My Little Pony: Another World Adventure
Chapter 91: Damn! There's something awesome!
Latan watched as the silver light that made up the illusory face dissipated from Ginny's face, and Lani's soul that resided in the little lioness fell into a dormant state again.
This brief exchange between the siblings threw a series of questions at Latan -
If the great will of mercy mentioned by Gandalf is the supreme will that symbolizes the Golden Law, then who is Zheng Shilong and the "he" he saw? Can we trust what "he" said? What is the truth of ascension? Why must we not be stubborn?
The mysteries grew, but Latan knew at least one thing.
Time is really running out. For him, or for the world.
Ginny shuddered, as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over her head. She twisted her body uncomfortably, "No wonder Luna is always crazy... It feels so weird to have another soul speaking with my body."
"Were you conscious when she took over your body?" Latan asked, looking at the increasingly dense buildings outside the carriage window. London was almost here.
"I can hear, see, smell and taste. But when she came out, I felt like..." Ginny picked a more appropriate metaphor, "If you sleep in the wrong position, your hands or feet will be pressed to the point of losing feeling. Even though it's still connected to your body, when you pick it up and watch it fall limply... it feels strange."
"As you can imagine, it must be unpleasant." Latan drank the last sip of pumpkin juice. Although he would not be troubled by this kind of discomfort of mortals, he had experienced things that were more out of control and more unfamiliar to his own body. "I will talk to Lani and ask her to transfer her soul to other bodies."
"No," Ginny said firmly.
Latarn was slightly surprised, "Are you sure?"
"I have a talking mouth, Latan. If necessary, I will talk to her in person." Ginny rubbed her cheeks vigorously, and her freckled skin flushed a lovely pink. "And, to be honest, she taught me a lot. Including how to behave and be a person, and the magic of Calia Academy that you talked about."
"Ginny, I can teach you too—"
"Depending on you for everything? I don't want to be that kind of person." Ginny's tone left no doubt, "I don't want to be an appendage that parasitizes on you, Latarn. Besides, you've been busy enough. I heard from Dante and the others that you haven't slept for several days."
"Sleep is optional for me." Latan looked at the stubborn little lioness and shrugged helplessly. "It seems that you are more independent and stronger than I thought."
Ginny scratched her neck sheepishly and said with a silly smile, "Hey, no...ah! It seems we are almost at the station! I haven't changed into my dress yet!"
"Ms. Weasley, please come this way." Ms. Gustav, with a cold face, walked out from the wall of the carriage like a ghost. She pointed her finger, and the sliding door leading to the compartment opened automatically.
In the compartment was an antique carved wooden dressing table, kindly sponsored by Mrs. Padiford, the former mayor of Hogsmeade village.
From Muggle foundation, lipstick, concealer, and base makeup to the iris dye potion of the brand Fengqingwanzhong and the Mr. Cyxis brand alluring perfume that are loved by many witches, the table is full of everything, which is simply a woman's arsenal.
Although Ginny had dared to secretly take Fred and George's flying broomsticks at night since she was six years old, she was only eleven years old after all. She had never seen such a scene before. She said in panic, "But I don't know how to put on makeup!"
Ms. Gustav was also in a dilemma: "This... I don't know much about human aesthetics..."
"I will," said Latan.
Ms. Gustave and Ginny: "Huh?"
"Why are you so surprised?" Latan raised his eyebrows. "Makeup is nothing more than painting with the skin as the canvas. I painted many paintings myself when I was in Prospero, and any one of them is worth the price of a habitable planet. So, just change your clothes and leave the makeup to me."
"I don't quite understand it, but it feels so awesome!" Ginny dragged her suitcase into the compartment, poked her head out and shouted, "Don't peek!"
"Really? I'm not Jewish." Latan made a hurt expression, waved his hands, and stood up from the floor. "You go in quickly. I need to change my clothes too."
Seeing that the cubicle door was tightly closed, Latan looked out the window at the lifeless London and opened his arms. "Change my clothes."
As soon as the words fell, there was a sound of fluttering wings in the carriage, and chubby little metal angels flew out from the niches, incense spewing from their scarlet eyes and chanting hymns through their slightly open iron lips. The edges of the iron rings on their heads were lined with needle-like spikes, symbolizing the blooming light and filled with the meaning of redemption from suffering.
This is the Cherubim-type drone servant.
"Explosive Tiger!" Ratan scolded. The Great Boom Dragon opened its mouth curiously, wanting to taste the Cherubim. "You can't eat these things. Be careful not to upset your stomach. If everything goes according to plan tonight, there will be plenty of food for you."
The Great Boom Dragon closed its mouth sullenly, and when Latan looked away, it suddenly stretched its head and bit the chubby steel calf of the Cherubim, directly biting the unfortunate mechanical creature in half.
It chewed the contents of its mouth with great interest, then retched and spat out a pile of smoking, leaking parts on the floor, using its two front paws to scratch at its tongue, which was covered in engine oil.
"You..." Latan glared at Dahonglong with both anger and amusement, "Ms. Gustav, please help me take off my clothes."
Lady Gustave gently undressed Latarn, and the cherubim placed a pure white robe around their master's shoulders. The flawless robe was embroidered with a scarab in golden thread, representing the ashes of Prospero.
Latan lifted his foot, and Ms. Gustave took off his leather shoes that symbolized the so-called British gentleman style and put on leather strap sandals with brass round rivets for him. The cherubim put the wide gold and blue collar around his throat. In the center of the collar was a one-eye carving with a sapphire as big as a pigeon egg.
To alchemists, gemstones were the least valuable things, not even as attractive as a piece of 99.99% pure iron.
Finally, the two cherubim jointly held up a forehead ornament with a gold base and blue edges, and fixed it on Latan's forehead with a ring-shaped buckle. Metal face guards extended downward from both ends, fitting tightly to Latan's slightly too long cheeks, and presented a dune-like bulge upwards, with a columnar amethyst embedded in the center of the radial metal groove.
"General." Ms. Gustav turned sideways, and four cherubim flew over holding a mirror. "Please look."
Looking at the figure in the mirror, Latan pondered for a moment: "This outfit doesn't match the 'Star Crusher General'."
Ms. Gustave asked nervously, "What should we do? Even if we remake the dress right now—"
"Ma'am, what I mean is..." Latan said with a smile, "Let the Scarlet King control it."
The magnetic field rotates!
There was a bright purple light in his left eye, and Latan's skin turned into a transparent blood red, forming a very sharp contrast with the white robe. The amethyst and sapphire emitted a faint light at the same time, making his figure surrounded by the cherubim look even more mysterious and majestic.
"The last time I wore this outfit was before Prospero was burned." Latan examined his reflection. "Not even close."
Picking up the Book of Magnus, Latan took out the folded Red Lion Banner from it, and wrapped the bright red flag embroidered with a roaring lion and the scorching sun over his left shoulder and tied it around his right waist.
At this moment, the five colors of red, white, gold, blue and purple reached a high degree of harmony. Latan held the Book of Magnus, his left hand clenched into a fist and hung in front of his lower abdomen, "Perfect. This feels like-"
"It feels like a space pharaoh who traveled from ancient Egypt to the interstellar age and back again," Ginny complained. "And it smells like a piece of smoked meat."
The little lioness came out of the cubicle, and changed her plain black wizard robe into a creamy white Lolita-style long skirt, knee-length white socks and round-toed leather shoes. With the small hat on her head, she looked as cute and charming as a princess.
But what the princess held in her hand was not a small umbrella, but a pyroxene steel staff that could smash Dante's head.
Latan looked at her helplessly: "Although what you said is true, I am really not a space pharaoh."
"Okay, Tutankhamun." Ginny stuffed all her clothes into the suitcase and sat down in front of the dressing table. "Melasses II, can you help me put on makeup?"
Gustave was clearly trying to hold back a laugh, so Latan used the Book of Magnus to smack her into the floor of the carriage.
Although a scream was heard, judging from the trembling ending, the machine soul was very happy.
Damn, she was so happy.
The Cherubim brought concealer and makeup base in turn, and Latarn squatted down in front of Ginny, using his fingers as a paintbrush, gently rubbing the concealer on the girl's skin, making the freckles disappear under the makeup.
He was paying attention, but judging by the smell of hormones surging in the air, Ginny was a little nervous.
Latan rubbed the foundation on the back of his hand and applied it to the skin on the side of Ginny's nose while whispering, "Regarding Lani, I have no objection to your idea of dealing with her body ownership relationship alone."
"But?" Ginny watched as Latan took the powder puff from the Cherubim.
"She has great ambitions, very great." Latan wet the powder puff, dried it, and patted the foundation on Ginny's face. "In order to achieve her goal, she can even use death as a tool. Frankly speaking, I don't want her soul to live in you."
Ginny closed her eyes so that Latan could apply loose powder to the skin around her eyes. "Lani has no effect on me. All her power remains in Luna. At most, it will make me condense a piece of pyroxene every day."
"Even without power, the soul of a demigod is enough to obliterate the consciousness of a mortal." Latan warned, choosing an eyebrow pencil of the same color as Ginny's from the dressing table. "The more times she wakes up, the easier it is for you to become her puppet."
His hand was as steady as a milling cutter on an industrial machine tool, outlining a thin willow-leaf eyebrow from the girl's brow to the end of her brow. Ginny opened her eyes and looked at him, saying, "So you should quickly teach me how to make the Mark of Purity instead of nagging me here."
"The Mark of Purity can only work on machines and mortal creatures, not on demigods."
Latan dipped a nose shadow brush into light-colored powder and gently poked it on the silver mirror of the makeup box so that the color would be more evenly applied. He then lightly swept the brush head across both sides of Ginny's nose.
"This is a war, Ginny. A war between demigods and time travelers, and between demigods and demigods. Ordinary people caught in it are worse than ants, and at best can only be regarded as dust that is swept up. You are still young, and there are infinite possibilities in your future."
"Stop!" Ginny held Latan's hand and said seriously, "In terms of physical age alone, I am three months older than you!"
Latarn looked into her brown eyes, "You are only human after all."
"Will the war be soft-hearted just because I'm a mortal?" Ginny's tone was surprisingly mature. It was obvious that she had learned a lot from Lani during this period. "In your eyes, I'm still young, a little kid who hasn't experienced puberty. However, in times of crisis, there is only responsibility. Since Lani is living in me, my responsibility is to step into this war."
"…Twenty-eight thousand years later, the war between humans and alien races has become so brutal that it cannot be worse. Even children will be put on bloodstained and tattered military uniforms, holding weapons with the brains of their previous owners, and thrown into the meat grinder-like front line.
