Princess Lily Arrives
Chapter 323 Who is controlling the "script"?
Guan Lili walked out of the "Player Conference" venue. The night breeze brought a hint of coolness, but her thoughts were burning like flames. The confrontation in the venue just now made her realize that this game was far from as simple as it seemed. Every "player" had his own calculations, and she seemed to be pushed to the center of the vortex.
"What on earth is this? It feels like a bottomless pit." Lily secretly complained in her heart, but she couldn't help but look forward to the next challenge. She is no longer the rookie in the workplace who just wants to live an ordinary life. Now she is full of desire to explore the unknown.
"Lily, what are you going to do next?" He Shaoyan appeared from nowhere, with his signature smile, as mysterious as ever.
"Have you installed surveillance cameras everywhere? How come you always appear next to me suddenly?" Lily glanced at him helplessly.
He Shaoyan spread his hands and shrugged: "This is my job. I am always ready to help you solve your problems."
"Come on, you're always ready to watch the show." Lily pouted, but in her heart she was quickly analyzing his motives. Although He Shaoyan seemed to be helping her, his true intentions were still unclear.
As they were joking, their cell phones suddenly rang and an encrypted text message popped up. The content was brief: "12 o'clock midnight, Old Theater. Someone is waiting for you."
Lily was shocked. The old theater was an abandoned building in the city and had been abandoned for many years. She had never told anyone about her curiosity about this place. Why would someone know about it and invite her at this time?
"It looks like there's a new plot." He Shaoyan came over to take a look at the text message, and smiled even more strangely, "Are you going or not? It feels like the opening of a horror movie."
"Don't you think this information is strange?" Lily frowned. "I don't want to be drawn into any unreliable trap."
"Strangeness is exciting." He Shaoyan said nonchalantly, "Besides, the script is already written, how can you not go and take a look?"
Lily looked at his gloating expression, and a desire to fight arose in her heart. She took a deep breath and made a decision: "Let's go and see, we have to find out who is behind this."
At midnight, Lily and He Shaoyan arrived at the old theater on time. The shabby door creaked, as if welcoming them. It was dark inside, with only a few dim lights flickering on the stage in the distance, exuding a gloomy atmosphere.
"This place is creepy, it's straight out of a horror movie." Lily couldn't help but complain, but she stepped in without hesitation.
The two walked onto the stage, and the lights suddenly came on, shining in front of them. A man in a black coat stood in the center of the stage with his back to them, and the atmosphere instantly became weird.
"Guan Lili, you're finally here." The man turned around slowly, revealing a pale face with an unpredictable calmness in his eyes.
"Who are you?" Lily remained alert, quickly searching for this person's background information in her mind.
"I'm the 'screenwriter'." The man said calmly, "Or you can also call me the 'script manipulator'. All your actions are in my script."
"Script?" Lily was stunned for a moment, then realized that this person seemed to be no ordinary person. "What do you mean? Did you arrange everything for me now?"
"That's right." The man smiled slightly, his tone revealing a certain kind of invincible confidence. "Every challenge you experience, every choice you make, is a plot I carefully designed. And you are just the protagonist of this script."
Lily felt uneasy. Although what he said sounded absurd, she couldn't completely deny it. The coincidences and events in the past made her suspect that there was some greater force behind this.
"Then let me ask you, since this is a script, can you predict every decision I make?" Lily asked casually, but a cold light flashed in her eyes.
The man smiled coldly: "Of course, all possibilities are within my calculation range. The choice you made is nothing more than one of the established paths."
Lily's heart tightened, and then she showed a sly smile: "In that case, I will make a decision that you will never expect."
As soon as she finished speaking, she suddenly turned around and pulled the rope beside her. The stage scenery collapsed instantly, revealing the hidden door behind. She rushed to the secret door without hesitation, completely unconventional.
"You..." The man obviously didn't expect her to do this, and the confident expression on his face froze instantly.
"Even if it's a script, there are always unpredictable improvisations." Lily turned around and shouted at him, then rushed into the secret door, followed closely by He Shaoyan.
Behind the secret door was a winding secret passage, and the lights on the wall flickered, as if guiding them forward. As Lily ran, she thought, "If this is really a script, then every step I take now is changing it. I must break their assumptions."
"This move of yours is really brilliant. It directly disrupts the direction of the script." He Shaoyan laughed as he ran, and he was obviously very satisfied with this impromptu performance.
"Stop talking nonsense and find a way out!" Lily replied unhappily, but she felt a little relieved in her heart - even if this was a set-up, she could still find her way out of the predicament in her own way.
At the end of the secret passage, there was an iron gate. Lily pushed it open without hesitation, and what came into view was a wide rooftop, with the night wind howling and overlooking the bright lights of the entire city.
"Finally it's out." Lily breathed a sigh of relief, but she knew that this was not the end, but another beginning.
At this time, the iron door was pushed open again, and the man who called himself "screenwriter" came out with a calm smile on his face: "Do you think you can break the script like this? No, you just deviated from the main plot temporarily."
"Then I will keep going down the path until you can't predict it anymore." Lily responded without showing any weakness. She had already made up her mind that no matter how meticulous the other party's script was, she would not follow their rules.
"Interesting, very interesting." The man nodded, with a hint of complicated emotions in his eyes. "Perhaps, you are really an exception. But because of this, the game is more interesting."
Lily ignored him and turned to walk to the edge of the rooftop. She looked at the brightly lit city in the distance, and a fighting spirit rose in her heart.
"I can write the script, but the final outcome is still decided by me."
In the night, Guan Lili's figure appears particularly firm under the lights. No matter how complicated the challenges in the future are, she will face and change them in her own way.
The new story has just begun.
