【Law of the Abyss】

Chapter 4: First Trial (2)

Feng Yixing had a long knife in his hand, which hung naturally at one side. Blood was dripping from the tip of the knife, and a cat's head was lying on the ground.

Mu Bei took a look and immediately turned his face away. He had never even seen a chicken being killed, so this was a bit scary for him. He covered his nose and wanted to vomit. He really couldn't bear it anymore, so he squatted in the bushes next to him and vomited for several minutes.

"Hey, why are you so timid? The cat-fly is already a relatively low-level beast. If you encounter a stronger one, you will faint."

"Let me take it easy." Mu Bei supported his hands on his knees, half squatting and half standing.

Feng Yixing ignored him and released a ball of fire from his palm, refining the cat-falcon's corpse and obtaining a D-level exotic beast core, which was black and glowed with a faint luster.

"I'll take the beast core, but the skeleton is great. It's yours."

After saying that, Feng and his party put the beast core into the space ring.

Mu Bei was still staring blankly. The scene in front of him was a bit disjointed and a bit familiar. Oh my god, isn't this the same as in the male-oriented novels where you kill strange beasts to get treasures? But he was neither a time traveler nor a cultivator since childhood. He was completely blind.

"Do you have any extra space rings? Lend me one and I'll return it to you later." Mu Bei was holding the skeleton of the cat-fly in his hand, worried about where to put it.

"You are so poor. What do you want to pay back? Take it all." Feng Yixing threw a bag to Mu Bei.

He opened it and saw, oh my god, what a rich man, there were rings of all kinds in it. He picked out a blue one and put it in his palm, then sealed the rest of the things in the pocket and returned them intact.

"It's one piece as promised. I'll return it to you later. Thank you!"

"Pretending to be noble!" Feng Yixing said sarcastically.

Mu Bei pretended not to hear. He stuffed the bag back into the other person's hand and fiddled with the blue ring on his hand. After studying it for a long time, he still couldn't figure out how to open it.

"That...I don't know how to use it."

"Stupid!" Feng Yixing said with disdain, but actually demonstrated it step by step.

Mu Bei finally put the cat-falcon skeleton into the space ring, and he sincerely expressed his gratitude to Feng and his party.

The two continued walking forward. After a while, they heard a bang in the distance and a blue flare rose in the sky to the west of them. The flare bloomed in the sky, forming a big word "wind" that lingered for a long time.

Feng and his group were running wildly in front, and Mu Bei was running out of breath and trying to catch up with them.

When they arrived, they found three or four skeletons of night-listening beasts lying on the ground. Feng Yelan was collecting the cores of the night-listening beasts. Feng Yixing breathed a sigh of relief.

"Not bad!"

Feng Yelan looked proud and said, "It's OK, but one ran away."

Feng Yixing froze: "One escaped?"

Feng Yelan glanced at him and said, "Don't worry, I've marked it. It will definitely go back to its nest. Then we'll follow it and catch it all in one fell swoop. How are you guys doing?"

"I received a cat-falcon."

"Cat-falcon? Weird, how could it appear here? Did it escape from the God of Wind? I'll ask when I get back."

Mu Bei looked at the pile of Night Listening Beast skeletons on the ground and asked, "I don't want this. Can I take it away?"

Feng Yelan glanced at him and said, "Whatever."

Qin Changqing was a little curious: "Except for the animal core, the skeletons of most exotic animals are of little value. Why do you collect this?"

Mu Bei smiled: "I hate waste the most."

Qin Changqing was stunned. He didn't expect Mu Bei to say that.

Feng Yelan felt uncomfortable and couldn't help complaining: "Can you be more promising? Do you really think junk is treasure? Do you want to open a scrap yard in Linji? This is not your place."

Mu Bei's eyes lit up. Yes, why didn't he think of that? It would be nice to open a scrapyard here, specializing in recycling the skeletons of exotic animals. As for what the skeletons of exotic animals can be used for, he would have to go back and study it carefully.

Seeing that he looked so happy and didn't take her words to heart at all, Feng Yelan felt uncomfortable again and wanted to say a few words to mock him, but she didn't expect that he actually thanked her and asked for advice humbly.

"What qualifications do you need to open a exotic animal skeleton recycling station here? Has anyone opened one before?" Mu Bei asked.

“Who would open a store like this? The skeletons of exotic beasts are bulky and useless. No one would want them even if they were given away.” Feng Yelan poured cold water on him.

"Oh my God, then I would be the first person to try something new. I'm going to be rich. Do you want to invest some money? We'll split it 40% and 60%, I'll take 40% and you take 60%. How about that?" Mu Bei looked at her seriously.

Feng Yelan felt uncomfortable being looked at like that, and said vaguely: "Don't think about those nonsense."

Feng Yixing interrupted the two of them, "Mubei, don't even think about it. Ye Lan won't agree. Let's go out from here and go our separate ways. No one should interfere with anyone else."

Mu Bei was not affected at all, he had already thought about opening a shop and becoming a rich man. Although Linji was different from the world he lived in, he thought that since he could not leave here for a while and needed to survive here, he had to have his own career.

As for Lin Feng's suggestion to expel the swallowing evil, he knew that he definitely did not have the ability to do so at the moment, and he didn't know about the future.

"Listen——" Feng Yelan stopped.

Everyone concentrated and held their breath, and the surroundings became quiet in an instant. Mu Bei clearly heard a rustling sound, approaching from far away, getting closer and louder.

"It's the Seven-Colored Glazed Python!" Feng Yixing's expression suddenly changed, "Get out of the way."

Mu Bei stepped back repeatedly, only to see a huge snake head sticking out from the tree trunk. The snake head was as big as two footballs.

Feng Yelan took a breath and said, "Oh no, this seven-colored glazed python is a C-level exotic beast."

At the critical point, the exotic beasts are divided into levels, from low to high in the order of D to A. Logically, the Seven-Colored Glazed Python and the Night-Listening Beast are both D-level exotic beasts, but the Seven-Colored Glazed Python in front of him has obviously reached C-level.

There are strict boundaries between each level of exotic beasts, and the level is mainly determined by the color of their pupils. From D to A level, the colors of the exotic beasts' pupils are gray, blue, green, and black.

The colorful glazed python in front of me had a scarlet tongue and blue eyes like frozen lakes. Staring at it made me break out in a cold sweat.

At this moment, Mu Bei was being targeted by it, and he felt scared. This python was really good at picking on its victims, and it only picked on him.

"Don't move!" Qin Changqing whispered beside him, "The python's eyesight is very poor. It relies on the temperature and movement of its prey to hunt."

As soon as he finished speaking, Mu Bei saw a python with its bloody mouth wide open running towards him. Without thinking, he ran away. Did he say his eyesight was bad? How did he find him so quickly?

Feng Yelan swung out a nine-section whip, which landed on the python and hooked off a piece of its colorful scales.

The colorful glazed python was angry. It twisted its body and turned towards Feng Yelan. The blue in its eyes became even brighter and it looked like it was about to boil.

Feng Yelan snorted coldly, "Nothing more than that."

She stood on tiptoe and jumped lightly over the python's body. The whip in her hand struck the python without any hesitation, like spring rain. The colorful glazed python's scales stood up instantly, and its body seemed to be wearing a hard armor. The whip was hit on it and bounced back. Feng Yelan could not get any advantage for a while, but it did not want to fight and went straight to Mu Bei.

"Damn!" Mu Bei couldn't help but swear. This python actually picked a fight with him.

Its nimble body bypassed Feng Yelan and approached him with its huge head. It was about to bite him. He could even feel the sticky and cold touch of the snake's tongue.

His scalp tingled. When he saw the vine hanging in front of him, he grabbed it without thinking and ran forward desperately. Halfway through, he kicked his feet, curled up his legs, and swung out like a swing.

Good news, he escaped from the python's mouth and is safe for now.

Bad news, he's stuck in a tree and can't move.

Feng Yelan was a little surprised. He didn't expect that this kid could use vines to throw him out.

She nodded to Feng Yixing and said, "Let's get started."

Feng Yixing drew out his long swords, and the two of them stood on both sides of the colorful glazed python, one on the left and one on the right, and attacked quickly.

Mu Bei was stunned watching on the tree, he knew he was weak but he didn't expect that in front of those two people, he wouldn't even be qualified to be defeated in seconds. He decided not to join in the fun so as not to drag others down, he struggled to get up, trying to free his butt from the tree branch.

But the more he moved, the deeper his butt sank. Qin Changqing watched him from under the tree, trying to move forward but to no avail. The scene was so funny that he could not help laughing out loud.

"Don't move, I'll come up and help you."

"No, I can do it." Mu Bei refused. He just didn't believe that a few branches could stump him.

As soon as he finished speaking, he heard a snapping sound, the branch broke, and Mu Bei's whole body fell down. It was over. Falling from such a high tree, he would definitely break his bones, and maybe even injure his spine, and then he would be paralyzed. How could he be so miserable!

Unexpectedly, a whip stretched out from the sky and wrapped around his waist. He felt his body tighten, and the speed of falling slowed down. The whip rolled him in the air for a few rounds, and then swung backwards. When the whip loosened, he fell straight down. Qin Changqing hurried forward, supported him, and finally landed safely.

"That was a close call! Thank you!" Mu Bei thanked Qin Changqing.

"No need to thank me, thank her if you want to thank someone." Qin Changqing smiled and looked up at Feng Yelan.

Mu Bei followed his gaze and saw Feng Yelan running to deal with the colorful glazed python again. She was as light as a swallow, jumping up and down, and swinging her whip so hard that sparks flew and rustling sounds were dazzling.

Feng Yelan's physical strength was gradually running out. She looked at Feng Yixing and said, "We can't waste time like this any longer. We need to end this quickly."

She took a step back, put some distance between herself and the python's head, then took out a golden ball and threw it into the air. Countless golden threads shot out from the ball and formed a net, completely covering the colorful glazed python.

The net was extremely resilient. Once it touched the python's body, it tightened and tried its best to pull it in. The colorful glazed python was trapped in the net. The more it struggled, the tighter the golden wire became, like countless tiny sharp blades cutting through its scales and embedding into its body. Red blood beads emerged in small and dense patterns. Soon, it was covered in scars and looked horrible. The colorful glazed python screamed sharply and rolled on the ground in pain.

Feng Yixing stepped forward with a knife and slashed at it, hitting it right in the vital spot. It screamed, but soon lost its strength and stopped moving.

"It's been too long since I last had a trial. A seven-colored glazed python is already very tired."

Feng Yelan said as she collected the net. The golden thread retracted and turned into a golden ball again. She weighed the ball and put it in her pocket. "Fortunately, I brought the Ten Thousand Gold Thousand Silk Net."

"Yes, my cousin is really good. She is getting better and better at using the whip."

Feng Yixing is a die-hard fan of Feng Yelan, he thinks she is the best no matter what.

As the two men were talking, they had their backs to the corpse of the Seven-Colored Glazed Python and did not notice that the python lying on the ground had quietly opened one eye and was about to launch a sneak attack when the two were not prepared, but Mu Bei saw through it at a glance and shouted.

"Get out of the way, it's not dead yet!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the seven-colored glazed python stood up and pounced towards the two of them.

Feng Yelan dodged to the side, waved his hand, and swung the long whip straight at the python's head. The colorful glazed python did not dodge and rushed forward desperately, opening its bloody mouth, biting the whip and dragging it back. Feng Yelan wanted to take back the whip, but with a "click", the whip was bitten off by it.

"Ye Lan, get out of the way, let me do it." Feng Yixing swung his sword and chopped it directly on the neck of the colorful glazed python, but was bounced back. He turned around and jumped directly on it. The colorful glazed python lifted its tail and swept backwards, almost sweeping Feng Yixing.

He leaped forward, landed on its head, raised his knife and chopped it on the head. The tip of the knife pierced its scalp. It rolled over in pain and tried to throw him off.

Feng Yixing held the hilt of the knife tightly and refused to let go. Seeing this, the beast's body suddenly swelled and it ran away, crashing into a big tree beside it. Feng Yixing's hand shook and he rolled off its head. The beast immediately twisted its body and coiled towards him, trying to surround him and strangle him with its body.

"Cousin, hurry up! Catch it."

Feng Yelan hung on the tree with one hand and took out a long rope from his pocket with the other hand and threw it to him.

Feng Yixing held onto the rope tightly and jumped upwards, trying to jump out of its encirclement. Sensing his intention, the Seven-Colored Glazed Python quickly coiled its body, stacking it up layer by layer, and used its body to erect a solid cylindrical wall. Seeing that Feng Yixing was about to get out, the Seven-Colored Glazed Python raised its head and charged towards him, blocking his way.

Mu Bei was horrified by what he saw. This seven-colored glazed python was so powerful that he was really worried about Feng Yixing.

Feng Yixing gritted his teeth, cut the rope immediately, loosened it, jumped directly on its head, and reached out for the knife handle. He gripped the handle and pulled out the long knife with force. The colorful glazed python twisted wildly. Feng Yixing steadied his body, raised the knife and stabbed it into its eyes. It screamed, and its body suddenly lost strength and fell to the ground.

"Quick, cut it off at seven inches." Mu Bei yelled beside him.

Feng Yixing raised his knife and stabbed it hard into its vital point, going straight through its chest. He stabbed it again, and this time it was completely dead.
