Quick Wear: Passerby A's Daily Life of Eating Watermelons

Chapter 8: A stranger in the spy world of the Republic of China

After returning home, Aunt Fang asked Jiang Yue and then started cooking. Other matters in the store were basically resolved. Jiang Yue accepted Boss Zhang's suggestion. Now the only thing missing was a doctor, preferably a doctor with superb medical skills.

When Aunt Fang was serving Jiang Yue food, she heard Jiang Yue mumbling to herself, "Where can I find a doctor?" Aunt Fang thought Jiang Yue was sick, and asked anxiously, "Miss! Are you feeling unwell?"

Jiang Yue came back to her senses, looked at Aunt Fang's anxious face and quickly explained: "Aunt Fang, don't worry, I'm not sick, I opened a medicine shop, I'm not in need of a doctor, I'm just wondering where to find a doctor."

Aunt Fang was startled, patted her chest and took a deep breath: "I thought the young lady was sick, but I actually know one thing. The father of my neighbor's daughter-in-law came to Shanghai from Peking. Her brother had an accident, so her father came from Peking to Shanghai to find her. In the end, he stayed in Shanghai. These days, he is teaching her son to learn medicine. I heard from the neighbors that his medical skills are superb."

"Miss, you can find someone to see how good his medical skills are, and see if you can recruit him."

After listening to Aunt Fang's words, Jiang Yue felt like he had found a pillow. After dinner, Jiang Yue took two gifts, one for Aunt Fang's family and one for his neighbor's children. They called a rickshaw and set off.

When they arrived at Aunt Fang's house, Jiang Yue gave the gift to her daughter. The child looked very reserved and didn't dare to speak much. Jiang Yue didn't ask any more questions. After staying at home for a while, Aunt Fang took Jiang Yue to the neighbor's house.

When they arrived at the neighbor's house, they saw an old man with white hair and a youthful face lying leisurely on a recliner, with a child playing beside him. Aunt Fang took Jiang Yue over and introduced them to each other. The neighbor's daughter-in-law said, "I can't make the decision. You have to ask my father if he is willing."

Jiang Yue was so embarrassed that she almost stopped at the three-bedroom, one-living-room apartment. How should she start with this? Should she just say, "I'm in need of a doctor, are you willing to come?" or should she first praise the other person's medical skills and start a small talk?

Aunt Fang laughed when she saw this. She was really a little girl. So Aunt Fang went straight to her and said, "Old man, our daughter has opened a medicine shop. The shop has been bought and the medicinal materials business has been finalized. The only thing missing is a doctor. Are you willing to come?"

Jiang Yue looked at Aunt Fang with sparkling eyes. She was like a reborn parent and a relative! Then she looked at the old man. She didn't know if he agreed or not. The old man sat up and said, "I am Sun Yifan. I studied medicine at the age of seven. At the age of 21, I went to various places to study under a master. At the age of 24, I was admitted to the National Beijing Medical College for further studies. After that, I have been practicing medicine for more than 30 years. You can ask me, but I have a few questions for you."

Jiang Yue nodded: "Ask me, I will answer you truthfully."

When Jiang Yue heard about the National Peking Medical College, he knew he had met a big shot. This school is the predecessor of Peking University School of Medicine. Looking at his resume, is there anything else to think about?

"The first question is, why do you want to open a clinic?"

"Because I want to learn Chinese medicine, I have been reading some introductory books on Chinese medicine recently. I have registered for a Chinese medicine school and will be enrolled in two months. I want to have a place to study and practice after I graduate. After all, it is not feasible to talk about it on paper."

"Second question, do you plan to make money from this clinic?"

As soon as this question was asked, everyone turned away. Fortunately, Jiang Yue didn't expect to make any money, so he just wanted to break even, so he told the truth:

"No, my plan is to try to break even and not lose money. I originally planned to sell the herbs directly, but the owner of the shop I sold it to said it would be better to have a doctor."

After that, he asked a few more questions, and Jiang Yue told the truth. When Jiang Yue finished speaking, Mr. Sun suddenly smiled and said, "Then how much do you plan to pay me?"

Jiang Yue knew that the other party had agreed to it, so he quickly said, "I'll give you 20% of the profits, and we'll be partners."

After the discussion, Aunt Fang, the second parent, spoke again: "Then do you think our daughter can learn from you? She is really eager to learn and reads for several hours every day."

After Aunt Fang finished speaking, Jiang Yue started to cry in her heart. Aunt Fang was indeed her second parent. Increase the salary! You must increase the salary! Then Jiang Yue looked at Mr. Sun with stars in her eyes, but Mr. Sun did not agree. Jiang Yue was also disappointed. Maybe seeing Jiang Yue's disappointed expression was a bit pitiful, he thought for a moment and said, "You still have two months to go before school starts. You can study with me for these two months."

After hearing what Mr. Sun said, Jiang Yue felt a kind of joy of regaining what she had lost. Mr. Sun asked Jiang Yue some more questions, such as what book she read, and a few more questions. After Jiang Yue answered, Mr. Sun had no expression on his face. Jiang Yue didn't know whether her answers were right or not, after all, she had only read the book for a few days.

The two agreed that Jiang Yue would come to Mr. Sun's place to study after breakfast every morning. She would study for a whole morning every day. After the pharmacy was renovated, Jiang Yue would go inside the store to study. After that, Jiang Yue took Aunt Fang home. After returning home, Jiang Yue immediately increased Aunt Fang's monthly salary by 50%. Aunt Fang was so happy that she couldn't stop smiling.

In the following month, Jiang Yue's daily life was very regular. He would get up early, eat, and go to study with Mr. Sun. He would go home for a nap at noon, and read and study on his own in the afternoon. After a month, Jiang Yue finally entered the door of traditional Chinese medicine.

A month later, the pharmacy was renovated and named Jimin Pharmacy. After that, I went to the store to study every day, and watched Mr. Sun treat other people. I wrote down the questions I didn’t understand, and asked Mr. Sun when there were fewer people around. Jiang Yue also hired a rickshaw to pick up and drop off Mr. Sun every day, and did so for a year. The life in these two months was exactly the same as when I was preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination in modern times.

When there were only a few days left before the start of school, Mr. Sun finally said that he wanted to take her as his apprentice. God knows how happy Jiang Yue was, and tears just fell from her eyes. In the past two months, she realized how knowledgeable Mr. Sun was and how he could easily treat any kind of patient. In just two months, the pharmacy became famous.

Jiang Yue originally thought that Mr. Sun was not well-known in Shanghai, but in the second month, many people came to visit him one after another. Jiang Yue really got a big bargain. If Mr. Sun had not been thinking of doing something, Jiang Yue would not have been able to invite him.

When Jiang Yue was going home today, she didn't notice that she was almost flying when she walked. When Aunt Fang saw Jiang Yue coming in, she said, "Did Mr. Sun agree to take you as his apprentice?"

Jiang Yue was surprised and asked, "Aunt Fang, how did you know that?"

"Hey, I saw it!"
