Li Xueyue didn't realize that she had fallen asleep again. When she woke up for the second time, the bed was empty.

She sat up tiredly, dazed, not knowing how long she had slept. She subconsciously touched her side and found it was warm, indicating that Yu Zhen had just left.

Li Xueyue yawned, stretched out on the bed, and found that there was no one else in the bedroom except herself. This was not surprising because Yu Zhen always asked everyone to wait outside the bedroom.

"Well, what time is it?" Li Xueyue asked as she walked out the door lazily.

Her usual maids were standing against the wall. Everyone perked up at the sight of her. They had been standing there for a while, with nothing to do.

"Princess, it is already late in the morning, but it is not yet afternoon," a familiar voice said.

Li Xueyue froze and her eyes fell on Xu Jiaqi. What on earth was she doing here?

"Who sent you?" Li Xueyue asked. She tried to keep her voice down. There was no need to be so excited when you came so early.

"Princess, the prince personally sent me to serve you. Have you forgotten?"

"So where have you been these days?"

"Training is to better serve you, Princess."

Li Xueyue narrowed her eyes. She found that Xu Jiaqi was indeed much more obedient. However, she still needed someone to teach her how to speak. Until now, Li Xueyue could still hear a hint of attitude in Xu Jiaqi's tone.

"Princess, let me run the bath water for you first." Xu Jiaqi raised her eyes and said softly.

Li Xueyue did not answer, but waved her hand to chase Xu Jiaqi away like a pet. She saw anger flashing in Xu Jiaqi's eyes, and it was not easy to control the anger.

Xu Jiaqi lowered her head and said, "Your Highness, I will be back soon. Please wait a moment." After that, she quickly walked out of the room.

Li Xueyue pursed her lips. She hoped that Xu Jiaqi would never come back.

"Prepare breakfast." Li Xueyue instructed the other maids. She had to eat first, and sending Xu Jiaqi out was just an excuse.

When it comes to eating, Li Xueyue prefers others to bring food to her.

A maid came up with a porcelain bowl filled with water, tea and other refreshing things for Li Xueyue. Li Xueyue completed the procedure smoothly and breakfast was served soon.

Li Xueyue sat down and the servant placed a large plate of dishes on the dining table.

"Has the Crown Princess eaten?" Li Xueyue asked the maid beside her.

"Yes, Princess. His Highness dined while you were still sleeping."

Li Xueyue nodded. It seemed that he didn't ask her to get up and have lunch together in the morning. He must be very busy.

When a bowl of tea was placed in front of her and the lid was opened, Li Xueyue looked at it with some confusion, as she thought the herbal tonic was no longer being brewed.

"This is…?"

"Princess, this soup was made specially for you by the Queen. All the ingredients used are of the finest quality and are hard to come by."

Li Xueyue understood what the maid meant at a glance. It should be a nourishing soup used to enhance immunity. It was very similar to the tonic tea from the past few days, but this time it was not drunk but eaten.

She suppressed a sigh.

Although this gesture is very kind, it makes people feel very pressured. It seems that the Queen wants to see her grandchildren as soon as possible.

Li Xueyue wondered if there were other motives. Was the Queen really on her side? Perhaps having a child with her husband would guarantee victory?

She couldn't pinpoint a specific reason.

"Then I'll take this as a thank you to the Queen." Li Xueyue said. She decided to drink the soup first. After all, she didn't know how many of her maids were the Queen's people.

Li Xueyue brought the spoon to her mouth and paused. Is this really the Queen's dish? Could it be that she had poisoned the dish?

Li Xueyue's heart was filled with fear. She looked at the drink and suddenly lost her appetite, but there were too many servants in the room.

"I'm sorry, everyone," said Li Xueyue.

There was an air of doubt in the room. Was there something wrong? The Crown Princess rarely excused them during meals.

"Thank you for your hard work, my servants. You can go out and have a rest first, stretch your legs and sit for a while. It must be very tiring to wait for me for so long before getting up." Li Xueyue explained gently, a gentle smile on her face and a serene understanding in her eyes.

Now that she had said so many good things, no one could deny her. One by one, everyone left the room.

After they all left and she was sure that there was no one else in the room, Li Xueyue stood up and walked to the dressing table. As always, everything on the dressing table was neatly arranged, clean and tidy.

Li Xueyue picked up a silver hairpin, returned to the table, and dipped the hairpin into the soup.

"If I remember correctly, Jiangsu has always been like this..." Li Xueyue pulled out her hairpin and looked at the color. The silver was still shining, without a trace of black.

There was no poison in the soup.

Li Xueyue was still a little uncertain, as arsenic was detected in the silver, but she shouldn't doubt the queen like this anymore.

"I should tell Yuzhen about the soup," she finally decided.

Li Xueyue returned to the dressing table and took out her handkerchief. "I'm too paranoid," she scolded herself.

But Li Xueyue still began to take out the visible ingredients in the soup one by one, put them on the handkerchief, and deliberately poured a little soup on it so that the fragrance would remain there.

Then she picked up the soup bowl and hairpin, walked to a plant and stopped.

"The bedroom is better." This is the place no servant dared to intrude.

Li Xueyue walked into the bedroom and found a small plant in the corner of the room. She poured the soup on the soil and watched it slowly sink.

"Next..." She said nothing more, but returned to the dining table and tied the two ends of the handkerchief together.

Li Xueyue casually picked up a handkerchief and wrapped another one, then she walked to a bookshelf in the bedroom.

“That should be fine,” Li said, stepping back to see if the item looked out of place. It did. She adjusted the bag’s position, deciding to hide it behind an ornament.

"Golden tiger paperweight... It should be a gift." Li Xueyue said doubtfully. She picked up the paperweight, looked at it carefully, and then put the tiger back in its place.

Then, Li Xueyue returned to the table. By this time, the food was cold. But she didn't mind. As long as she was safe.

“It’s partly my fault, too,” she added.

Li Xueyue realized that she had a habit of talking to herself, sighed, and picked up the chopsticks.

The reason why she has such a bad habit is that she doesn't have many friends.

"If only I could be better at socializing..." She trailed off.

Li Xueyue has been locked up in the Bai Mansion for most of her life. She seldom has the opportunity to interact with people. It is difficult for her to even have a conversation, let alone make friends.

Nowadays, Li Xueyue has become accustomed to a lonely life. However, it is not a bad thing to have one or two friends.
