The Hero in Exile

Chapter 10 Expedition

"When will it arrive? I'm about to...vomit..."

Lingyu vomited all over the deck before she could finish her words, and sat limply beside the mast.

It has been half a year since the expedition began, and Lingyu has been marching southward with his legion. The empire has recovered all of its homeland under Lingyu's expedition. Now all that needs to be done is to cross the Endless Sea and defeat the Demon King himself.

"I'm not saying that you're so strong but you still get seasick." Phil couldn't help but tease Lingyu when he saw her expression.

"Phil, please stop talking. I was so sick that I forgot what I ate yesterday."

Since I got on the ship, I would vomit everything into the sea soon after every meal. This situation has been going on for several days. Although my magic power can replace food consumption, I still feel hungry.

"Why don't you go back to your room and rest. You're not in good condition." Phil walked to Lingyu and wanted to help her back to the bedroom.

"Not as good as me... Ugh"

Before I could finish my words, I suddenly felt nauseous and vomited into the sea again. Now I really don't know what I have eaten in the past few days.

Seeing Lingyu's stubborn look, Phil couldn't bear it and helped Lingyu to sit in a relatively stable place.

"Thank you, Phil." Lingyu no longer had the energy to speak.

"Look how tired you are. Don't I know what you are thinking?" Phil flicked Lingyu's head. "The closer we are to the demon island, the more monsters there are in this sea area, right?"

Seeing that his thoughts were exposed, he scratched his head embarrassedly, saying that it was impossible for him to have no feelings for the soldiers who had fought with him for so long. Since he had the ability, why not do more? At least that was what Lingyu thought.

"Report...report to the brave hero."

"Don't panic, what's wrong, soldier?" Lingyu stood up and asked.

While Lingyu and Phil were talking, an imperial soldier in heavy armor ran over in a hurry and fell down several times.

"Oh no, brave man. There is a sea monster about 100 meters below our ship."

The soldier said with a pale face, you know, a sea monster can easily sink a fully armed fleet, let alone a single ship.

"What a trouble. Please inform General Bowen of the current situation of his ship and ask them to stay away from us."

"Ah? But." The soldier looked at Lingyu in disbelief.

"This is an order." Lingyu said sternly.

"Yes!" After saluting, the soldier immediately went to inform others.

"That was a real ruthless guy just now." Phil said as he looked at the soldier walking away. At this time, Lingyu had returned to her original state, standing listlessly.

"There's nothing we can do. We have to evacuate immediately, otherwise it will be too chaotic when the fight starts. Sister Lao Fei will cast a magic shield on the ship."

Lingyu was not too panicked but yawned. Ever since he had finished learning what he needed to learn, the church announced the appearance of a brave man. During the battle, no matter how powerful the demon character was, he could not survive more than a round in front of him. Now he just wanted to finish the battle quickly and get some money to live his retirement life.

"You only think of me at times like this. Such large-scale magic is very tiring." Phil reluctantly walked to the other side of the ship and began to deploy a magic shield. The blue shield slowly enveloped the ship.

"The sea...the sea monster is coming!"

I don't know who shouted this, but suddenly several tentacles appeared on the sea and hit the ship. Fortunately, Phil had successfully supported the magic shield and everything was fine. The sea monster found that his attack was almost ineffective, so he lashed the warship in anger and floated to the surface.

"No matter how you look at it, it's a giant squid." After seeing the true face of the sea monster, he still complained, thinking it was a Cthulhu-style monster.

"What are you standing there for? I can't hold on any longer." Phil said with difficulty, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead. The magic shield that had been indestructible just now also began to crack under the attack.

"Help!"

"Holy Light, please save me."

The soldiers on the ship were in chaos, and some even knelt on the ground praying for a miracle.

Lingyu now slowly stood up and pulled out a sharp blade from the scabbard, which was the holy sword. "Flying in the air." Lingyu lifted his feet off the ground and flew towards the sky until the entire body of the sea monster appeared in his sight.

"Judgment Mode 50%, Sky-Splitting Slash."

In Judge Mode, when you are meditating and trying to comprehend magic, the holy sword suddenly jumps into your mind and teaches you magic.

Five sharp swords made of holy light appeared around Lingyu. The five swords were combined into one and injected into the holy sword. The moment Lingyu swung the sword, a huge magic blade flew towards the sea monster.

"The sea monster died and we survived."

"Long live the brave!"

People could hardly believe their eyes, but it was true that the sea monster was killed by the brave man, not instantly.

Lingyu landed on the ship from the air, and the lightsaber behind him dimmed until it dissipated into the air.

But this mode has a disadvantage. Although it is very powerful, the consumption is also relatively high. As mentioned earlier, 50% of the Judge consumes half of one's physical strength.

"Where's Phil?"

Using the large-scale magic just now had taken a heavy toll on her body, but she felt relieved when she heard from the soldiers that she had returned to her room to rest.
