I was a knight in the Middle Ages

Chapter 43: The Fall of Bakuzan

"Lord Alpha, there is a fire over there. A battle may be taking place." Lilia has the best eyesight. Even in the dark, she can see the subtle changes in the sky.

"Direction and distance?" Alpha couldn't see anything anyway.

"Ten kilometers southeast." Lilia looked around and came to this conclusion.

"Is that the direction of the bandits' camp?" Lina's first thought was the battle area.

"Everyone prepare for battle." The horn has sounded, and all the knight infantry are ready to go as quickly as possible.

"Fatam, Quinn, your heavy cavalry, sentinels, and infantry stay behind to block any enemies who want to rush out." Alpha ordered.

"Yes, we will ensure that the mission is completed." The two men received the order and retreated to the battle line.

"Bach, Rowling, Lina, Lilia, follow me and kill the enemy." Alpha led the fifty-man knight group and advanced quickly towards the direction of the fire.

"Lord Alpha, the smoke has shifted one kilometer to the west." Lilia sent the message again.

"Okay, let's turn around and head for Qishan City." Everyone immediately changed direction.

"Lord Alpha, aren't you going to save your little lover?" Rowling joked.

"Where will the enemies who break through go?" Alpha thought calmly.

"Any direction is possible." Rowling couldn't guess the enemy's movements either.

"If I were these bandits, I would go and plunder Qishan City again." Alpha was shocked by his own thoughts.

This is indeed the bandits' only hope. It is impossible for them to take away too many supplies if they break out, and the only place nearby that can provide supplies is Qishan City.

"Impossible! They just looted Qishan City once, and now they want to go back again. How bold!" Lina couldn't believe it.

"Even after the looting once, the city defenders don't believe they will come again." Alpha led everyone to speed up the charge.

Alpha's guess was correct, the bandits' target was Qishan City.

Although the defenders of Qishan City were well prepared, they still seemed powerless in the face of the bandits who came and went like the wind. The bandits quickly broke through the city gate and looted everywhere.

When Alpha and his knights arrived at Qishan City, the city was ablaze with flames, and it was obvious that it was under attack.

"Bach, Lina, you guys go around the South Gate from the outside and stop the bandits at all costs. Rowling, come with me to the city and drive the bandits out." Alpha acted quickly. Because there was a warehouse for supplies in the South Gate area, the bandits would most likely head straight to the South City.

"Make way, make way." However, Alpha's cavalry could not take advantage of their speed in the city. Having just experienced a bandit attack, everyone came out to watch the fun, which greatly hindered the Alpha cavalry's advance.

By the time Alpha arrived at South City, smoke was everywhere. The bandits had already taken away the supplies and fled the city.

This time, Bakuzan did not delay or take any notice. He entered the warehouse and robbed it for only 20 minutes before fleeing. Alpha's cavalry did not have time to block the robbers' way.

"Chase." Alpha was not discouraged and led everyone to chase again.

Bakuzan is a tough enemy, and faced with desperate situations, he displays great resilience and plays tricks on Alpha time and again.

However, Alpha's face was calm, without any anger at all.

Although Bakuzan had escaped from him several times, Bakuzan was right in front of him now. After all, the one who laughs last is the winner.

"Damn it, why is it haunting me and keeps chasing me?" Bakuzan looked at the pursuers getting closer and closer and had to split up his forces to escape.

"Baku is standing on the right, Lord Alpha." Lilia had shot an arrow through the other's shoulder before, and now she is very familiar with the other's figure.

"Bach, Rowling, you go chase the enemies on the left. Lina and I will chase the ones on the right." Bach is extremely brave and Rowling is meticulous. It should not be a problem for the two of them to chase the bandits with twice the number of people.

There are more than 20 knights on Alpha's side, and there are more than ten people around Bakuzan, but they can't organize a decent counterattack at all.

"Chief, let's go stop them." The three bandits turned their horses around. They knew that this was a life-and-death struggle, and they were not afraid at all, but even felt a little excited.

"Shoot." Unfortunately, Alpha didn't give the bandits any chance at all. Just one encounter turned the bandits into hedgehogs. Although Alpha didn't want to sacrifice his teammates at this time, the opponent was obviously at the end of his strength, so there was no need to make unnecessary sacrifices.

"You are not knights at all, damn it." Bakuzan thought that the other party would fight fairly and at least leave a few people behind as a token of support. Now, he didn't even delay for a minute and lost three knights.

As time went by, Bakuzan realized that he might not be able to escape Alpha's pursuit. He knew that his only chance was to fight back and fight for a chance of survival.

"I'll stay, and you guys run as far as possible." Bakuzan took off his heavy armor, turned around, and faced the approaching Alpha troops.

"We are knights. There are only fallen knights, no fleeing knights." Several knights stayed with Bakuzan, without looking back.

Lilia saw Bakuzan stop running and knew this might be his last chance. She took a deep breath, put on her bow and arrow, and aimed at Bakuzan.

The fire of revenge burned in Lilia's heart. She wanted to avenge her parents and family. Her fingers trembled slightly, but she still pulled the bowstring hard and shot the arrow at Bakuzan.

Bakuzan anticipated this arrow and raised his shield to block the arrow. The arrow hit the shield, making a crisp sound.

Bakuzan put down his shield and looked at Lilia. His eyes were full of anger and ridicule. If it was before, Lilia would definitely be dead.

"Your archery skills are good, but you are too young. Do you think you can kill me with one arrow?" Bakuzan said loudly.

Lilia did not answer, but raised the bow again and put the second arrow on it.

"Bakuzan, you have no chance. Put down your weapon and surrender." Alpha rode his warhorse and came to Bakuzan.

"Surrender? Do you think I will surrender to you fake knights? Don't forget, I am the leader of the bandits, and I will not choose to surrender easily." Bakuzan said disdainfully.

Alpha said nothing, but raised the sword in his hand and pointed it at Bakuzan.

"Come on, fake knights. Let me see how powerful you are." Bakuzan raised the greatsword in his hand, ready to fight Alpha with the way of knights.

Lilia was completely unaware of this, her eyes were fixed on the prey in front of her, she pulled the bowstring to its limit and shot the second arrow. However, the arrow missed and just flew past Bakuzan's ear.

Lilia's expression became more determined. She knew she had to keep attacking until Bakuzan fell. She drew out the third arrow and aimed at Bakuzan again.

"Lilya, let me do this! You go keep an eye on the others and don't let them run away." Alpha knew Bakuzan's strength very well. Even though he was seriously injured now, Lillia could not kill him with her strength.

Alpha brandished the sword in his hand and continued to attack Bakuzan. He was agile and nimble like a cheetah in the forest. He jumped up with all his strength, raised the sword in his hand high, and chopped down at Bakuzan's head.

Bakuzan responded calmly, raised the greatsword in his hand and blocked it upwards. Sparks flew from the collision of metals, making a harsh noise.

After stabilizing himself, Baku-Zan swung his sword quickly, trying to push Alpha back. Alpha dodged and swung his sword at Baku-Zan's body.

The battle between the two on horseback became more and more intense. Alpha kept swinging his sword and launched a fierce attack on Bakuzan. Bakuzan responded calmly, using the sword in his hand to protect himself and constantly looking for opportunities to counterattack. The entire battlefield was covered with flying ice and snow, as if it had become a dance.

In the fierce battle, Alpha gradually gained the upper hand. His physical strength and power were better than Bakuzan's. He kept attacking Bakuzan, making Bakuzan gradually fall into a passive position.

However, Bakuzan was not willing to admit defeat. He knew that his physical strength was almost exhausted and he had to find a breakthrough as soon as possible, otherwise he would lose the battle.

Bakuzan began to observe Alpha's attack patterns, looking for weaknesses, and tried to use his experience and skills to neutralize Alpha's offensive.

In the snow, crows were chirping, and the battle between Alpha and Bakuzan was still going on. The two figures were intertwined in the flying snow, and the sound of swords clashing and horses' hooves echoed in the quiet air.

This is a game of will and skill. Both of them are fully focused on the battle and try their best to seek victory.

Alpha's sword was erratic, flexible and deadly. His figure shuttled across the battlefield, trying to find Bakuzan's weakness with every attack; while Bakuzan stood his ground and responded to Alpha's attacks calmly.

As time went by, Alpha's offensive became more and more fierce, and Bakuzan gradually fell into a disadvantage. He realized that if he could not quickly get rid of Alpha's offensive, his chances of turning the tables would become increasingly slim.

Bakuzan began to retreat gradually, trying to delay time and consume Alpha's physical strength. He knew that only by staying sober and calm and not being disturbed by Alpha's stormy offensive would he have a chance to find a breakthrough for counterattack.

As the two of them fought back and forth, time slipped away unnoticed. Suddenly, Alpha's sword leaped up and slashed down towards Bakuzan's head. Bakuzan reacted quickly and raised his sword to block. Sparks flew from the collision of metals, briefly illuminating the dim sky.

However, during this confrontation, Bakuzan felt a sharp pain in his arm and realized that he was injured. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself, but Alpha's attack became more and more fierce, putting him in a vicious cycle.

At this moment, Alpha's body trembled violently, and his long sword fell from his hand and fell to the ground. Bakuzan was shocked, but he did not stop. Instead, he accelerated the rhythm of his attack, trying to win as soon as possible. After the long sword in Alpha's hand fell, he began to try to use his body to resist Bakuzan's fierce attack.

"Sir, the sword." Lina stepped forward and handed the sword to Alpha.

Alpha took the sword and quickly started a new round of battle with Bakuzan. However, this sudden change caught Bakuzan off guard and he gradually lost his rhythm.

Alpha took the opportunity to launch a series of attacks. Although Bakuzan tried his best to resist, his arm injury became more and more serious, and his movements became slower and slower.

At this moment, Alpha suddenly felt a powerful wave of energy coming, and he attacked with all his strength.

There was a loud bang, and Bakuzan was swept away by the sword.

This powerful force is something Alpha has never experienced before, but now is obviously not the time to explore this.

"You are not a real knight at all." Bakuzan spat out blood, obviously no longer able to fight.

Alpha looked at Bakuzan falling to the ground with satisfaction, and sneered, "Then what do you think a true knight is? Fighting you in an upright manner is a knight? Killing civilians is a knight? Insulting women is a knight?"

Bakuzan closed his eyes. He was once a true knight. Even though he became a bandit later, he still followed the knight's commandments. But he didn't know when he had forgotten the dignity of a knight and became a real bandit.

"I'm not a real knight, but I won't bully the weak or harm the people. My duty is to protect them." This is Alpha's chivalry.

"Kill me! Please let my soldiers go. They have never killed a civilian personally." Bakuzan knew that what Alpha said was true. Alpha might not be a real knight, but what about himself?

"Be a good person in your next life." Alpha will not let Bakuzan go. Even if what Bakuzan said is true, he is at least a protective umbrella for the bandits who help the evil.

"Sir, I am willing to follow you." Several personal soldiers disregarded everything and died to show their determination.

If Bakuzan was not a bandit knight, based on his style of doing things, he might have become a brave and fearless leader of the knights, at least much more competent than Will.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, everything has been blown away by the wind.

Bakuzan and his personal soldiers may have received the retribution they deserved, but the people who were killed by the bandits will never see this time.

"Lord Alpha, we won!" Lina cheered, and everyone's faces were filled with smiles of victory.

Alpha knew that the first step of the bandit suppression operation had been successfully completed, so he ordered: "Clean up the battlefield and return to the capital."

During the fierce battle of more than ten days, Alpha led the Knights to fight a desperate battle with the bandits. They shuttled through the mountains and forests, and sweat permeated everyone's clothes. Although exhausted, they were not afraid and moved forward all the way.

Finally, they succeeded in defeating the bandits and won the victory.

Alpha stood on the top of the mountain, overlooking the entire battlefield. He took a deep breath and felt the joy of victory. This was a feeling he had never had before, and he felt himself become taller and stronger.

"Lord Alpha, what should we do next?" Lina asked.

"Recharge your energy and prepare for the tougher battle ahead. This is not the end; our fight is just the beginning."
