Beijing-Hong Kong Confession

Chapter 75: Don’t Talk While Eating or Sleeping

The phone had been quiet all day and she didn't remember him for a moment.

It’s like having a dream as brilliant as summer fireworks. After waking up and returning to reality, you will no longer remember the beauty of the dream.

Zhu Xia casually wiped his face with a clean towel, wiped the water droplets from his temples, and walked towards the door.

"It hung up automatically. Do you want to call back?" Aunt Zhao handed her the phone.

"No, it shouldn't be a big deal." Zhu Xia held the phone in one hand, swiping his fingertips quickly, first browsing the missed calls, then clicking into the app to check the unread messages.

Aunt Zhao saw that she was concentrating on her phone, her eyes darted through her slightly messy long hair, and she smiled warmly and said, "Wash your face, I'll fix your hair for you."

Aunt Zhao has superb skills in all aspects of life, including but not limited to cooking, makeup, and clothing matching.

Upon hearing this, Zhu Xia simply wiped his face and took her arm to the dressing table in the bedroom.

Aunt Zhao put her hands on Zhu Xia's shoulders, bent down to look at the two of them in the mirror, and asked with a smile, "Miss Xia Xia is beautiful and can handle any hairstyle. How about a fishtail braid today?"

Zhu Xia raised her eyes and looked at the person in the mirror, smiled sweetly and said, "I believe in Aunt Zhao's craftsmanship."

While Aunt Zhao was editing her hair, Zhu Xia clicked into WhatsApp, quickly replied to a few messages, and clicked into the chat box with He Lianzhou.

The chat box stopped at the message she sent to him: She has arrived in Beijing.

He asked her if she had had lunch.

She replied that she ate at the airport.

Later he told her that he had to go take care of official business first.

No one dares to mess with Mr. He, a well-known figure in the Hong Kong circle, who usually works for at least a few hours.

She didn't reply to him.

Zhu Xia tapped the keyboard with his fingertips, and within two seconds, he deleted it. He repeated this three times and decided to ignore him for the time being.

As soon as she put down her phone, Aunt Zhao suddenly asked above her head: "He Lianzhou, is he Mr. He, who has a prominent position in the He family in Hong Kong?"

"Aunt Zhao knows him?" Zhu Xia's mouth stiffened slightly.

"I don't know him." Aunt Zhao smiled, the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes were gentle, her ten fingers were nimbly braiding Zhu Xia's hair, and her tone was gentle, "I heard Mr. Song mention him by chance a few months ago."

Zhu Xia pondered and said, "Did Grandpa say anything specific?"

"I didn't hear it clearly. It's been a long time. I've forgotten it even if I heard it." Aunt Zhao opened the drawer and picked out a silk ribbon to tie it to the end of her braid. "Okay. Let's go downstairs for dinner."

After much deliberation, Zhu Xia picked up his phone and sent a message to He Lianzhou.

"I'm having dinner, so I can't answer the phone."

She had been unable to contact him for some time, so he came to her house in person.

She had just experienced something bad during that period. She was out of his sight and there was no news for a long time. He thought she might have been kidnapped... She laughed at him and said, don't think that everyone is like you, with huge power and wealth, and being targeted by criminals all the time.

Thinking of this, Zhu Xia couldn't help laughing.

"What are you thinking about? Why are you smiling so happily?" Song Chengyu stood at the stairs, raised his chin slightly, and asked Zhu Xia, whose steps were unconsciously filled with joy.

Zhu Xia hurriedly stopped himself, put away his smile, raised his eyes and suddenly saw Mr. Song coming out of the tea garden, quickened his pace, walked down the stairs and walked over.

"grandfather."

"I'm back." A smile appeared in the brown pupils of Mr. Song, who had always had a serious face, and his calm and composed voice softened a little.

"Xia Xia." A soft and clear female voice came from behind.

Zhu Xia turned around and saw a middle-aged woman in a champagne-colored cheongsam. Her long hair was tied into a bun, and her beautiful face was smiling gently. She was elegant and decent, and she was not slack even at home. There was a bit of majesty in her expression and a bit of sharpness in her eyes.

Song Chengyu's mother, Wen Qianhui.

Zhu Xia: "Second Aunt."

Aunt Zhao noticed that there was a certain distance in the way they spoke to each other...perhaps it was because they hadn't seen each other for too long.

The villa is magnificently decorated, the ceiling is intricately painted, and the crystal chandeliers illuminate the restaurant, making it look bright and magnificent.

There weren't many people dining at the old house tonight. Zhu Xia guessed that it might be because she was back.

Zhu Xia doesn’t think she is a girl that everyone loves, nor does she care about others’ love.

Even though she lives under someone else's roof, she treats everyone well.

Several family members of the Song family and the Wen family had prejudices against her.

An outsider with no background moved into the Song family and became Song Chengyu's fiancée.

Song Chengyu is the future head of the Song family.

Zhu Xia is the future wife of the head of the family.

Moreover, Song Chengyu was trained according to the standards of an heir, but Zhu Xia was not. Old Song treated her like his own granddaughter and spoiled her.

Wen Qianhui opposed Zhu Xia and Song Chengyu's marriage from the very beginning.

Even though she went to the temple to pray to Buddha to protect Song Chengyu, she did not believe in Hong Kong metaphysics.

In her opinion, even if Song Chengyu's other half is not a daughter of a rich family, she will be a lady from a prominent family.

Zhu Xia can be the granddaughter of the Song family, but she can never be Song Chengyu’s fiancée.

Wen Qianhui would occasionally introduce girls to Song Chengyu under the pretext of business.

Zhu Xia knew, but didn't care.

She turned a blind eye to the behavior that displeased her.

As long as it doesn't affect her normal life, Zhu Xia can close both eyes.

No words are spoken when eating, and no words are spoken when sleeping.

During dinner, only Song Chengyu and Mr. Song mentioned business matters.

Zhu Xia ate quietly. She hadn’t eaten much today and was really hungry now.

The chef prepared authentic Beijing cuisine tonight and she ate her fill without realizing it.

The temperature dropped a little quickly this autumn. After nightfall, the air was filled with a chilly chill.

Zhu Xia was sitting on the swing in the pavilion in the back garden, looking at her phone.

"Miss, I've cut some fruit, including your favorite melon." Aunt Zhao brought over a plate of fruit and placed it on the table in the middle of the pavilion.

"Thank you, Aunt Zhao." Zhu Xia ate a piece of honeydew melon, which was sweet and crisp. She opened her eyes slightly and gave a thumbs up.

Miss Xia Xia is very satisfied and can even taste the same joy as delicacies from land and sea when eating fruits.

"By the way, Aunt Zhao, Mid-Autumn Festival is coming. Let's go out and buy mooncakes tomorrow. I want to send them to my friend in England so that he can feel homesick." Zhu Xia said.

Aunt Zhao looked at her and felt an indescribable sense of relief in her heart.

Zhu Xia finished three pieces of honeydew melon and raised his head sleepily without hearing what Aunt Zhao said.

"what happened?"

"You look much happier this time you come back." Aunt Zhao said with a smile.

Zhu Xia raised his hand and touched his face, "Is there?"

"Yes." And it's obvious.

The phone rang and Zhu Xia took out his cell phone, seemingly considering whether to answer it.

Aunt Zhao smiled and said, "We have a lot of mooncakes at home. If you don't like them, let's go to the restaurant and buy some tomorrow."

Zhu Xia agreed and said good.

Aunt Zhao left and walked across the corridor into the living room.

The courtyard was silent. Zhu Xia stared at the hung up phone, thought for a moment, and called back.

"He Lianzhou?"
