Princess Lily Arrives

Chapter 335: Who is directing the play?

Guan Lili stood in the center of the dim stage of the old theater, staring at the masked "observer" not far away. The atmosphere around was quiet and strange, as if even the air had frozen. This theater was like an unfinished performance, and each of them was an actor in this play. The only difference was that no one could know the ending of this play in advance.

"Do you think I will follow your script?" Lily raised her lips slightly, with a firm look in her eyes, "Don't forget, the script can be rewritten impromptu."

The observer smiled faintly, as if he didn't care about Lily's confidence at all: "Lily, you are very smart, but in this game, you are just a passive chess piece. And I have been directing this play from beginning to end."

The lights on the stage suddenly flickered, and Lily was keenly aware that there seemed to be some unknown threat hidden around her. She secretly reminded herself that this observer was good at using psychological tactics from the beginning, and his every word and every action might be to lead her into his trap.

Just as the atmosphere was becoming increasingly tense, He Shaoyan suddenly appeared, holding a large cup of milk tea in his hand, looking particularly relaxed: "I say, isn't our scene a bit too heavy? How about some lighter moments, like 'sudden change in the script, reversal of the protagonist' or something like that?"

Lily glanced at him and deliberately agreed with him: "Your suggestion is quite creative. Then let's have a 'reversal drama that the audience loves to see'."

The observer chuckled and said, "I want to see what tricks you can come up with."

As soon as the voice fell, the lights in the entire theater suddenly went out, and the surroundings fell into darkness. Then, a burst of hurried footsteps and whispers came from the stage. Lily quickly adjusted her state, and her ears keenly captured every subtle sound.

Suddenly, the chandelier above flashed, and a beam of strong light shone directly on the center of the stage. Under the light, a huge black and white chessboard appeared. Strange props and symbols were placed on each square of the board, as if implying some kind of rules.

"Is this the 'end game' you designed?" Lily asked coldly, without moving her eyes away from the chessboard.

The observer's voice came from the corner of the theater, sounding a little distant: "Yes, this is the last level I prepared for you - the chess game. Every move here is related to your life and death. Only by finding the true rules can you win the final victory."

He Shaoyan whistled: "Your psychological warfare again? Have you watched too many TV dramas? You're actually playing a life-and-death chess game? What era is this? Can't we try something more down-to-earth, like shooting hoops or playing a dance machine?"

"You can choose not to play, but you will bear the consequences." The observer's voice was slightly threatening.

Lily knew that observers were the best at creating fear and uncertainty, but she would not be easily fooled. She carefully observed every detail on the chessboard and found that the arrangement of several props and symbols seemed a little unreasonable. These details might be the key to cracking the chess game.

"We have to find a way to break the rules he set." Lily whispered to He Shaoyan and the Shadow Special Envoy, "On the surface, this game of chess is a game of chess, but the real victory or defeat is not on the chessboard, but in whether we can find his hidden flaws."

The Shadow Commissioner nodded. "He has been trying to guide us into his logic from the beginning, but if we jump out of his thinking framework, we may be able to find another solution."

After that, Lily walked boldly towards the chessboard and stood on a seemingly inconspicuous black square. The chessboard did not react at all, and the observer's voice was full of sarcasm: "Are you so confident that this move is correct?"

"I only know that I can never win by following the rules you set, so I decided to break your rules." Lily looked calm, then she turned around suddenly, took out a small device in her hand, and quickly pressed the button. The walls around the theater opened with a bang, revealing a hidden electronic control console.

"Do you think we can't see through your game?" Lily smiled. "Your game is just a trick. We have already found the real control point."

"What?" The observer's voice sounded a little uneasy for the first time. "Impossible!"

Just before he finished speaking, Xiao Zhao ran out from the backstage with a laptop in his hand: "Lily, I successfully hacked into his main control system, and now all his virtual defenses have been cracked!"

The observer finally panicked, and his virtual image appeared in every corner of the theater, as if trying to disrupt the team's judgment in this way. But Lily had already won the game, and she did not give the opponent any chance to turn the tables. She decisively entered a series of commands, completely paralyzing the observer's system.

"The game is over." Lily's eyes were sharp and her voice was filled with unshakable determination.

The lights came back on, and everything in the theater returned to normal, except that the chessboard on the stage gradually disappeared, as if it had never existed. The observer's virtual image also gradually blurred, leaving only a meaningful sentence: "Lily, you won this game, but the real ending is still in the future."

Although she won, Lily was not completely relaxed. She knew that this observer was just a part of the whole situation, and there might be a bigger force behind him secretly observing and planning.

"It seems we still have to remain vigilant." The shadow commissioner whispered.

"Yes, the real challenge may still be ahead." Lily nodded, but her eyes revealed a fearless confidence, "However, no matter how many problems there are, I will solve them one by one. I will not stop until the game is over."

As the observer's system collapsed, the city returned to peace, but Lily knew that this peace was only temporary. She looked into the distance, her heart filled with expectations for the future and a desire to fight.
