Cloud Thinking

Chapter 67 Lucky or Unlucky

Elroy finally got off the car because he couldn't stand the brother-sister relationship between Blot and Helia.

Since setting out on the journey, Helia has been in a state of sleeping and waking up again. Even though she did not do any strenuous exercise, the bumpy ride still made her feel very uncomfortable, and she even suffered from motion sickness for no apparent reason.

It was clearly not there when she came to Berman... Helia once again vomited out all the food she had eaten, until she could no longer vomit anything. She felt so exhausted that she seemed to be dying. Her hands and feet had no strength, and she had to trouble Ronnie to wipe her face.

The accompanying doctor also came to see her and prescribed some medicine, but Helia felt that it was of no use. She kept vomiting and couldn't stop. Even the healing magician was helpless.

The entire team had to stop and go because Helia was vomiting from time to time. If this continued, it would take ten days to complete the journey that could be completed in three days.

The chef specially prepared some stomach-nourishing porridge for Helia, but Helia had no appetite at all. After much persuasion, Blot persuaded her to drink half a bowl, but after that, she could not be fed anymore.

When Hawke arrived, Helia was curled up in the carriage wrapped in a blanket with her eyes closed, but she looked very uncomfortable. She had only walked for a day and a half, but her cheeks were so thin that they were slightly sunken. If you didn't know her, you would think she was a refugee.

Like a little mouse… Hawke thought.

He squeezed his big body into the carriage, sat across from Helia with his legs crossed, pushed the callus in front of him, and asked with concern, "Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

"Uh... well..." Helia groaned as she shrank back again.

"How about I drop you off at a nearby town, let Blot and Elroy accompany you, and then I'll send someone back to pick you up?" Hawke said. Although he didn't bring many people this time, and there was nothing urgent for him to deal with at the border, he couldn't let a team of people drag on the road because of Helia alone.

Helia shook her head, but because her head was covered by the quilt, Hawke only saw her move, and he couldn't tell whether she agreed or disagreed.

"Now it's true what Eric described about you, you're really very pampered." Hawke didn't expect that Helia, who was so lively in the academy and went to the roof every other day to wait for him, would be so weak after a trip to the gates of hell. She looked half dead, and he didn't know whether she came here to enjoy herself or to suffer.

"I'm already feeling so bad... why are you still blaming me..." Helia retorted, trying to suppress the discomfort in her stomach. Although she was a little angry, she was so weak that her voice was weak, and she sounded like she was just acting like a spoiled child.

"Come on, since you're a patient, I won't say anything to you now. Have a good rest. I'll call you when we get to the place." Hawke touched Helia's head accurately, rubbed it, and then got out of the car.

I don’t know what’s wrong with him, but Hawke always likes to touch her hair. Could it be that he is bald like Teacher Mobichues, so he is particularly envious of her hair?

Haven't you heard that Antonio's family has a baldness gene?

Finally, Helia was dropped off in a small town they passed by. Blot and Elroy accompanied her to stay at the mayor's house, and Hawke also assigned a team of elite soldiers to accompany her.

The residents of the town were all ordinary people. They had never seen a big shot like Helia Hawke, let alone a big shot like him. They had never seen a high-ranking official before. They were all a little scared when so many people suddenly came. However, the mayor's family was very welcoming.

When the mayor's wife heard that Helia was carsick and vomiting non-stop, she asked her children to make her some medicine. "Miss, I made you some medicine. It's a local remedy that's very effective in stopping vomiting."

Helia took the bowl of black medicine. The smell made her gag. For safety reasons, Blot declined their offer and placed Helia in a clean room to let her have a good rest.

In her drowsiness, Helia seemed to hear someone calling her name. She wanted to respond, but found that her throat seemed to be blocked and she couldn't shout. She wanted to open her eyes, but her eyelids seemed to be filled with lead and she couldn't lift them up. The same went for her hands and feet. She couldn't move.

Is it sleep paralysis?

"Helia... Helia... Helia..." The voice was still calling her name over and over again. She was getting annoyed, but her body was out of control and there was no one in the room to serve her. She was really shouting to the sky and the earth for help but no one would respond.

"Helia."

She felt someone tapped her forehead, and the pain suddenly brought back all her consciousness. She sat up suddenly, and the silk ribbon covering her eyes had disappeared. She opened her eyes wide and looked around, and found herself in a completely unfamiliar environment.

Was she knocked unconscious and kidnapped? Could it be those seemingly simple townspeople? They knew my identity, so they kidnapped me to threaten Claude and Hawke?

Suddenly, a pair of hands gently rested on her shoulders, and an ethereal and distant voice sounded in her ears: "Helia, it's so hard to see you."

Helia froze and didn't dare to look back. In horror movies, when this happened, the enemy would usually turn around and kill her.

She swallowed hard, trying to hold back her fear of screaming, and asked, "Excuse me, who are you...?"

"Haha——" A laugh like a silver bell sounded, and the man behind her slowly walked around to her. Helia was thinking about turning back to kill him, and seeing that no matter what the ghost looked like, it was hard to escape death, she immediately lowered her head and didn't look at the other person.

"Don't you claim to be my most devout believer? How could you not recognize me?" the man said.

Uh... I have said this to many gods. As someone who always makes promises to others, I can't remember which god I have said this to...

Helia could only see the bare feet faintly visible under the other person's long skirt. There seemed to be a red rope tied around the ankle. Combined with the other person's voice, she guessed the other person's identity in a moment.

But Helia was still a little uncertain. After all, she had not had much contact with this goddess. "Goddess of Luck?"

"It's me, are you dissatisfied?" Sphentanya stared at the whorl on Helia's head with interest, and couldn't help but poked it with her finger, gently circling it.

Helia was so confused by the other party's action that she couldn't look up or down. She could only sit there stiffly and let the other party play with her hair.

Why does this goddess of luck not seem as cool as rumored? She even looks a little childish?

"Aren't you going to ask me why I'm here?" Having had enough fun, Sphentenia naturally did not forget the purpose of why she had gone to such great lengths to meet Helia.

"To be honest, I have many, many questions I want to ask you, but I'm not sure if I can get your answers." Helia said honestly.

"We still have a lot of time, you can ask one by one. As for the answers, it depends on my mood." Sphentenia replied.

It depends on my mood again! Usually, when Helia hears this, she basically knows that there is no hope. What, do I have to perform a fancy trick to please you?

"Then I'll ask it with all my heart." After getting permission to ask, Helia cleared her throat and blurted out all her questions.

"Why was I so unlucky in the third game? I clearly prayed to you. Even if you didn't grant me some luck, you didn't have to take away all my luck. Isn't that unfair?"

"And why are you here? Where is this place? How did you appear here? Are you here in your true form? Will the God of Order notice? Am I safe here? Do you want to kill me?"

"I'd like to make it clear in advance that you can't kill me. If you kill me, the remaining will of Watersise in my body will be revived. I think a small human like me will be easier to control than the God of War. In addition, there is a former sky god Adalesi in my body. Although he is asleep now, he probably won't stand idly by if my life is in danger. It's probably difficult for you to kill me, so I suggest you don't have this idea."

Sfintenia was overwhelmed by her string of words. She looked so quiet, so why did she talk so much?

"Stop, don't you understand what I'm saying? Ask one by one." He held his forehead and said.

"Oh, okay, then why are you here? I haven't been to your temple to pray recently." Helia asked.

"Don't you already know the answer to this question? Why are you asking me?" Sphentanya asked back.

……

Of course I have a guess in my mind! But guesses are guesses, facts are facts. Isn't this the reason I asked you for verification? And you asked me the other way around?

"How can I, a small believer, guess what you, the great one, are thinking? Is it for the fragments of the fallen god in my body? Or for me?" Helia planned to say something nice to appease the other party, so that the other party would not make jokes and not answer the questions properly next time.

"Both," Sphentania replied.

"Then how did you bring me here?" As soon as the question was asked, Helia almost thought of the answer, and her hand unconsciously touched the gem lying on her chest - the gift given to her by Karzer.

"Your little friend really cares about you. He kneels before my statue day and night and prays to me devoutly, just to wake you up soon."

"This is an empty place. As long as you don't make any big noise, the Order can't see here. I'm not here in my true form, so you don't have to worry about what I will do to you."

"I came here this time just to talk to you and make a deal."

"Of course, I'm not as overbearing as Adalesi. Whether you agree or not, I won't make things difficult for you."

Perhaps he didn't want to listen to Helia's questions anymore, or perhaps Helia really made him happy, so he answered several questions in a row.

"What do you want?" Out of caution, Helia did not look up at the other person. The last time William Tanlis left a big shadow on her, and she decided not to look at him again.

It’s strange to say, I clearly saw Adalasis’s true form, and even had an unwilling kiss with Him, so how come I was fine at that time?

"I'll give you two choices." Sphentanya went back behind Helia and put her long arms around her shoulders. This intimate gesture made her scalp tingle and her skin covered with goose bumps.

"First, if you give me the fragment of Watersiser, I will grant you a perfect and ordinary heart and help you change your fate so that you can live the rest of your life in peace. You only need to contribute some strength, and you can have a healthy and happy life."

"Second, if you continue to carry the fragments with you, and live under the watchful eyes of the gods, fighting against the heavens, the earth, humans, and gods, I can guarantee that you will not have a good ending."

Helia was not dazzled by this pie that fell from the sky. The conditions given to her by the goddess of luck were so good that she could not complain. But who knew whether this was really a big pie?

"You mean, the huge amount of magic power in my body now comes from the fragments of the Fallen God. If you take it away, I will become an ordinary person again, right?" Helia asked.

"You can still continue to learn magic, but you definitely won't have as much power as before," Sphentenea replied.

"But... the power of fate lies in the hands of the God of Order. How can you change my fate for me?"

"I was not called the goddess of luck. People in the past called me the goddess of fate." Sphenania replied, "The power of fate belongs to me."
