Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 239 Night Talk in the Principal's Office

Harry opened the old Potions textbook and was greeted by a musty smell.

The pages of the book are yellowed and the corners are curled, obviously having experienced the baptism of time.

On the title page was written in crooked handwriting: "This book is the property of the Half-Blood Prince."

Harry couldn't help but curl his lips and secretly complained: What a childish guy.

He casually turned to the next page and what caught his eye was densely packed notes.

Harry didn't think much of it at first, thinking it was just some doodle by the previous user.

However, after reading carefully, he was surprised to find that these notes were well-organized and logically rigorous. Not only did they provide detailed annotations on the textbook content, but they also provided in-depth discussions on some difficult problems.

Even some errors in the book have been carefully corrected.

Harry seemed to have discovered a new world, and he immediately developed a strong interest in this "Half-Blood Prince" whom he had never met before.

He couldn't wait to flip through the contents of the book, greedily absorbing the knowledge in the notes.

When preparing the water of life and death, Harry did not hesitate to refer to the notes of the "Half-Blood Prince" and made slight adjustments to the steps in the book.

The other students strictly followed the steps in the textbook, but unsurprisingly, all failed. All kinds of strange smoke and unpleasant smells came out of their crucibles.

Only Harry's crucible exuded a faint fragrance, and he finally successfully prepared the water of life and death.

Professor Horace carefully examined Harry's work and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

He kept his promise and solemnly placed the bottle of crystal clear lucky water in Harry's hands.

……

As night falls, Hogwarts is shrouded in silence, and the ancient castle seems even more mysterious.

Dumbledore called Harry to his office, which was filled with the familiar scent of lemon.

Dumbledore handed Harry a cup of steaming honey tea, then looked at Harry with his wise and deep eyes.

He slowly pulled a jar full of silver memories from a drawer and motioned for Harry to put his face close to the Pensieve.

With a familiar feeling of dizziness, Harry entered an unfamiliar memory fragment.

He saw a thin little boy playing alone in a corner of the orphanage.

The little boy had messy black hair and a pair of sharp eyes, which were filled with indifference and loneliness that did not match his age.

He can effortlessly make objects disappear, make flowers bloom instantly, and even talk to snakes...

These strange abilities made him stand out in the orphanage. The children were afraid of him and called him a freak.

Dumbledore then appears, talking gently to the little boy and eventually bringing him to Hogwarts.

In Hogwarts, the little boy showed amazing magical talent and he soon became a celebrity in the school.

He had an unusual relationship with the then Potions professor Horace Slughorn, and the two often communicated privately outside of class.

The scene before him dissipated like fog, and when Harry came to his senses, he found himself back in the headmaster's office.

Dumbledore told Harry that Voldemort had revealed a crucial secret to Horace when they were students, and this secret might be related to important clues to destroy Voldemort.

Therefore, Dumbledore hoped that Harry could find a way to get close to Horace and learn the secret from him.

Harry nodded, straightened his back, looked Dumbledore in the eyes firmly, and said seriously: "Please rest assured, Headmaster, I will do my best to complete this task!"

Harry closed the office door gently, turned and left, his figure disappearing into the shadows of the corridor.

Almost at the same time, Salina walked down the spiral staircase connecting to the office.

She walked lightly, like a ray of moonlight, and came to Dumbledore's side silently.

"Harry carries with him a reputation that Horace will never give up, and at the same time, he has always favored talented students," Dumbledore said softly, his eyes falling on Salina with a hint of expectation, "Salina, your outstanding academic performance is obvious to all. I believe you will be able to win his favor."

Salina nodded and said, "Principal, please rest assured. I will find an opportunity to get close to Professor Horace and try my best to get the information you need from him."

However, Dumbledore raised his hand, signaling that she need not continue.

"Salina, I understand," he said in a gentle tone, but with a wisdom that sees through everything, "you seem to be hiding many secrets."

The smile on Salina's face froze slightly and she was silent for a moment.

Dumbledore seemed to see through her thoughts, and his tone became softer. "Child, I have no intention of exploring your past. I can see that you have a kind heart, and you would not do anything to hurt others."

He paused, his eyes full of trust and expectation, "I only have one request."

"What request?" Salina raised her head and looked directly into Dumbledore's deep eyes.

"Child, I hope you can try to trust me more," Dumbledore said earnestly, "just as I trust you."

He paused, then added, "And, take care of Harry."

Serena nodded gently, "I will, Headmaster. I will always stand by Harry's side."

……

The autumn sunshine filled the Quidditch field, adding a touch of warmth and vitality to the annual team selection.

There were only a few spectators in the stands, one of whom was Hermione.

On the field, a Gryffindor boy was agile and sharp-eyed. He rode his broom and moved flexibly in the air like a light swallow.

Every accurate catch and beautiful dodge of his won warm applause from the audience.

In comparison, although Ron's reaction was not slow, his movements seemed a bit clumsy. He tried hard to chase the trajectory of the Quaffle in the air, but he was always just a little bit off.

Hermione sat in the stands with a frown on her face, her eyes fixed on Ron, her heart filled with worry and anxiety.

Seeing Ron frustrated by his mistakes again and again, Hermione secretly decided to help him.

She calmly took out her wand from her pocket, waved it gently a few times, and uttered a short spell with her lips slightly moving.

Almost at the same time, Ron's rival suddenly felt the broom in his hand shake violently. Before he could react, a Quaffle flew over him and into the net.

This cost him some points, so the final result was that Ron took the lead and kept his position as goalkeeper.
