The Hero in Exile

Chapter 36 Double Room

"Boss, are you sure there is only one double room?"

"Yes, sir. I swear. I believe you know that everything in Ruilin is being rebuilt. People whose houses have been damaged can only come to hotels like ours to rest. It's a blessing to have a double room left."

Moran looked at the innkeeper. The innkeeper sitting behind the pedestal had an overly large waistline, which made him move slowly. The fat on his face was unforgettable, but his simple and honest face made him look like an honest man. Besides, there was no benefit for him to lie to himself. After all, the price of two single rooms was much more expensive than that of a double room.

"Stop joking, I don't want to live in the same room with this person." Lingyu showed a contemptuous expression.

"Huh, then I don't want to stay with you, a female ape!"

"What? You actually said I am." Lingyu's face turned red with anger. "Come on, let's fight it out. I will definitely kill you."

"Who's afraid? Come if you want."

Moran and Lingyu each took a step back and took up their positions. It looked like a big battle was about to take place here.

Although the boss could not sense magic, he still felt fear instinctively. According to his intuition, he absolutely could not let things continue to develop in this way.

"Why don't you two stay for one night? I'll let you know as soon as a new room is available. What do you think?"

The innkeeper stopped the two men who were about to fight.

"That's all we can do for now." Lingyu put away the fireball in his hand.

Seeing Lingyu compromise, Moran had to take a step back as well. Anyway, they could separate once there were extra rooms tomorrow.

Moran walked to the front desk, took the key chain, put down a few silver coins, turned around and went upstairs to find a room, leaving the frightened boss alone to digest what had just happened.

"This is really going to kill me." He looked towards the stairs with a hint of fear, and touched his back, which was completely wet. "I should have known not to let them in. If a fight broke out, this store would probably collapse."

The key card said "224". He found the room at the end of the corridor on the second floor. Moran walked to the door and saw "224" engraved on the wooden door. It seemed that this was the right room.

"good."

Lingyu walked around Moran who was blocking the door. "Is this what you said, okay?"

A closer look revealed that the room was like a bare house. The walls and floors were all made of wooden boards. Although there was paint on them, they no longer looked like incomprehensible works of art. Apart from a larger bed, there was a long sofa with fur on it. The most fortunate thing was that the lights here could still be turned on and there was also a bathroom.

"That only makes sense because your evaluation is unique," Lingyu joked.

"You should be content. This city has only recently resumed operation. It's good to have a place to live."

"Yes-yes-yes, got it."

After walking all day, I didn't feel anything at first, but once I relaxed, I felt extremely tired. Lingyu jumped onto the bed.

Creak, creak —

The bed groaned in pain. It wasn't because I was too heavy, it must be the bed's problem.

"Is your bed going to break?"

"Hey, what's with that look on your face? How could I possibly break the bed?" Lingyu said with a blush.

"I hope so. I'll sleep on the sofa tonight."

"Oh."

Moran lay on the sofa and prepared to rest. Lingyu turned over and looked at the ceiling. With this movement, the bed made a sound again.

"Keep your voice down, you bitch." Moran yelled without even raising his head.

"you…"

She was about to speak but then thought better of it. She was exhausted both physically and mentally and might as well take a good rest. However, the noise made by the bed reminded Lingyu of her own bed at home, which also creaked. She didn't know how they were doing over there, and in their eyes, she must be dead.
