Sure enough, Yu Zhen had already taught her Han Jian’s basic swordsmanship. It was much more difficult than she expected. Not surprisingly, Han Jian’s style was completely different from Wu Yi’s. Wu Yi focused on brute force and speed, while Han Jian focused on precision and skill.

By the time the training was over, Li Xueyue was sweating profusely. She felt embarrassed about her appearance and kept her distance from Yu Zhen, but Yu Zhen didn't understand her. Every time he tried to get close to her, she would deliberately distance herself from him.

Li Xueyue was worried that she smelled bad. Her hair was frayed and stuck to her forehead, and her face was flushed with fatigue.

"Keep at least six feet away!" she said angrily when he tried to hold her hand.

Li Xueyue wiped the sweat that ran down her head to her chin. She was annoyed because he was just as clean and dry as when he came in the morning, as if he hadn't practiced with her all day.

Yu Zhen paused, confused by her warning. The sun was setting behind her, and the ruby hue of the sky began to reflect off her robed body. The light perfectly accentuated her figure, which shimmered in the sun.

Yu Zhen took a deep breath through his nose, hoping to regain his composure. Despite this, his eyes were fixed on her like a moth to a flame.

"Why do we have to keep our distance?" he asked reluctantly, pointing at the large space between them.

"I'm all sweaty and look like a mess," Li Xueyue pointed out with a frown.

"so?"

"So, so, I don't feel very well now," Li Xueyue explained. He pouted like a spoiled child who heard the word "no" for the first time in his life.

"and?"

"Does the stench bother you?" she said, even though it sounded like a question.

Li Xueyue sheathed her sword. She walked over to the equipment rack and put the weapon back in its place. Her eyes swept over the dazzling array of weapons here. Li Wenmin liked to collect rare and precious swords whenever he had the chance. He usually put the least valuable items on this rack, while the most expensive and rare items were placed in his bedroom.

The worst place to ambush Li Wenmin was in his room. She vaguely remembered one time when she tried to sneak up on him and he thought she was an intruder. Needless to say, it didn't end well.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't hear the hurried footsteps approaching her. She was snapped out of her thoughts when a pair of strong arms attacked from behind. A scream escaped her lips as she was lifted onto a muscular chest.

"Yu Zhen!" she moaned. Is this man disobedient?

Yu Zhen hugged her tighter and buried his face in the crook of her neck.

"I don't smell good!" She hissed, struggling in his arms, but he didn't care.

"I think you smell nice," he complained, confused by her embarrassment. Compared to his soldiers, she smelled nice. Her usual scent, soft and sweet, was musky today, not that he was complaining.

She sighed, but could do nothing but throw herself into his arms. She lay motionless in his arms.

"You're like a big baby," she cooed, reaching up to stroke his hair. She felt his lips lift as he smiled against her skin.

"Just for you," he whispered softly, pressing a lingering kiss to her bare neck.

Eventually, her aching arms couldn't stand being lifted up to play with his hair anymore. She lowered her hands, hoping to take a break, but he quickly protested.

"More," he demanded like a child. Her laughter warmed his heart and made his smile grow wider.

"Come on, I think you're just a puppy." Still, she reached out and stroked his head tenderly, enjoying the sweetness of his dark hair.

Li Xueyue wondered if it was tiring to always bend over for her. He was obviously taller than her, and well-proportioned, especially with his long legs. Was he in pain in this position? She tilted her head to study his flawless features, but his face was still buried in her shoulder.

Sensing the change in her face, he finally looked up at her. When their eyes met and she smiled, he felt a strange and confusing feeling tugging at his heart. What was that feeling? He always felt strange around her, but couldn't put his finger on the emotion. The only thing he knew was that he wanted her to stay in his life forever.

Even after multiple encounters, Li Xueyue couldn't get over how handsome this man was. Things were starting to get to the point where she thought it was unfair. He didn't even have to do anything for her to find him irresistible. When he smiled a sly smile, she always felt her stomach churn for him.

"What are you thinking about?" Yu Zhen asked curiously.

"What a stupid move." Li Xueyue looked thoughtful, stretching her neck to look at him directly.

Yu Zhen briefly released her and asked her to turn around. He didn't want her to get hurt because of her bad neck posture.

Her eyes widened as he pulled her forward and let her step on his feet so she didn't have to look up at him. He smiled down at her for no particular reason.

"You smile so happily." Li Xueyue reached out and poked his dimple and said.

Yu Zhen was startled by her words. Was he smiling? He didn’t even realize it. When was the last time he smiled in Han Jian? He couldn’t remember.

he asked incredulously, grabbing one of her hands that was touching his face.

He kissed her palm lovingly and looked at her happily. She didn't have to do anything, and he was willing to sacrifice the whole world for her. What did all this devotion mean? He couldn't understand it.

"Yeah, you know. Like now, and before. Don't you know?" Li Xueyue hoped that he would not do such crazy things to her heart. As soon as their eyes met, her heart had already reacted to him.

Yuzhen hummed, playing with one hand until the palms were flat together. He interlaced his fingers. He stared at their intertwined fingers and couldn't help but squeeze them. It was strange how such a small gesture could bring me such comfort.

Li Xueyue wondered if he did it on purpose. He had to be like this. Otherwise, how could there be such a handsome man?

When he caught her staring, he simply blinked. She scoffed and rolled her eyes. Still, no matter how hard she bit her lower lip, she couldn't resist the smile that broke out.

"what's so funny?"

"Nothing," she smiled, resting her face against his chest. She sighed contentedly, enjoying his warmth, hoping and praying that he would always be hers.
