Spy Wars: I can get rewards by being a bully!

After working in Bazhou for almost two months, Han Dagang was finally replaced and returned to Tianjin.

This long absence from home wasn't in vain. Based on his position and performance, he received a stipend of seven silver dollars, which was no small sum. By the end of the year, this money could buy him and his wife two new sets of clothes each, or perhaps a few lavish meals at a fancy restaurant. Of course, Han Dagang didn't want to spend the money so quickly; he planned to save it for later, as there would be many more expenses in the future!

In a small courtyard in the back alley of Zizhulin Wharf, the yard was so clean that in a corner, a few speckled chickens were pecking at food inside a fenced-off area.

It was noon when a young and healthy-looking woman with her hair tied up came out of the house carrying a ceramic plate, presumably to cook.

Upon seeing Han Dagang standing smiling at the door, the woman exclaimed in surprise, nearly dropping the plate in her hand. She quickly put it down and ran over in a few steps.

"Da Gang! You heartless bastard, you've been gone for two months! I thought you'd made it big and abandoned me, and found another family!"

Han Dagang put his arm around his wife and said, "Second sister, what are you saying? We left in a bit of a hurry, but it was an order from above. We had no choice but to go. Let me tell you, this mission is very good. It can save a lot of people. It's a good deed!"

The second sister said softly, "I know, I know. You work for Master Lin. If it weren't for Master Lin, we'd probably both be working for Master Lin now. What else is there to say?"

The second sister looked up at her man and said with concern, "Dagang, you're exhausted. Go inside and rest. I'll make you some food."

Han Dagang's eyes swept over the plate on the ground, noticing only a few vegetable pancakes inside. "You eat this while I'm not home?"

As he spoke, he pulled out a silver dollar from his pocket. “Look, this time, for disaster relief, not only will my salary be paid as usual, but I will also receive a stipend. This money is for you. You can buy whatever you want, or save it if you want. Having some cash on hand will make everything easier.”

"I don't want it. When you're working outside, just buy a minced meat pancake to tide you over when you're hungry. Looking at his wife, who was so devoted to him, Han Dagang tightened his grip on her arm and then smiled, "Second sister, I've been away from home for so long, now's not the time to cook!"

He then picked up his wife and carried her into the house.

The second sister forced a laugh and spat, "In broad daylight!"

Subsequently, they allowed Han Dagang to do as he pleased.

An hour or so later, the second sister restyled her hair and went to the stove to cook, looking radiant.

Han Dagang ate his meal and took a nap. In the evening, he was woken up by his second sister.

"Da Gang, Da Gang, Captain Qi is here, he's right at the door."

Han Dagang didn't react for a moment, "Captain Qi?"

He then sat up and put on his clothes. "Perhaps there's some urgent matter at the dock?"

He threw on his coat and went out to the gate. "Captain Qi, you've arrived? Please come in. Is there something wrong at the dock?"

Captain Qi stood at the door and said with a smile, "Old Han, there are women around, so I won't go in. It's not that there's anything going on at the dock, but rather that you have something going on, something good!"

"Captain Qi, don't tease me. I just got back, what good news could I possibly have?"

"Why would I tease you! Let me tell you, there's a notice from above that there's going to be some kind of commendation meeting at the North China Transportation Corporation tomorrow! It's almost Chinese New Year, and they're saying they're going to commend the outstanding individuals, and your name, Han Dagang, is on the list! Remember, I'm coming to pick you up for the meeting tomorrow, so dress neatly and cleanly! Commander Lin might personally give you the award!"

Han Dagang stood at the door, still in a daze, with only one thought in his mind: "Commander Lin is going to personally give you the award!"

After Captain Qi left, Han Dagang rushed into the house, his eyes red.

The second sister was startled. "Da Gang, Da Gang, what happened!"

"Quick, quick, the work clothes!"

The second sister quickly found her work clothes. "You've been away from home for a while, so I washed them and put them away. It's already this late, why are you looking for your work clothes?"

Han Dagang felt relieved when he saw that his work clothes were clean. If the work clothes hadn't been washed, it would be difficult to dry them tomorrow.

After returning home clean and tidy, I folded my work clothes and trousers and put them under my pillow. That night, I tossed and turned and couldn't fall asleep.

The next morning, Captain Qi came to pick up Han Dagang and was very satisfied with how neatly he had dressed.

"Dagang, that's enough! You've brought honor to our squadron and our dock! Come on, I'll take you there on my bicycle!"

Captain Qi escorted Han Dagang all the way to the auditorium of the North China Transportation Corporation.

Han Dagang registered in a daze, was given a red flower, and was then led by staff to sit down in the front row. They told him when to go up to receive his award and that someone would remind him.

At 10:00 AM, the commendation ceremony for the North China Transportation Corporation system began on time.

Master Lin is out!

The audience erupted in enthusiastic applause. Han Dagang clapped so hard that his hands hurt, but he didn't stop.

As with other companies, Hayashi Ze spoke very little; Yoshimura Yuta did most of the talking.

After the presentation, it was finally time to give out the awards.

In addition to recognizing outstanding representatives in their work, this time a special award was added for excellent completion of tasks assigned by superiors.

This award is actually specifically for recognizing staff who have made outstanding contributions to disaster relief. However, it was not appropriate to hold a separate disaster relief commendation conference, so it was held together with the conference of the North China Development Corporation.

Han Dagang's mind went blank, and he went on stage under the guidance of the staff.
