Li Xueyue was shocked by Councillor Wu's support. She suspected that Councillor Wu must have a relationship with the prime minister's son Wu Xiang. Was this Yu Zhen's doing?

Thinking of this, she frowned. Her eyes instantly turned to her husband, only to find that he was also surprised.

His brows raised slightly, but he seemed satisfied with this turn of events. A look of suspicion appeared in his eyes. After a second, he narrowed his eyes, questioning the reason for Councillor Wu's compliance.

"Things have taken a turn..." the Queen whispered in disbelief. This was the first time she spoke since coming to this room.

"Not exactly, Your Majesty," the representative retorted, placing a hand over his chest, a worried look on his face.

"Commoners contribute scarce resources and fulfill their obligations to the state when asked to do so. Apart from this, they also bear a heavy tax burden. It would be a wise decision to reduce their burden by lowering their taxes," he explained.

The Queen's attention shifted back to the Crown Princess. Was this what the Crown Princess did? Perhaps time had changed these people. She recalled the first time she walked into this room.

The Empress could hardly speak, and when she did, people just scoffed and rolled their eyes. No one agreed with her suggestion, not even the Emperor himself. Speaking of her husband, he was soon dying.

"Does the Crown Princess have any influence on you?" The Queen asked with a curled lip. She smiled slyly, with a hint of doubt in her eyes.

"Wu Shiming, it's strange that you support one person."

Representative Wu laughed out loud after hearing her words, his laughter full of amusement, "I can tell at a glance that this is a good idea."

He shrugged. "Besides, I only enjoy arguing with old Master Han. It's really fun to see him get angry, don't you think so, Your Majesty?"

Everyone's eyes were focused on Han Gong. When Han Gong heard his name, he immediately straightened up.

"What did you just say, you rascal?" he asked, finally realizing what he had said.

Li Xueyue took the opportunity to glance around the rest of the room. She noticed that Lu Tianbi was sitting on the other side of Yuzhen. The queen sat at the head of the table, but she didn’t seem to fit in. Perhaps, that seat was prepared for the emperor…

There were other people in the room that she didn't recognize. She turned her gaze to the burly man sitting next to her.

He was dressed in full armor, the silver of which contrasted sharply with his thick black beard, and he had a scar running down the side of his cheek.

When he noticed her curious look, the man glared at her. It was a daunting look that struck fear into the heart of a soldier. But she was not a soldier. She was not wearing boots.

"Can I help you, little girl?" the man said gruffly. His voice was hoarse and strained, like the growl of a bear.

“You must be a military representative,” she pointed out.

"Really? What's exposed? My clothes?" He rolled his eyes sarcastically. He muttered something under his breath and then snorted.

The man looked at her with a sneer, obviously not liking her presence very much. This was the first time the Crown Princess participated in a round table discussion, and she had already caused trouble.

"You'd better not worry about it—"

"I think so too, Commander Han."

Commander Han's attention immediately shifted to the crown prince, who was only half his age but twice as strong. Although Commander Han was experienced and had made many achievements on the battlefield, he was no match for the young crown prince.

"You should discipline your wife. She stares at me too much." Commander Han said without hesitation. He was the trainer of this outstanding soldier.

"Don't be jealous just because you lost a loved one." Yu Zhen said calmly.

Only then did Li Xueyue realize that Commander Han's left eye was a little dull. Now that he had changed his position, she could see clearly that, as expected, he was blind in one eye.

“Just like my horse,” she purred.

"What?" Commander Han shouted, obviously offended by her words. Was this little girl calling him a beast? !

"My horse, Black Moon," Li Xueyue said. "It is blind, but twice as fast as horses of the same breed."

Commander Han wasn't sure if this was a compliment. She compared him to a horse, and a fine one at that. Was she saying that despite his disability, he must be strong?

Commander Han murmured in his heart, what a strange little girl, she is about the same age as his granddaughter, and they both talk too much.

"Your words are very strange," were the last words he said before turning back to the current discussion.

Li Xueyue watched as Master Han continued to go back and forth with Wu Shiming.

"You got this position by relying on connections," Master Han scolded.

"Ha! You old guy, look at yourself." Wu Shiming said with a sneer.

"Then you agree." Duke Han concluded.

"You too," Wu Shiming pointed out.

Li Xueyue didn't expect the roundtable discussion to go like this. She thought it would be more formal. She thought everyone would talk politely and occasionally make sarcastic remarks. But like this? It was like watching children fighting over toys.

"Are they always like this?" she whispered to Yu Zhen. She subconsciously leaned towards him.

Yu Zhen smiled at this little gesture, but a second later, the smile disappeared. He didn't want to show his thoughts and feelings here. Nevertheless, he still grabbed her hand under the table.

"Yes, King Han is old enough to be his father, but Wu Shiming is always arguing with King Han."

"Oh, why are they arguing like this?" Li Xueyue asked.

Yu Zhen turned to look at her, but unfortunately she was too focused on the conversation to notice him, so he frowned.

"Hmm?" Li Xueyue said when she saw he didn't respond.

However, she was once again met with silence.

Li Xueyue turned her head and found that he was glaring at her. Was he...sulking? She didn't know.

"What's wrong?" she whispered. "Did I behave badly? I thought I behaved well—"

"You should be looking at me. Not at anyone else."

Li Xueyue frowned, a little confused. She didn't understand what he meant.

"You're so possessive," she said.

"I do not care."

Before Li Xueyue could say anything, she heard a "bang". The sudden noise scared her, but it was just the sound of a hand slapping the table.

"Forget it, stop talking! Just because I offended your uncle once, you are so picky." Han Gong said in a hissing voice, "Besides, the prime minister is your uncle, not your father."

Wu Shiming glared at the Duke, "You have so little sense of family honor that you don't even care about people with the same surname as you?"

"You kid——"

"Be quiet." Yu Zhen said sternly.

Both sides immediately shut up. They were not surprised that he was still glaring as usual. The crown prince always had a frown on his face. He never seemed happy.

"Princess," Yu Zhen said unexpectedly. "You proposed further funding for the orphanage and the establishment of a school for the children."

She nodded.

"Please raise your hands if you agree with this suggestion."

Li Xueyue turned around, hoping that her efforts would be rewarded. Unfortunately, Duke Han's arguments were more powerful. There were far more people supporting her than against her.

"The Round Table has spoken. Your proposal is rejected."

Li Xueyue nodded slowly again. Strangely, she was not disappointed. Instead, she became even more enthusiastic. She would not make the same mistake again next time.

"You also put forward another suggestion, which was also supported by Councillor Wu," said Yu Zhen.

"Please raise your hands if you support reducing taxes on civilians."

After hesitating for a moment, someone finally raised his hand. This surprised Lu Tianbi and the queen, and the queen also supported the decision. This was the first time the Crown Princess came here, and her suggestion was successfully approved.

Nothing like this has ever happened before.

But despite this, Li Xueyue did not achieve complete victory. Whether she liked it or not, she got help from others.

"The roundtable has spoken. The recommendation has been approved and will come into effect soon."

Li Xueyue heard the pride in Yu Zhen's voice. He was proud of her, but she was a super genius, and having only one of her three suggestions adopted was not the result she wanted.
