My Little Pony: Another World Adventure
Chapter 8: The Supervisors Gather
Ratan felt that compared to the days he spent alone in the Leaky Cauldron, every day he spent with the Weasleys and Harry Potter at the Burrow was full of surprises and unexpected events.
First, there were the mirrors. Every mirror in the Burrow seemed to have a Mrs. Weasley built into it. When Latan looked into a mirror for the first time, it screamed, "Tie your tie! Sloppy!"
Whenever the house gets too quiet, the ghouls in the attic start howling loudly and rattling the pipes.
I really don't know how Ron, who lives in the attic, has lived in peace with it over the past few years. When Latan was interrupted by the sound of knocking on the pipes for the fourth time while teaching his diary, he wanted to go up and stab the thing to death with his tungsten alloy wand.
Fortunately, the narrow staircase of the Burrow saved the ghoul's life. At the same time, Fred and George would not give it too many opportunities to feel quiet. Explosions could be heard from the twins' room from time to time, and every Weasley thought this was "normal."
"If I wake up one day and find Fred and George's room in pieces," Harry said to Ratan during a garden gnome cleanup, "I won't be surprised at all."
Cleaning up garden gnomes was Ratan's favorite pastime, second only to learning new spellcasting techniques from his journal.
Because the predecessor of the shabby house seemed to be a large pigpen surrounded by stones, there was a large space behind the house where all kinds of weeds and wild flowers grew wildly. The wall was surrounded by tangled trees, and there was a large green pond with many big-bellied frogs in it.
It is also because of this that the goblins made their home here.
They are not the fat old men wearing pointed hats and colorful clothes as imagined by Muggles. In fact, they are thin and small, with rough and tough black and yellow skin, large and deformed heads, and full of sharp teeth.
They look scary, but it's very easy to get rid of them. Just pick them up, shake them a few times, and then throw them far away to make them dizzy. Then the dizzy goblins won't be able to find their goblin holes.
"Latan, you saved my family, how can I let you..." Mrs. Weasley said to Latan who took the initiative to participate in the goblin cleaning activity.
"Ma'am," Latan said, expressionless as always, "No book tells me that doing good deeds is for the sake of free food and drink with a clear conscience."
It turned out that Latan was indeed an expert at cleaning out the goblins. The red-haired giant could easily throw these ugly little creatures hundreds of meters away. If he tried hard (especially when his fingers were bitten by the goblins), he could even throw them to the other side of the mountain.
"Try this trick, Latan!" George grabbed five or six goblins with both hands, and spun like a windmill, scattering the goblins in all directions like flowers from the sky.
"Weakling," said Fred, throwing a goblin like a lasso. "At least I can throw it over the hedge."
"But won't they be back soon?" Latan looked at the ugly little creatures that Fred and George had thrown out. They had already crawled up from the ground in a daze, staggering around trying to find their own holes.
"It's all right." Harry shook his sore arms. "Mr. Weasley likes them very much. He thinks goblins are amazing."
"Yeah, and they're not very smart." Ron kicked the goblins into the pond, scaring the frogs away. "When they heard we were going to clean them up, they all came to watch the fun."
Latan looked at the ugly heads that popped out from the meadow, hesitated for a moment, reached out and grabbed a goblin, threw it into the air, and pulled out the wand hanging from his waist while it was still in the rising stage: "Faint!"
The red light hit the goblin's body, and its energy in struggling and screaming disappeared in an instant. It fell down like a puppet with its strings cut, and hung on the tree branch.
The diary said that I should practice using spells to hit moving targets to improve my accuracy, and these goblins are perfect for training.
"That's a new way to play." Fred was eager to try it out. "Get it, Ron!"
Ron was hit in the chest by the goblin thrown by his brother, and sat down in the pond, staring at the goblin he had just kicked in.
Just as Ron was cursing and picking up a few goblins to teach Fred a lesson, Harry said to Ratan in surprise, "Why can you use magic outside of school? Aren't you afraid of being warned by the Ministry of Magic?"
He used a levitation spell to drop a whole cake on a builder's head at the Dursleys' and received a warning from the Ministry of Magic.
Latan saw the news in the Daily Prophet on August 8, and later learned from Harry that it was not Harry who wanted to do it at the time, but an elf from the Malfoy family who did it.
"Harry," George said, imitating Mrs. Weasley's sweet voice, "you live in a Muggle area, and using magic is as conspicuous as Percy singing in the bathroom." (Latane nodded very approvingly. When he first heard Percy singing, he thought the Gryffindor prefect was under the Cruciatus Curse.) "But as long as there are traces of magic from adult wizards around, even if you use magic with the Trace on you--"
"Excuse me." Harry felt his chest and back in horror. "What on earth am I wearing?!"
"The Trace is a spell used by the British Ministry of Magic to supervise underage wizards." Ratan said, "The Trace will only take effect after the young wizards enroll in Hogwarts. Even if magic is used before enrollment, the Ministry of Magic will not know. The above is what I read in the Underage Wizard Protection Act."
The red-haired giant bent down and patted Harry on the shoulder, saying earnestly: "It is good to read more books."
"You talk like an oversized Hermione," muttered Ron.
After learning about this legal loophole, Harry was completely relieved. Gnomes began to fly all over the garden, and everyone happily took their wands to shoot at the goblins, competing to see who had the better aim.
Even Ginny joined in, firing her wand wildly, her proficiency in Stunning Spells improved by leaps and bounds, and her firepower was even more powerful than her brothers.
Ron pounded his wand glumly in his palm. It was the wand once used by his older brother Bill. The tip of the wand was broken, revealing the unicorn hair core, which was shiny silver.
"Give it some strength, old thing!" Ron slammed the wand with every word he said, and the old wand, which had been in disrepair for so long, seemed to think it should be strengthened, so -
A huge bubble shot out from the broken tip of the wand, slowly floating in the air, and it looked colorful and beautiful in the sun. Until a bee landed on it, and then...
Boom! ! !
It was like a thunderclap! The huge bubble exploded, and the loud noise shook the Burrow three times. The goblins in the garden screamed and fled in all directions, while the people present turned pale, as if there was a beehive in their ears. Apart from the buzzing sound, they could hear nothing.
Oh, no, I can still hear some sounds.
"RON WEASLEY!!!"
Mrs. Weasley flung open the back door, slipper on one foot only, mayonnaise splattered all over her apron, and it was strange how such a plump, amiable lady could look so much like a fanged tiger.
Even Percy, who only showed up at dinner time, leaned out of the window, his face covered in ink, and looked around with his wand in hand: "What happened? Is anyone hurt?"
Ron was trembling all the way to dinner. But it was a blessing in disguise for Mr. Weasley came home from get off work and learned about it. He asked for Ron's wand, took a closer look, and said to his youngest son, "It seems like it's time to buy you a new wand."
"But, Arthur," said Mrs. Weasley, "there aren't many left at home..."
"It's decided." Mr. Weasley was tough in front of his wife. "How can you learn magic well with a wand like this? Ron, I'll take you to Diagon Alley this weekend."
Ratan sat at the dining table, looking at the sumptuous dinner on the table, which was just as good as the one he had had on his first day at the Burrow. He then looked at Mrs. Weasley's embarrassed expression, and his heart seemed to be tightened by an invisible hand.
We should think of something to do...
After buying so many books, I still had more than a hundred Galleons in my purse, but I couldn't just stand up and say, "I'll pay for the wand."
The book says that it is impolite and overbearing for outsiders to interfere in other people's family affairs.
Although it can solve temporary difficulties, it is very likely that the friendship of this family will be lost.
What should I do?
Latan had a tasteless dinner. Mrs. Weasley asked with concern, "What's wrong, child? Is the food not to your liking?"
Latan felt even more upset. He quickly shook his head and started eating with big mouthfuls.
After dinner, Latan moved the coffee table that he used as a stool back to the living room, and still thinking about this matter in his mind, he walked upstairs to the room.
"Wait a minute, kid," Mr. Weasley called to him. "Would you mind coming to the garage and giving me a hand?"
Latan was stunned for a moment, nodded, and followed Mr. Weasley into the garage on the east side of the Burrow.
It's called a garage, but it's actually just a shed made of stones and iron sheets. Amid the wrenches, screwdrivers and auto parts scattered all over the floor, there's a turquoise Ford Anglia parked. The round body of the car gleams under the light of the bulbs, like a giant beetle.
"She's very beautiful, isn't she?" Mr. Weasley said proudly, taking off his coat and rolling up his sleeves, and picking up something that looked like a metal snail shell from the workbench beside him. "It's an imported American brand. With this turbine, she can be turned into a beast. I heard that your German BMW brand is very famous among Muggles. I really want to..."
"Sir, do you know what we Germans call BMW cars?" Ratan helped Mr. Weasley open the hood of the Ford Anglia. "Bavarian Mist Wagen."
Mr. Weasley was amused. He used his wand to direct the wrench and screwdriver to install the turbine in a few seconds. He pointed to the engine engraved with runes and magic circles and said, "Guess what it runs on?"
Latan looked at the engine, which looked more like some kind of biological organ than a cold metal machine, and said, "I don't know, sir, but I don't think it runs on gasoline."
"You're half right. It still needs a little gasoline to activate. But once it's fully operational, these runes and diagrams can convert the heat and kinetic energy generated by the engine into magic."
Mr. Weasley looked at the stunned Ratan with satisfaction: "Magic can not only drive this car, but also increase the remaining gasoline in the tank according to Gamp's law of transfiguration, and then circulate it back and forth. What do Muggle scientists call this machine? Pseudo... Pseudo..."
"Pseudo-perpetual motion machine!" exclaimed Latan. He had read about this concept in "Elementary Mechanics".
"Yes, that's it." Mr. Weasley snapped his fingers, "But I prefer to call it the 'Magic Engine'."
Latan's thoughts diverged. If the magic engine was installed on tanks and airplanes and wizards were allowed to drive them, constantly producing more ammunition and fuel, and at the same time using repair spells to restore the damage, then the Axis Powers that have been ravaging the world would probably be defeated decades earlier!
