My Little Pony: Another World Adventure

Chapter 87: Umbridge's Bizarre Adventure

Umbridge moved her short, flabby legs and quickly caught up with the Minister of Magic, saying breathlessly, "Mr. Fudge, I think it is necessary -"

"That's not necessary!" Fudge raised his voice sharply, causing the Aurors around him to turn their heads and look. A group of adult wizards were blocking the entrance of the Leaky Cauldron, unable to get in or out.

"Sir!" Umbridge's voice also became louder. "We can't let Rhodes Island manipulate us. You and I have seen how powerful those orcs are! If they want to seize power, they can do it with just a flick of their fingers!"

"Seize power?" Fudge looked as if he had never thought of this possibility, and the idea frightened him. The blood suddenly drained from his face and his greasy double chin kept trembling.

Oh, sweet Fudge, innocent Fudge.

Umbridge thought, panting.

No one likes stability more than you do, which is why people pushed you to power after Voldemort disappeared. You would be a good minister in peacetime, but Rhodes Island will not sit down with you to drink tea and eat cake.

If there's anything it wants to eat, it's the oil squeezed from you and your drained corpse.

"This is impossible!" Fudge said in astonishment, "Dr. Avery is a respectable man, and the Avery family has a long history and pure bloodline!"

He said this in a final tone, as if that would shut Umbridge up.

Do you think the nobles don't want to take the stage? !

Umbridge suppressed her anger and said, "The Avery family is not under the control of the government, but we are part of the government. Although Dr. Avery keeps saying that he will take away the high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Magic and the government to escape from Godzilla, no one can say whether he will do so after the land-based giant ship is built."

Fudge blinked in confusion: "Then we can buy a position from him. The government can give him money and resources..."

Umbridge really wanted to knock open Fudge's dull head to see if the brain inside was still in its original place. "Money is valuable only if it has power, otherwise it is just a pile of waste paper!"

She pointed out sharply: "We are too weak! We must purchase Vanguard-class Titans from the Primaris and train pilots at all costs! Only then will we be qualified to negotiate with Rhodes Island on an equal footing!"

"Watch your tone, Deputy Minister!" Fudge roared angrily, "I see... you want the Ministry of Magic to fight Godzilla!"

This was beyond Umbridge's expectations. She opened her eyes wide and said, "I didn't mean that!"

"No, that's what you mean!" Fudge pointed his finger at Umbridge's nose, his eyes wide open, like eggs with red blood floating in them. "You want Godzilla to kill me so you can take over! Yes, that's it!"

He can replace...

Latarn's words floated in her mind. Umbridge looked at Fudge, who was in a hopeless situation, and suddenly felt extremely tired: "Mr. Fudge, I sincerely implore you to calm down and think carefully. Rhodes Island——"

"No need to say more!" Fudge waved his hand impatiently, "Since this is your first offense, I won't hold you responsible. But if it happens again, your position as Deputy Minister will be taken by someone else. Alastor!"

The old Auror who had retired but was rehired came forward. He was a tall but hunchbacked man, with his left foot completely broken and replaced with a claw-like wooden leg. He had to use a knotty cane to walk.

Like his broken legs, there was hardly any healthy flesh on his face. Hideous scars crisscrossed and divided his facial skin into several pieces. His mouth had become a rugged and crooked slit, and his nose was missing a large piece of flesh, appearing extremely hollow, like the eye socket of a charred corpse.

As for his eyes, one of them was small, black, and gleaming like an obsidian bead. The other was large, round, and bright blue, almost completely protruding from his eye socket. This big eye kept darting around, even rolling into his head, leaving only a pale ball.

Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, the legendary Auror who filled half of the cells in Azkaban, tossed his thick grey hair behind his ear, leaving only a stubble, and squinted at Fudge (with both eyes together): "Hmm?"

His voice was hoarse and rough. A dark wizard once inserted a dagger imbued with dark magic into his throat, but this did not kill Mad-Eye.

Few people could face Moody's blank, sharp gaze without feeling fear. Fudge was obviously one of the majority. He couldn't help but shudder before pointing to the door of the Leaky Cauldron.

"All wizards must participate in the construction of the Land Cruiser," said the Minister, "and arrest all those who evade labor in Diagon Alley!"

"Including goblins?" Moody asked grimly, and his magical eye began to scan the surroundings again.

"Of course not!" Fudge answered without thinking, "We still have to borrow money from Gringotts to pay Dr. Avery!"

Umbridge said quickly: "Mr. Minister, I think goblins have to -"

"Shut up!" Fudge, who had been contradicted several times, flew into a rage, "Shut your fat mouth! I don't want to hear another word from you today! Not even a single word!"

He can replace it.

Latarn's whispers became clearer and clearer. Umbridge closed her mouth and watched coldly as Moody gave an order and the Aurors kicked open the door of the Leaky Cauldron.

Old Tom's terrified voice came from inside the door: "What happened?!"

"Disarm yourself! Petrify everyone!" A middle-aged Auror cast two spells in a row, and watched Old Tom fall straight to the ground after his wand flew out of his hand. Then he shouted to the terrified wizards in the bar, "Aurors are investigating the case! Everyone put down your wands!"

This caused an uproar. All the wizards who came to the Leaky Cauldron to drown their sorrows in alcohol and numb their nerves suddenly jumped up, and some used Apparition on the spot, or ran towards Diagon Alley, but more people were knocked to the ground by the Aurors' spells.

"Don't run!" Fudge shouted, jumping up and down, "The Ministry of Magic has taken control of Hogwarts! Your children are in our hands! If you don't want them to be hurt, give up resistance!"

It was I who provided Fudge with the plan of using protons to control the wizards.

Umbridge thought bitterly. She saw several wizards who were planning to put up a last-ditch effort had to lower their wands unwillingly when they heard that the child might be threatened. Aurors pounced on them like wolves, and ropes shot out from their wands to tie them up tightly.

"You can't do this!" A wizard was stuck to the table in the bar by a sticking spell, shouting heartbreakingly, "I want to report it! I want to report it!"

The Auror who had glued him to the table replied nonchalantly, "I'm the one who handles reports."

"Ignore these people and chase after those who escaped!" Fudge shouted, his round, plump face flushed red. "Go check their information! Raid their homes! Bring their children back from Hogwarts!"

Make a fuss, make a fuss.

Umbridge began to be grateful that Fudge was willing to deal with this matter himself, so that people would only remember a hysterical minister and no one would pay attention to her, a "disgusting old toad".

Just as the Aurors began to raid the guest rooms on the second floor of the bar, a slick, sarcastic voice sounded from above the stairs.

"Hey, Minister Fudge." Lucius Malfoy walked down the wooden stairs slowly, leaning on his silver snake cane. His cold and distant light-colored eyes stared at Fudge, whose expression changed drastically. "You really have great authority. If I don't cooperate, are you going to capture my Draco?"

"Mr. Malfoy!" Facing the Ministry's top financial sponsor, Fudge instantly wilted like a balloon that had been punctured. He rubbed his hands and smiled apologetically, "Are you kidding me? You are a pure-blooded aristocrat, how can you be compared with these commoners?"

As he said this, he shouted to the Aurors, "Open your eyes wide! Make sure you are the one who is right before you strike, and don't offend the nobles! Except for the goblins and pure-blood nobles, capture all the wizards and witches!"

Moody seemed to be deaf and had no reaction. In the old Auror's mind, Lucius was a major suspect in the Azkaban prison break some time ago. His normal eyes and magic eyes were fixed on Lucius' face: "You!"

Lucius stood in the middle of the stairs, his forearm resting on the handrail, and raised his chin lightly: "Me."

This gesture is telling Moody: So what if I admit it? Your real boss and my real boss are in a cooperative relationship, so you can't ignore the overall situation.

Umbridge understood, but Fudge was still confused. He thought the old Auror wanted to catch the Ministry of Magic's golden thigh. He quickly sent Moody away to catch the escaped wizard and approached Lucius in a flattering manner: "Mr. Malfoy, how come you have time to come to Diagon Alley today?"

Lucius didn't even look at Fudge. He lowered his head to admire his polished nails and said calmly, "Are you saying hello or hitting me?"

Cold sweat instantly slid down Fudge's forehead. At this moment, a witch who was escorted by the Aurors shouted, "I can't leave! My child is only six months old! She will starve to death! She will starve to death!"

"Go to her house and find her daughter!" Fudge turned around and gave the order mercilessly, "Doesn't Dumbledore like children? I'll let that old guy raise her to her heart's content! Send her daughter to Hogwarts!"

As soon as he finished yelling, Fudge immediately put on a smiling face again, "Mr. Malfoy, how dare I hit you. I'm just afraid that someone will not recognize your noble identity. Isn't it just a good opportunity that I brought the Auror here--"

"Surveillance?" Lucius's cold tone made Fudge shut up quickly. The head of the Malfoy family raised a smile, "Relax, Cornelius. It's okay to tell you. There have been many disasters recently and house prices have plummeted. I just came to buy a few stores to save some money for my retirement."

Fudge wiped his sweat with his handkerchief, "But the Ministry of Magic stipulates that each store in Diagon Alley can only buy one..."

"Do you think I don't know, you fool?" Lucius scolded softly, frightening Fudge so much that he waved his hands repeatedly. "Don't worry, I have taken care of everything in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and no one will have any objection to my purchase this time. Of course, I haven't forgotten you, Minister. I will check your own account at Gringotts later, there may be a surprise."

Fudge immediately smiled and said, "Ah, what you said is so polite. Without the twenty-eight pure-blood families, there would be no Ministry of Magic today, right? Just buy with confidence, buy as much as you want, there will definitely be no one who will tell anyone about this."

Lucius smiled slightly and took out a heavy bag from his pocket. "Brothers." He threw the bag to the Aurors in the bar, "I'll buy you a drink."

The pocket fell to the ground, and handfuls of gold Galleons burst out from it, landing on the ground, the table, and on the wizards with unwilling and humiliated faces, like a fountain of pure gold, shining and charming.

The Aurors happily picked up the gold coins rolling on the ground. Their salary was barely average, but they didn't have to worry about their families and children being captured to repair the landspeeder. Not to mention a handful of gold Galleons, even the equivalent amount of silver Sickles would be enough to make them forget what happened today.

On the stairs, Lucius intimately put his arm around the flattered Fudge's shoulders, as if enjoying the hateful looks from ordinary wizards.

Moody didn't pick it up, and neither did several Aurors. Umbridge glanced at the shield-shaped emblem of two crossed wands on the gold Galleon, representing the authority of the Ministry of Magic, and suddenly felt extremely ironic.

Obviously, she had taken a lot of bribes in the past, but when the crisis came, she was the only corrupt official trying to save the government from the tyranny of Rhodes Island.
