The Hero in Exile

Several days of continuous fighting did not make the soldiers exhausted but instead their morale grew stronger. The north gate where Dale was located was also easier to deal with after receiving support. On the other hand, the elemental army had launched a fierce attack at the beginning but now only sent thirty or forty elementals to harass them every day, which seemed more like a formality.

Even the east and west gates were in the same state, so much so that Bronzebeard would come to chat with him when he was bored, although he would be driven away.

In the early morning, Dale couldn't help but frown as he looked at the same congratulatory newspaper in his hand as a few days ago. There were still few losses and the elemental creatures were successfully repelled, but their fierce attack had slowed down.

The city lords were enemies of each other, but Brunson managed to unify Lionheart again and restore order. The only thing left was to become king. Now he can still spare some time to help.

"Quick! Retreat. It's the Elemental Lord who is attacking the city himself. The magicians, guards and believers should go first. The remaining soldiers should be divided into three teams. One team should go to the King and the Heroes to bring the news to them. The remaining team should stay behind to buy time for the main force."

Dale recovered from his momentary daze and issued the final orders to the soldiers who were still standing there in a daze. They could not hold the battle with their numbers, and even the weapons of mass destruction could not be preserved. Only by retaining their manpower could they have more chances.

"Let these bastards see the power of the dwarves. Follow me, everyone!"

The large army led by Dale launched a charge with the gap as the center. The fierce attack and desperate resistance even stopped the elemental army's pace.

The rear guard knew that they might not be able to turn back after this charge, but they would not stop fighting because the dwarven blood running in their veins had awakened, and their loyalty and courage would accompany them until the moment they fell.

"You are the Elemental Lord, come and see how hard your grandfather's hammer is!"

Just as Dale's giant hammer was about to fall on the lord's head, the lord blocked it with his arm at incredible speed, but the huge impact force also made him retreat a few steps and there was a slight gap on his arm.

The Elemental Lord looked at the broken arm slowly, and after a faint light, the arm was restored to its original state.

This scene scared Dell. I used all my strength to finally make a hole in it, and you told me it would be gone in the blink of an eye.

In the successive battles, the rear guard troops gradually fell. Even with their strong faith, they were still an order of magnitude behind in numbers. Moreover, the battle between Dale and the lord was overwhelming. Dale could only barely defend or dodge most of the attacks.

Dell had managed to defend himself against the blow with his giant hammer, but the powerful force still penetrated his entire body, and he had already used up all his strength just trying not to vomit.

He had no idea how many bones were broken and his internal organs were at their limit. His mouth was full of blood and his eyes were blurry and couldn't see anything clearly. All these conditions indicated that his body had reached its limit and Dell could no longer fight.

"Come on, step over your grandfather's dead body, but I believe you will roll back over my dead body one day!"

The Elemental Lord punched him without any mercy. Dale no longer had the strength to defend himself and had to take the blow.

Dell's body fell like a kite with a broken string, and finally hit the wall heavily some distance away.

With the remaining consciousness, I could hear the dense footsteps and the roar of war horses all around me. Is this the end?
