The Hero in Exile

Chapter 172 Falling into the trap

"Haha~ You two are here so early, why don't you have breakfast first? The ceremony will be long and it will be uncomfortable if you are hungry."

Not long after dawn, the two men arrived at the door. After knocking several times, footsteps were heard from inside. When they opened the door, they saw Kaden yawning listlessly.

"Do you still need to rest, Principal? It's okay to rest later."

"It's okay. I'm just too old to endure it. But since I'm here, I'll just do it quickly."

Lingyu looked into the office and saw no sign of Phil.

"Where's Principal Fei'er?"

"Her, I saw she was too sleepy so I went to sleep in my room. Let's go to my lab."

After following Kaiden to the academy, there was a small door in an inconspicuous place with a sign saying "No Entry" on it.

It was only opened after Cadden lifted the magical restrictions.

It was very dark inside at first. For some unknown reason, the crystals on the wall automatically lit up after the three of them entered. After they walked in, they could see that there was a spiral staircase below, which was very deep and difficult to see the bottom.

After walking for a while, Cade seemed to be feeling a little bored and started talking to himself. It was common for older people to talk nonstop.

"Even after so many times, I still feel it's too deep. However, in order to prevent the noise from disturbing the academy when I'm doing experiments down there, who would be willing to walk so long otherwise?"

"If my senior brother was still here, it wouldn't take so long."

"Principal Kaideen, do you have a senior brother?"

With Kaiden's strength and age, he actually has a senior brother. However, sometimes I have also heard others say that there are people whose strength can match Kaiden's.

When Kaiden mentioned his senior brother, he felt his body sink and sighed.

"Yes, we both had a strong desire for magical knowledge. Plus, we were both the strongest magicians at the time, so we had a lot to talk about. But one time, we had a big argument over our different ideas about magic, and he left. After a few decades, his name faded from our sight."

Kaiden simply skipped over the conflict between the two, probably because he no longer wanted to recall the painful memories. Lingyu didn't plan to ask more questions, and Moran didn't care what the human said. Anyway, he couldn't beat him after he recovered his strength.

"Oh, by the way, his name is Rory Reed. Maybe you've heard of him during your travels."

"I'm sorry, Principal Cadden, we haven't heard this name along the way. We will tell him when we meet him later."

"Is that so? Thank you in advance."

The entire journey was speechless.

The space at the bottom is extremely spacious. After walking through a room full of messy piles of documents and past experimental equipment, there is an open space the size of a playground at the very end. There is also a magic circle on the ground. This should be the laboratory.

"Okay, we're finally here. Lingyu, you stand on the magic circle on the right, and Moran, you go to the one on the left."

Moran was stunned when he saw the magic circle where Lingyu needed to stand.

"What's wrong? Do you know how to cast a magic circle?"

"No, I just think you look familiar."

I always feel a vague sense of familiarity about the magic circle, but I just can't remember where it is.

"Many magic arrays look very similar but are actually very different. It seems that Mr. Moran didn't pay attention in class."

"Hurry up, Moran. You're the one who usually pushes people the most. Don't let me down at the critical moment."

Lingyu was already standing there, ready.

Forget it, I’m too lazy to think about it. Maybe I accidentally opened the book and saw it during class.

He walked to his own magic circle and took a closer look. It was indeed different from Lingyu's.

"Relax a little and don't resist the magic or it will be ineffective."

As Kaeden cast the spell, the circuits on the magic circle began to glow.

Moran felt a stream of energy gathering from outside his body into his body. He thought that as long as it reached his hands, the curse would be wiped out.

But Moran suddenly felt something was wrong. The energy suddenly became violent and rushed straight to his heart like a big hand.

Moran didn't care about anything. Years of fighting made him feel dangerous, so he used the demonic energy in his body to force the energy out.

"Fuck."

Forcing the violent energy out had caused a lot of damage to the body, and he was half exhausted and kneeling on the ground.

By the way, how is Lingyu? I looked over there and saw only a magic circle, but Lingyu was nowhere to be found.

"Where's Lingyu? Kaideen!"

Moran had already determined that Kaiden wanted to attack himself and Lingyu, so he burst out with all his might, and the magic sword tore through space and was summoned into his hand.

"Don't be so excited. She's fine. I just teleported her to a farther place. It will take some time for her to come here. After all, his forbidden magic field is too unfriendly to me. Don't you think so, Moran or the Demon King?"
