Chapter 67 9 His Highness Chu Hanlan

After waiting for a while, the waiter brought the dishes they ordered. They did not pick up their chopsticks until the last dish was served. Instead, they pricked up their ears and listened carefully to what people around them were talking about.

As the two of them listened to the nonsense those people were saying, they found it of no help, so they stopped listening, closed their ears, and prepared to try the food here.

Suddenly, the diners sitting at the table to the left of Yun Chang'an began to discuss the recent disappearance of people.

I only heard that a few days ago, there was a pastry shop in the south of the city. A servant there was helping their boss to do a private matter. He went to a temple on a hill about ten miles outside the city to donate some incense money and never came back.

Coincidentally, most of the missing people had passed by that temple, so the government sent people to block the place and no one was allowed to approach.

Everyone in the city was talking about the fact that there was something dirty in that temple and that someone had angered the gods and Buddhas there, so they were sending down punishments to punish those who had committed sins by passing by there.

The pastry shop owner, Sun, had something to hide, so he asked his servant to go to the temple to add some incense money to ensure that his sins were reduced. Unexpectedly, his servant went there and became a scapegoat.

Shopkeeper Sun was so frightened that he quickly closed the shop and has not reopened until today.

After hearing this, Yun Changan and Chu Xiaoxiao planned to go to the temple to see what kind of ghosts and gods were causing trouble.

Without even waiting to eat the food on the table and wanting to leave, I heard the companion of the man who was speaking say that those people were killed at night and basically no one was killed during the day.

The two of them were no longer in a hurry. They sat down and discussed visiting that temple in the evening.

After a while, the two paid for the meal and left Youran Restaurant.

On the way, the two found a seemingly honest man, asked about the specific location of the temple, and then returned to the restaurant where they lived.

When the two of them just walked into the restaurant, last night's shopkeeper immediately came up to them, called them and said that their young lady had been waiting here for a long time.

When Yun Chang'an and Chu Xiaoxiao were still wondering who it was, the shopkeeper said it was the woman who sent them here yesterday.

Then they realized that it was Miss Hanlan who came to see them.

Under the guidance of the restaurant owner, they walked to the door of an extremely luxurious and spacious room. The owner knocked on the door gently, and someone inside opened the door and invited Yun Changan and Chu Xiaoxiao in.

There were three people sitting in the room, and behind them stood several maids, who must have been of unusual status.

The shopkeeper took Yun Changan and the other person into the room, then he left the room and gently closed the door.

As soon as she entered the room, Chu Xiaoxiao recognized the identities of the two men in front of her at a glance.

One of them was wearing a white brocade robe with a lavender belt with animal patterns tied around his waist. His jet-black hair naturally fell over his shoulders. He had thick eyebrows that were slightly curved at the ends, and a pair of eyes that were as bright as the sun, sparkling with spirit.

The other person was wearing a light blue robe with a ferocious yellow tiger embroidered on it. His hair was neatly placed behind his back. He looked haggard, his eyes were dull, and he looked sick. He seemed very feminine as he drank the tea on the table.

The third person is Miss Hanlan.

Yun Changan took a step forward and asked, "Miss Hanlan, what is this?"

Miss Hanlan stood up and introduced the two people to Yun Changan and Chu Xiaoxiao. The first one was his fifth brother, named Chu Handong, and the sick person next to him was his second brother, named Chu Liming.

Before Han Lan finished her introduction, Chu Xiaoxiao interrupted her. "So, you are the princess of the dynasty?"

Seeing that Han Lan didn't say anything and just stood aside and looked at Chu Xiaoxiao, he took it as his agreement.

"Changan, let's go."

Seeing Han Lan's tacit agreement, Chu Xiaoxiao reminded Yun Chang'an to leave this troubled place. The master had also told them not to interfere in the affairs of the mortal world, and rescuing Han Lan was against the sect's rules. If they continued to get entangled with these people from the dynasty, they would probably be deeply trapped and would no longer be able to stay out of it.

Seeing Chu Xiaoxiao pulling Yun Changan and about to leave, Han Lan was about to stop them, but his fifth brother spoke up.

"You two, you are really giving us no face. I have been waiting for you for a long time, but you are leaving before you even sit down to have a cup of tea. You have such a bad temper."

Yun Changan saw Chu Handong's bad tone, so he retorted, "You are a prince of the Chu Dynasty. It is unmanly of you to argue with us siblings."

Without being polite, she faced Chu Handong directly, and without waiting for him to speak, she said directly, "We two siblings really don't want to have anything to do with you. We appreciate Miss Hanlan's kindness. As for the rest, we don't want it either."

After saying that, Yun Changan and Chu Xiaoxiao pushed open the door and walked out, leaving the restaurant.

In the room upstairs of the restaurant, a group of three people looked at each other.

"It seems that these two don't want to appreciate our kindness, so I'll just forget it." Chu Liming, who had been silent all this time, said.

"No one has ever slapped me in the face in front of me without giving me any face." A trace of gloom flashed in Chu Handong's eyes.

So he immediately called the guards outside the door in and ordered them to check the background of these two people.

Seeing this scene, Han Lan had no choice but to give up. It seemed that they really were not people who loved money. It was me who over-speculated. They had already explained this to me from the beginning.

I didn't expect that I would mess it up. If I encounter it again in the future, I will apologize.

Yun Changan and Chu Xiaoxiao left the restaurant and sat down in a tea shop.

"Thank you just now."

After Chu Xiaoxiao ordered a pot of tea and pastries, she spoke to Yun Changan, but he didn't understand. He only knew that when Chu Xiaoxiao saw the two men, her expression became serious. Yun Changan guessed that Senior Sister Chu must know those two men.

After listening to Han Lan's introduction, I finally understood that they were the princes of the Chu Dynasty, and Senior Sister Chu's surname was Chu, so even a fool would be able to guess the general idea.

"You must have guessed it."

Yun Chang'an nodded. Although he knew that Senior Sister Chu was related to the Chu Zhao Dynasty, he still didn't know what the relationship was. He only knew that the surname Chu was Wang's, and he thought it was related to the Chu Dynasty.

So, after Chu Xiaoxiao hesitated for a long time, she looked into Yun Chang'an's clear eyes and told him her life story and what she had experienced.

"This is really abominable, Your Majesty!"

Yun Chang'an shouted loudly with a look of hatred on his face. Listening to what happened to Senior Sister Chu, he felt like a fire was burning in his heart. This was exactly the same as what happened to him in his childhood. He was always bullied and his grandfather was killed by other people's punches.

And now, Senior Sister Chu’s experience is almost the same as mine. He can’t help but feel angry and upset for her.
