Forensic Doctor: Finding the Way Back to the Mystery of Ancient Realms

Chapter 102 The fog gradually dissipates and the truth emerges

The moonlight was dim, and the iron gate of the abandoned factory creaked in the night wind. Xu Youran and Situ Han led a team of police officers and quietly surrounded this forgotten place.

Xu Youran (holding a flashlight, lighting the way ahead): "Everyone be careful, there may be a lot of traps hidden in this place."

Situ Han (looking around, frowning): "Pay attention to the ground under your feet, some areas may have been dug out."

As they went deeper, they found a hidden warehouse entrance with a faint light coming through the crack of the door. Situ Han gently pushed the door open, and a pungent smell of chemicals hit him in the face.

The S City police representative (whispering): "Commander, this is the scene of an illegal transaction. The drugs are scattered all over the floor, and the transaction records are also scattered among them."

Xu Youran quickly flipped through the transaction records. The numbers and dates on them made her heart tighten. The time span and quantity of these transactions were far beyond their imagination.

Xu Youran (pondering for a moment): "These records show that this trading network has existed for many years. We must find its source."

With the assistance of the police, they carefully searched every corner of the warehouse and found not only a large amount of unopened morphine and other illegal drugs, but also several old pharmaceutical equipment.

Situ Han (pointing at the label on the equipment): "Look here, these devices are from Germany, and they are custom-made. This shows that the forces behind them are not simple."

In the interrogation room, one of the arrested suspects, a middle-aged man with stubble on his face, seemed extremely nervous when facing the interrogation.

Xu Youran (with sharp eyes): "Tell me, where did you get these drugs?"

Suspect (eyes flickering): "I... I don't know, we were just following orders."

Situ Han (calmly interjected): "Don't lie, you know much more than you think. If you speak out now, you may be able to get leniency."

Under Situ Han's majesty and Xu Youran's patient persuasion, the suspect finally gave in and revealed more information.

Suspect (voice trembling): "It was a mysterious organization. They contacted us and asked us to be responsible for selling these drugs. I heard that the leader of that organization was related to the murder case thirty years ago."

Based on the suspect's confession, Xu Youran and Situ Han decided to visit the victim's family, hoping to find more clues.

In a simple house, they met the widow of the survivor of the murder, an elderly woman, whose eyes were full of sadness and hatred.

Old woman (tearful eyes): "My husband and family died in unclear circumstances. For so many years I have been trying to seek justice for them. But the murderers are too powerful and I cannot defeat them at all."

Xu Youran (holding her hand gently): "Grandma, don't worry, we will find out the truth and give your family justice."

From the old woman's story, they learned a key piece of information - before the murder, the victim's family received an anonymous letter which mentioned a mysterious number and code.

With this clue, Xu Youran and Situ Han began to track down the suspects related to the murder case. They found that most of these suspects had changed their appearances and were hiding in various corners of S City.

After a series of investigations and surveillance, they finally locked on a suspected key figure - a businessman named Li Hao, who appeared to be a legitimate businessman, but in fact had ties with multiple illegal organizations.

However, when the police were about to arrest Li Hao, they found that he had escaped in advance, leaving behind only a string of mysterious numbers and a provocative letter.

Situ Han (looking at the contents of the letter, frowning): "This number again, what does it mean?"

Xu Youran (pondering): "We can't let him get away with it. We must continue our investigation."

When the case reached a stalemate, the S City police gave them full support and mobilized more police forces to conduct a carpet search of S City.

The S City Police Representative (said firmly): "Commander, Miss Xu, please rest assured that we will definitely assist you in catching the mastermind behind this."

After several days of efforts, the police finally found Li Hao's hiding place - an abandoned villa on the outskirts of S City.

When Xu Youran, Situ Han and their men rushed to the villa, they found it empty, with only some messy clues and a half-burned map left.

Xu Youran (picking up the map fragments and piecing them together carefully): "This map... seems to be a route map leading to a secret place."

Situ Han (with a sharp gaze): "No matter where that place is, we must go find out."

Following the guidance of the map fragments, Xu Youran and Situ Han led a team of capable police officers through the rugged mountain roads and came to an ancient manor hidden in the mountains. The gate of the manor was closed, and the copper ring on the door was covered with traces of time.

Xu Youran (gently pushed open the door, the hinges made a harsh creaking sound): "Is this the end of all mysteries?"

Although the interior of the manor has been in disrepair for many years, one can still see its former glory. They walked along the corridor, and each step seemed extremely heavy, as if they were stepping on the dust of history.

Situ Han (looking around warily): "Everyone be careful, this place may be full of traps."

Sure enough, they encountered many obstacles in front of a secret room. The door of the secret room was covered with complicated locks, which was obviously not easy to open.

Xu Youran (looking at the lock carefully, frowning): "These mechanisms are ingeniously designed and require specific methods to unlock."

Just when everyone was at a loss, Xu Youran suddenly remembered the mysterious number and password mentioned by the old woman. She tried to input the number into the lock, and with a slight mechanical turning sound, the door of the secret room slowly opened.

Inside the secret room, the light was dim and the air was filled with an old atmosphere. The walls were covered with portraits, each of which recorded the rise and fall of the family. In the center of the room, there was an old wooden box with intricate totems carved on it.

Situ Han (walks forward and opens the wooden box, inside is a stack of yellowed documents and a letter): "These documents may be the key to solving all the mysteries."

They quickly flipped through the documents and found that they recorded the whole truth of the family murder case thirty years ago, as well as how the mysterious organization used illegal drugs to control people's minds and make huge profits.

At the bottom of the file, an unopened letter caught their attention. The familiar handwriting on the envelope made Xu Youran and Situ Han feel a little nervous.

Xu Youran (slowly opened the envelope and read): "Dear Youran, when you read this letter, I will no longer be alive. But I want to tell you that this organization is far more powerful than we imagined. The forces behind it are intricate and even touch the top military and police. I hope you can continue to investigate and fight for the peace of S City and justice for the innocent. Remember, that mysterious number is a secret that our family has guarded for generations. It is both a curse and a hope..."

The letter ended abruptly here, but its content made Xu Youran and Situ Han feel unprecedented pressure and challenges.

Just as they were about to leave the secret room, a burst of hurried footsteps broke the tranquility of the manor. The group quickly hid, only to see several dark shadows rushing into the manor and heading straight for the secret room.

Situ Han (whispering to Xu Youran): "It seems that our whereabouts have been exposed. These people are likely the remnants of that organization."

After a fierce confrontation, although they successfully repelled the invading enemy, Xu Youran and Situ Han also realized that the battle was far from over.

Xu Youran (clenched fists, eyes firm): "No matter how powerful they are, we will not give up. For the future of S City and for the souls of those innocent people, we must continue to track them down."

Just as they were about to leave the manor, a gust of wind blew over and dropped a long-forgotten photo. In the photo, a young woman was smiling at them, and her face was surprisingly similar to the vicious female supporting role Su Wanqing.

Situ Han (picking up the photo, frowning): "This photo... Could it be that Su Wanqing is also related to this organization?"

Xu Youran (staring at the photo with an ominous feeling in her heart): "It seems that our enemy is far more complicated and cunning than we imagined."
