The Hero in Exile
Chapter 64 Cage
"Damn it! Stop right there."
Moran ran forward desperately. At first he thought he could find a chance to rescue Lingyu, but he didn't expect that they would leave directly after catching her.
People from the church? But the weapons they use don't look like them, and their fighting style doesn't look like them either, but this seems like an obvious trap. It's like they know about this curse but they still have to follow it. It's really infuriating.
"Why do you think he's still chasing? Is he a fool and can't see such a low-level trap?"
"How should I know? We are all working for money, so don't ask any more questions."
"Let me out, you two." Lingyu was preparing to gather magic in the iron cage, but when the magic power was about to be released, it was as if it was sucked away. After trying several times, he squatted inside and gasped for air tiredly. "What... did you do, hiss."
"Don't struggle. This is made of demon-absorbing iron. Unless you are a great wizard, it is impossible for you to break free." The robber in the carriage said leisurely.
"Yeah, you might as well tell your boyfriend to stop chasing you. Tsk, tsk, tsk, you're really affectionate."
I wanted to yell at him to stop chasing, but I turned around and saw that the distance between us and Moran was slowly widening. Come on, if we really get left behind, there would be no hope as there would be only two people trapped in the cage later.
"Brothers, we will be there soon. Stop that guy later." The captain of the robbers and his brothers took a shortcut and arrived at the point where the carriage must pass in advance, ready to stop Moran as he passed by.
"Damn it, you're not slowing down at all, ha... ha, you have to get closer or it'll be bad."
Moran relied on the natural physique of the demon race and the body trained over decades of life to barely avoid getting lost, and Lingyu was asked to carry the luggage, so he didn't have any tools on him that could be used. If he had a grappling hook, he could have hung it on the back of the car.
"It's now."
When the carriage passed an intersection, the people in the alley would find the right moment to block the road, taking out their weapons. For them, it would only take a few seconds to stop the carriage and get rid of it.
"Hey, stop right there, you guy."
"Who the hell, don't block the way." Moran said as he caught a glimpse of the hook on the waistband of the leader's pants. "Wait, don't move, give me that thing!"
The captain broke out in a cold sweat when he saw Moran running towards him. Can't he see there are so many of us? And this direction doesn't seem right.
Although he was still frightened, he still ordered his men to spread out and block the exit, and swallowed as he looked at Moran who was nearby.
Moran ran towards him in a hurry. "Huh? You want to use me as a breakthrough? No way. I'm the strongest here after all. It's a pity that you chose the wrong opponent." Facing Moran who was so close, he waved the dagger.
"I just slid and tackled."
Moran's body tilted downward, slid towards the gap between his legs, and raised his hand to take something, but he didn't pull his hand back in time and hit something soft.
"Boss... Boss, are you okay?"
"Do you think I'm fine?"
The captain covered his crotch with his hands, his facial features were almost wrinkled, he didn't dare to breathe and his face turned purple. If he hadn't practiced before, he would have been lying on the ground unconscious, but now he could only stay awake and speak.
"Hurry up and catch up, I'll come back later." The captain said in great pain.
The robbers looked at each other and started to chase after him again.
Moran had already prepared the hook and now all he had to do was hook it onto the iron fence. Moran swung the hook, aimed it at the gap in the iron cage, and threw it up with all his strength.
When the hook was about to reach the cage, its speed began to slow down and it fell downward. Damn, it was just a little bit short.
"Phew, it's so dangerous."
When Moran came to his senses, the hook had already been successfully hooked on the iron fence, and it was Lingyu who solved the problem next to him.
Lingyu grabbed the grappling hook in time.
