Cloud Thinking

Chapter 11: Who is your mistress?

Seeing Helia suddenly shivering all over, Vikes thought she had caught a cold. But no matter how he called out to her, Helia didn't seem to hear him. It was as if she was possessed by something. He had no choice but to grab Helia's wrist and squeezed it gently, "Bailai! What's wrong with you!"

Boom, boom, boom—Helia could hear the sound of her own heartbeat, which was so powerful, as if it contained infinite strength. The blood flowed throughout her body, so silently, yet so surging.

She felt a ball of fire in her body. Although it was very small, it was exceptionally bright, much like the small flame she summoned using magic for the first time. Even though it was so weak that it could be dispersed by a breath of air, it still burned tenaciously and stood firm there. No matter how the world suppressed it, as long as she was given another breath of air, she would be able to emerge.

"Beleyi!" Vikes grabbed Helia's wrist with force. The pain made her eyes clear and finally brought her consciousness back.

"What's wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell? Or have you run out of magic power? Do you need to see a doctor?" Weikes shook her hand and asked with concern.

Looking at Vikes's flustered and anxious face, Helia forced a smile, shook her head, and replied, "I'm fine, I was just lost in thought." She pulled her hand out of his, looked at the red mark on it, frowned unhappily, and rubbed it gently with her other hand.

"I'm sorry, I didn't control the strength well..." Before Vikes could finish his apology, he was interrupted by Helia: "It's my physical condition. I have been weak since I was a child and easily injured. It has nothing to do with you, senior."

She just hated her body for being so weak that it could be easily controlled by others. What great things could she accomplish in the future?

"That's my fault too. I shouldn't have done it so easily. I'm sorry for offending you." Vikes said seriously. Seeing Helia looking at him, he turned his head away unnaturally. "I haven't had much contact with girls before. I don't know how to get along with girls. If you feel that my behavior has caused you trouble, please tell me directly. I will change."

Helia felt respected here at Vikes, even if it wasn't much and it might just be perfunctory words to her, but she was still sincerely happy.

"Okay, if possible, please don't touch me casually in the future, it makes me feel uncomfortable." Helia said seriously.

"Okay, I'll remember it. If I fail to do it in the future, you can just teach me a lesson. I won't blame you." Weikes nodded, indicating that he understood.

Perhaps it was because of this meal, or perhaps it was because of something else, the relationship between Vikes and Helia was better than before. This was reflected in the fact that the two of them often made plans for dinner, helped each other with training, and occasionally went to the bazaar to buy things together.

And just as he said that day, Vikes never touched Helia casually again. Even if he had to touch her, he would inform her in advance and only do so after getting her permission.

"Beile, do you know why all magicians must use magic wands to cast magic?"

Mobichues got Helia's academic transcript from somewhere. Looking at the scores on it, the old man almost fainted. Logically speaking, since Helia was so good at magic, her academic scores should not be bad. How can you practice without theory? But Helia didn't know what was wrong with her brain. She just couldn't learn the ancient language, the history of the magic world, and common sense. She was depressed!

Therefore, in addition to teaching her magic every day, Mobicius would also randomly check her knowledge of cultural subjects. As long as she couldn't answer the question or answered it incorrectly, she would copy it ten times on the spot. If she still couldn't recite it after copying it, she would continue copying. As a result, every time Helia returned from Mobicius's place, her hands were shaking so much that she couldn't hold the knife and fork steadily. It was not because she was tired from holding Theodore, but because she was numb from copying.

"Because magic power cannot be released in the human body, it must go through a certain medium, otherwise the uncontrolled magic power will explode in the body!" Helia immediately raised her hand and answered. After all these days, she finally came across a question that she could answer.

As the saying goes, interest is the best teacher. Long before entering school, Helia asked Britney many common sense questions about the wizarding world. She has always been curious about the rule that "magicians cannot use magic without a magic wand". In the comic novels she has read, many magic can be cast by just chanting spells, or even without spells or magic wands. There is too much messy and useless knowledge in her mind, which makes her a little confused.

"Whether you are a beginner or an old hand like me, it is impossible to accurately control the magic power at all times. If you don't use a magic wand, but only release magic from your hands or any part of the body, once the control is weakened, the uncontrolled part of the magic power will explode in the human body, and you will turn into a bloody paste!" Britney explained.

"And the magic wand can carry a certain amount of magic power. Even if your control over the magic power fluctuates, the magic wand can bear the uncontrolled part of the magic power, so it won't explode immediately."

"Besides the magic wand, is there anything else that can carry magic power?" Helia asked.

"Anything that contains magic power can carry magic power, like the spirit-gathering wood we use to make magic wands. It is a species that has a great affinity with natural elements. It can absorb elemental power and naturally can carry magic power." Britney replied.

"Do you have to recite the spell when casting magic? Is it possible not to recite it?" Helia asked again.

Britney felt helpless facing Helia, a "problematic girl". Ever since this girl saw her cast magic, the way she looked at her changed. Now she stared at her with wide eyes like a puppy. She had never been able to resist beautiful women, let alone a face that she had sculpted herself. She couldn't refuse it at all!

"It is said that the great magicians in ancient times did not need to chant spells to cast magic, but most of those great magicians were gods walking on the earth. They were part of nature and could mobilize elemental forces at will, so they naturally did not need to chant spells." She explained seriously: "All magicians after that, even the elves are no exception, need to chant spells to obtain the response of natural elemental forces before they can cast magic."

Helia nodded, not quite understanding. Although she had already made up for the history of the wizarding world, it was obvious that she didn't know enough, and the royal family didn't know enough either, otherwise there wouldn't be so much common sense about the wizarding world that was not recorded in the books in the palace library.

When Mobichues heard the answer, he felt tears welling up in his eyes for some reason. He was not so excited when Vikes used magic for the first time. Could it be that the little princess was more difficult to teach than Vikes?

He nodded with relief and raised his hand to wipe away the tears that didn't even exist. "Finally I answered one. It wasn't easy!"

Helia also nodded, and she seemed quite emotional. "Yes. It's really not easy!"

Mobichues slapped her on the back of the head, and the touch of emotion just now disappeared in an instant. He pointed at the disappointing Helia and said angrily: "These are all common sense! It's normal for you to know! You are still moved by yourself! Go back to practice!"

"Hiss——" Helia rubbed her head which was buzzing from being slapped. Mobichues's strength was getting stronger day by day. Did he completely disregard his own status?

Before leaving, Helia couldn't help but say something rude, "Teacher, it's rare that I got a question right. As a reward, today's practice will be halved."

It would have been fine if she hadn't said anything. Once she said it, Mobichues got even angrier. If he had hair on his head, it would have stood up in anger. He raised his hand and summoned his magic wand, rushing towards Helia while muttering, "You stupid boy, wait and see how I reward you!"

"Teacher, you don't look like you're going to reward me, but send me off!" Helia didn't hesitate for a moment, picked up Theodore and ran. When the old man swung his magic wand, it would be dark when she opened her eyes again! If she had known that Mobichues was a squib, she wouldn't have stepped on him. Now, she broke her own foot!

"Stop! You little bastard, you only got 59 points in the exam, but you really think you passed! And you dare to ask me for a reward! I want to see what's in your head!" Mobichues chased after him and cursed.

Mobichues's temper is now becoming more and more like that of his youth. He could have enjoyed the rest of his life in peace and quiet. After all, Vikas is a very worry-free child. He doesn't even need to teach him, and he has grown up very well, which makes him proud. He also doesn't need to worry about those projects. The students under him care more about them than he does. They all want to rely on this to pass the graduation examination, and they must care more about it than him, who is only interested in funding.

But he happened to meet Helia. It would be nice if Helia was as well-behaved as when they first met, but who knew that this little princess was not easy to deal with? Even though Helia was very talented, he couldn't help but get angry when teaching her because of Helia's temper. He never thought that the precious little princess would be the kind of person who would get angry at the slightest hint of color! If he relaxed a little, Helia would ride on his head!

Especially after learning that Helia failed all of her cultural courses, he felt like his hair was growing out of anger. He couldn't even sleep well at night, thinking about how to teach. Occasionally, after he was angry with Helia, he would reflect on whether he was too impatient, whether he was making a fuss, or whether he didn't know how to teach students. But the next day, when he saw Helia still smiling and dealing with him, he was relieved all of a sudden.

Great, it's not his problem...

Then he asked his colleagues who had children for advice on how to discipline restless children. Everyone gave a variety of methods. After selecting several, Mobichues tried them one by one. In the end, only kindness education and corporal punishment were left. He thought for a moment and felt that corporal punishment was not so appropriate. After all, she was a princess. If he just beat her, Claude would have an objection. So he chose kindness education and even practiced in front of the mirror for several days.

But less than a day into the experiment, Helia said to him during the intermission with a complicated expression: "Teacher, you didn't really have a child outside like others said, did you?"

Mobichues resisted the urge to hit someone, smiled kindly, and said, "Beleyi is still a child, and he still believes in these outrageous things."

Who would have thought that Helia's expression changed from complicated to horrified. She quickly stepped back several steps, raised Theodore and pointed it at Mobicius, shouting, "You are definitely not the teacher! Tell me! Where did you take the teacher? Give my teacher back to me! Otherwise, don't blame me for being rude!"

Then I heard her mumbling in self-doubt: "The teacher is so old, could it be that he really used some secret recipe to have a child? Now he treats me as his son in his old age? It's so creepy..."

Mobichues felt his forehead throbbing, and the smile on his face could hardly be maintained, but he still insisted on his loving education. He waved to Helia and said, "Stop making trouble, Belai, come here quickly, we will continue training later."

"I said I always felt something was wrong during training today. How could the teacher keep looking at me and smiling so kindly? Now you are saying such things, you don't act like a teacher at all! What kind of monster are you? How dare you disguise yourself as a teacher!" Helia's expression became more and more terrified. The front end of the magic wand in her hand had already accumulated a magic circle, and she only needed to recite the spell to fire a shot at Mobichues.

"What nonsense are you talking about? The teacher just thinks that he is too strict with you. After reflecting on it, he thinks that he should teach you patiently step by step." Mobichuis was still trying to hold on. Many colleagues around him said that loving education is very effective. Why is it that this is the only effect for him? Whose problem is it? Let's try again!
