Beijing-Hong Kong Confession

Chapter 6 Goodnight, Moon

The moon cast a watery glow through the clouds.

It was almost eleven o'clock when Zhu Xia returned to Yangriju and dragged his sleepy body to take a shower.

After washing up, she regained some energy.

Zhu Xia walked out of the bathroom with her wet hair wrapped in a dry towel. She tied the belt of her nightgown loosely with her fingers. She sat at the dressing table and clicked on the messages that kept popping up on her phone.

WhatsApp, Lin Jiayue sent a voice message.

She first shouted in Vincent's hoarse voice: "Saturday is Friday plus!"

Then he said, "Sumer, I have thought about it carefully several times. In the worst case scenario, not only did he not do it, but he was reluctant to say harsh words to hurt you. He Lianzhou must still have feelings for you!"

Zhu Xia: "He didn't say anything harsh. It's obvious that he is an extremely well-educated gentleman."

Zhu Xia: "But I prefer men who are too high up to speak."

Lin Jiayue: “???”

Lin Jiayue: "He is so rich, how could he not even be able to pay for the medical expenses? He must be asking for your contact information under the pretext of paying for the medical expenses!"

Zhu Xia: "Merchants never suffer losses. His money didn't come from the wind, so it's reasonable for him to compensate. It would be strange if he didn't want to."

Lin Jiayue: "That makes sense, but..."

Lin Jiayue: "I don't believe it!"

Zhu Xia: "Whether you believe it or not, the fact is there, it is real and true."

Zhu Xia: "Go to bed early, good night, moon."

The moon doesn’t sleep, I wish summer sleeps.

If we talk about it in detail, we can talk about a lot. She likes to deal with situations as they arise, not to plan ahead.

Zhu Xia casually placed his cell phone on the corner of the table, used a hair dryer to dry his hair, turned off the lights and went to bed.

The next day, the sky turned pale and the alarm clock rang.

Zhu Xia woke up with her eyes open, hugging the soft quilt in her arms, staring at the misty blue curtains with dilated pupils.

After being stunned for three minutes, she pulled the quilt over her head and stayed in bed lazily.

The light green bedding was arched into a small hill shape.

The room was quiet for twelve minutes, then the rustling sound started again and she got up to wash.

Enjoy a simple breakfast set at a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant and set off for Hong Kong Yan Hospital.

After changing into a white coat, Zhu Xia led the interns to do rounds.

Dr. Zhu in the hospital was serious most of the time, with a stern look on her face. The interns were a little scared of her and didn't dare to talk to her, so they just followed her silently.

The girl suffering from viral myocarditis was in good condition. As soon as Zhu Xia entered the ward, the girl's eyes were glued to her, and her smile was brilliant.

The girl's parents were standing by the bed. When they saw Zhu Xia come in, they immediately stood up and watched her examine her nervously.

Zhu Xia said that all data showed that the little girl's heart looked good, the hardening and swelling had disappeared, and her blood pressure was also stable, so she could be taken home tomorrow.

The little girl's parents cried with joy and thanked them hurriedly.

Zhu Xia smiled softly, and said, "You should also pay more attention to rest."

Coming out of the ward, the three interns were all stunned.

"I hope the doctor can be as warm as the spring sun when facing the patients and their families." The tall and sunny Zhao Ye whispered to his companions.

Hu Qianxin brushed her ear-length hair with her fingers and whispered, "Thanks to Dr. Zhu who stayed by the patient's side and constantly encouraged her to cough and take deep breaths and not to be afraid of the pain, the anticoagulant was discontinued and the bleeding caused by the superficial gastric erosion stopped."

Li Jiayi looked at the thin figure walking in front of him and exclaimed: "What a professional Dr. Zhu! What a friendly Dr. Zhu! What a dedicated Dr. Zhu!"

Zhao Ye and Hu Qianxin laughed at him: "Who said a few days ago that Doctor Zhu was a fairy snow lotus on the top of a high mountain, cold inside and cold outside?"

Li Jiayi flatly denied: "That must not be me!"

Zhu Xia has not been working at Hong Kong Yan Hospital for a long time, but she has strong adaptability and learning abilities, and she has memorized the procedures of each department.

After finishing the morning rounds, the three interns learned from doctors in other departments, while she returned to the office to write detailed case reports based on the conditions of each patient.

There were no outpatient clinics in the morning, and everything was pretty quiet before 11 o'clock.

Zhu Xia was concentrating on studying the surgical plan. When the hour hand and minute hand passed 11:06, head nurse She Yi came to her.

"Doctor Zhu, the patient in Ward 7 suddenly has convulsions in his hands and feet, and Doctor Su is examining him!"

The patient in Ward 7 is Dr. Su Weiwen's patient. She couldn't leave temporarily, so She Yi came to find Zhu Xia.

Zhu Xia rushed to the ward, examined the patient carefully, worked hard for a while, and explained the relevant matters to the nurse. After the patient's condition stabilized, he went to find Su Weiwen to explain the situation.

When she arrived, Su Weiwen was still in the outpatient clinic, and in front of her was a gentle man holding the little girl carefully.

This bespectacled, gentlemanly man is none other than Jiang Anyu.

Farah blinked her big round eyes and looked accurately towards Zhu Xia who was standing at the door.

The exquisite and lovely little girl always makes people happy. Zhu Xia couldn't help but smile and didn't even notice when the person behind her approached.

As if she had noticed something, she turned around suddenly.

He Lianzhou was standing silently behind her. He was tall and thin, looking down at her, so close to her that it seemed as if he was imprisoning her.

He Lianzhou raised his eyelids calmly and met her eyes.

The man's eyes stayed on her face for a few seconds, just long enough for Zhu Xia to suspect that there was something dirty on her face.

She rubbed her nose with her index finger and spoke to break the eerie atmosphere:

"You come to see Farah. Doctor Su is seeing the patient now."

Her tone was distant yet kind. It was the accent she usually used when communicating with patients' families. It was as pure and pleasant as a spring stream bubbling in a mountain stream.

He Lianzhou said "hmm" without any emotion.

Zhu Xia was about to say goodbye to him when his eyes swept across his right hand and suddenly froze.

The red and swollen back of the hand turned into a bruise, which became more conspicuous against the cold white skin tone.

She frowned: "Why didn't you treat the injury?"

He Lianzhou raised the corner of his lip almost imperceptibly.

"We're already at the hospital, let's go and deal with it." Zhu Xia put his hands in his pockets and spoke in a casual tone.

She felt that what she said was not out of line and was about to leave, but she heard a cough, not too light or too heavy.

When she looked over, she saw the solemn and noble man with his right fist against his lips, with the injury on the back of his hand fully exposed to her sight.

More swollen than expected.

Zhu Xia frowned, thought for a moment, and asked him to go into the empty ward next door to show him the situation.

Two people, one sitting and one standing.

Zhu Xia lowered her eyes and looked at He Lianzhou's hand. The closer she got, the worse the injury looked.

She picked up the gloves and was about to put them on, when she heard his cold voice: "What do you think of wearing gloves to touch someone who is allergic to rubber?"

Zhu Xia was stunned and looked at him sideways: "Are you allergic to rubber?"

"Excuse me, Doctor Zhu."

The man's expression was calm, but he gave people the feeling that he was unhappy.

If Jiang Anyu was present, he would be shocked.

Friend, there is something wrong with him!

Zhu Xia had no choice but to give up the gloves, disinfect his own hands, and then help him treat his wounds.

"It may be a little painful, just bear with it."

He Lianzhou's palms were facing down, letting her touch him, his calm eyes reflecting her appearance. The girl's smooth black hair was braided into a pigtail, with a purple printed ribbon wrapped around her hair, which was passed from the back of her head to her chest. At first glance, the whole person looked like a spotless Ru porcelain with clear glaze.

"The bones are not broken..."

Zhu Xia's eyelashes drooped, covering her bright and clear eyes. She pinched his wrist and palm with just the right strength, moving them bit by bit. When she touched something, her movements suddenly froze.

The raised mark on the palm feels like a scar.

Zhu Xia raised her eyes upwards and met his gaze which was as dark and deep as an ancient well.

Realizing that she was too close to him, she loosened her hand and tried to move away, but the man took the initiative and grabbed her wrist.

As if to let her feel the mark clearly, he applied a little force. Their skin touched, and his scorching body temperature hit her hand, burning it.

Zhu Xia's heart trembled.

She subconsciously tried to pull her hands free from his grip, but he held them extremely tightly, with a determination that would never let go.
