A few seconds later, the quarrel began again. They were not interested in anything else but the current argument.

"Are you crazy?!" a man in green pointed his finger at a man in red and shouted.

"That's a terrible idea!" others echoed.

"Mr. Han, are you crazy?"

"At least I got full marks in the imperial examination, you idiot! Don't just call me crazy, you call me stupid!" Han Gong said coldly, ignoring the grumpy men in front of him.

"Bah! We all saw the answer you wrote on your wrist!" said the man in green. "You fucking liar!"

"This is a terrible law, you must be crazy!" he added.

"How dare you! You didn't even get full marks, and you dare to question my decision!" Mr. Han was furious.

The arguments and the rants of discontent continued.

Li Xueyue could only be dumbfounded.

There were people of all shapes, sizes, and genders sitting at a huge round table.

Her eyes fell on a group of adults bickering like children. They were not what she expected.

Despite the gathering of many prominent people, there was not a single guard in the room. Or, maybe there were soldiers, but they were just hiding in the dark. The room had no windows. Every measure was taken to ensure secrecy.

Suddenly, a scroll was thrown to the ground by the same man in green. He put his hands on the table, his eyes full of anger.

"I told King Han that this idea won't work!"

"Just like your peanut-sized head!" Duke Han sneered, while resisting the urge to roll his eyes.

Li Xueyue's attention fell on Yuzhen and the Queen again. He sat there, not paying any attention to the men's mutual insults, and seemed to be uninterested in what they said.

The queen's red lips were pressed into a thin line. Her brows were knitted together, revealing the only wrinkle on her face. She was dissatisfied with this statement, but not surprised.

"Okay, this is embarrassing." Li Xueyue finally said.

Hearing her words, everyone's eyes turned to her. They were shocked that a woman, let alone a princess, dared to speak so loudly here.

"What did you just say?" Han Gong asked in a threatening voice.

"Your Highness, watch your tongue," Li Xueyue warned as she walked into the room. Despite the men's angry glares, she refused to back down.

Li Xueyue would accept nothing but respect. Getting them to acknowledge her title was the first step.

Despite how progressive Korea is, people here have traditional ideas. In their eyes, women shouldn't talk unless they are talking to people - especially princesses. They should be beautiful decorations lining the walls of the palace, nothing more.

It was for this reason that many people were stunned by Li Xueyue's words. They didn't think that a foreigner in this country would be so high and mighty as a Duke of Han Jianguo.

"Princess," a voice sounded, full of joy. He smiled, his eyes curved. It was the man in green, and his behavior changed completely when he saw the princess.

"You look very beautiful tonight, Princess," he praised.

Li Xueyue turned her cold eyes towards him, as if she wanted to commit suicide, which was very similar to Wu Xiang's playful behavior that got him into trouble many times.

His words caused everyone to laugh. Judging from the Queen's expression, this was a common situation. In fact, she had received a similar treatment when she first walked in here, when she was still young and naive.

Representative Wu's words made Yu Zhen look gloomy. This man was very young, unmarried, and a qualified bachelor.

Yu Zhen's mood soured. He opened his mouth, ready to tell his men to shut up, but his wife was quicker than that.

“I wish I could say the same thing to you,” Li Xueyue mused.

Once again, however, she was met with stunned silence. They gaped at her as if she were an animal of an unknown species. One would have expected her to recoil in embarrassment, but she did not.

Some looked away as she gave a harmless smile and winked, but she was indifferent to all of them.

“Well, I was mad,” the man joked. “But I admit your sarcasm was brilliant.”

He placed a hand over his chest, revealing his bare fingers. "Nice to meet you, I'm Councillor Wu, in charge of agriculture."

Li Xueyue did not comment on his green robe. She wondered if it was just a coincidence.

She just nodded.

Li Xueyue walked into the room without saying a word. She walked to the table, very aware of everyone's eyes. They were watching. Waiting. Expecting. What should she do now?

The princess's face was full of surprise. Some people thought it was pleasant, while others thought it was rude.

But then again, she didn't seem to care.

Li Xueyue hoped that her head would stop shaking, but it started shaking anyway. When she picked up several scrolls scattered on the table, her fingers trembled nervously. She tried not to be frightened, but she felt uneasy.

Still, she forced herself to focus on the task at hand.

"Hmm..." Li Xueyue understood the main point of their argument. It was a trivial matter.

"There's a law that says peasants can't wear brightly colored clothing to hide their rank," she read aloud, her lips curving downward.

She looked up from her scroll. Everyone was looking at her. They wanted to hear her judgment.

“That’s an interesting idea,” she commented.

After hearing this, Mr. Han was immediately impressed and responded with a smile, and his morale also improved a little.

“But,” she added, “it’s an unfair law.”

"It's just because you are too compassionate. Most women are like this." King Han sneered.

"Are you proud of being heartless?" Li Xueyue shook her head and pondered.

"you-"

"Riots, chaos, uprisings. All of these things will happen if we control civilians' clothing choices," she explained. "What happens next if we control their clothing? Restrict the types of food they eat? Control the materials they use to build their homes? Forbid their children from having certain names?"

"Obviously, that's not what I meant," Han Gong retorted. "You can't understand things from my perspective. You're a terrible leader. If you become queen, I'm beginning to doubt Han Jian's future."

The King of Han gestured to the people around him. "Let the decision-making power of this country be handed over to men, Princess." When the King of Han said this title, it seemed like he was joking.

"Why aren't you paying attention..." He trailed off, pretending to think about his words.

Lu Tianbi looked apologetic, but not surprised.

"Then would you rather a woman die of heat stroke?" Li Xueyue finally spoke. She put the scroll back on the table.

Li Xueyue remembered what Yu Zhen had said to her. After the "discussion", each member here would vote to agree or disagree. In theory, this was a fairly simple process.

“I would rather women have some dignity and pride.”

"We maintain our dignity at the cost of our health. If we let a country dictate what we wear, we will lose our self-respect," Li Xueyue said expressionlessly.

She heard a high-pitched laugh. Her attention snapped to Representative Wu, who smiled as he met her gaze.

"I must admit, Princess, that's a very witty answer you gave," he praised.

A clear sound came from his throat. His eyes quickly fell on the prince, whose eyes were full of murderous intent.

Representative Wu smiled awkwardly and wiped the smile off his face. He didn't think the rumor was true. In fact, the prince was very possessive of his wife. It was an interesting thought considering his lack of interest in everything else in life. No one believed he was capable of taking care of something.

"Mr. Han." Yu Zhen finally spoke. His voice was low and deep. It sounded calm, but it was not.

“You’ve made your point,” he said, “and the roundtable has made theirs.”

Yu Zhen's eyes met Li Xueyue's for a second, then he looked away.

"After considering the views of both parties, now is the time to make a decision," he said.

Representative Wu also wanted to add that the only rational voice was that of the Crown Princess, and before her arrival, the opposing side did not have any strong arguments except for some people who expressed different opinions.

But he kept silent. To interrupt the prince was to ask for the death penalty.

"Everyone who supports please raise your hands," said Yu Zhen.

Only two hands went up, the King of Han's and another's. But the attention wasn't on them. It was the Crown Princess who had the courage to voice her opinion. It was a bold decision that won her enough supporters, but also enemies.

"The Round Table sent someone to speak." Yu Zhen turned to look at Mr. Han: "I reject your suggestion."

Duke Han glared at the table, then nodded stiffly.

Yu Zhen decided to deal with the tussling ancient turtle later. His attention shifted directly to Li Xueyue. A smile appeared on his lips. The scene created a feeling of uncertainty in the room.

The Crown Prince never smiles. If he smiles, it’s for all the wrong reasons. Suddenly, everyone sympathizes with the Princess. It seems like he doesn’t dote on her as much as everyone thinks. Which is a good thing, because showing too much prejudice is not a good thing.

"Now, do you have any other questions about the Law of the Cold Sword?" he asked.

No one said anything. Especially since Lord Han was defeated by a woman, let alone a princess who was just a decoration.

To be honest, this silence is not surprising. Few people actively discuss legal issues. The main discussion is usually about the improvement of the Han River.

Everyone was ready to move on until the Crown Princess spoke.

"I am willing."
