned pale and he felt vaguely uneasy.
"I don't know, but we can explore it first." Li Ming's eyes were firm, "Maybe there are the clues we need here."
The two walked on the street, feeling the ancient atmosphere, and the street vendors greeted them warmly, selling all kinds of goods. Li Ming's eyes were attracted by a woman who was weaving embroidery.
"Hello, girl." Li Ming walked forward and tried to greet her using ancient etiquette.
"Hello, sir." The woman looked up and smiled slightly, revealing her white teeth. "Are you from outside the city?"
"Yes, we...we come here to play." Li Ming stuttered a little, secretly sighing at the beauty of this era in his heart.
“Travel? This is a good place.” The woman’s eyes sparkled. “If you want to learn more, you can go to the market in the city. There are many interesting stories there.”
"Thank you!" Zhang Wei interrupted quickly, but he was thinking about their mission. They were not here to have fun, but to find a way to get back.
"Let's go to the market first." Li Ming suggested, his heart full of yearning for this ancient world.
"Okay, but we have to be careful." Zhang Wei nodded, secretly alert in his heart.
