Harry Potter: Reunion with the Enemy
Chapter 151 This Morning
Harry opened his eyes and knew that he had woken up early again.
Probably the same time as when he woke up in his apartment the day before, but this time at Malfoy Manor.
Because he was not wearing glasses, his vision was blurry, as if someone had kicked him out of his dream, but the content of the dream had been forgotten by his brain in this brief moment. The sky through the gap in the curtains was still dark, and Harry closed his eyes and tried to go back to sleep, but his brain was like a sunflower sprinkled with sunlight, and all his senses were sensitive and ready to go.
The next second, the scent of the room's owner invaded all his senses, the temperature, the smell, the touch - they enveloped Harry. Harry gently moved away the wrinkles of clothing he felt on his cheek, someone's pants - Harry was resting his head in Draco's arms.
Probably not having a nightmare, Harry slightly adjusted the angle, facing Draco's sleeping face, he simply buried the tip of his nose in the curve of Draco's shoulder blade. The temperature at the moment was just right, without cold sweat and chaotic heart rate after being awakened.
Voldemort has been in Harry's mind for many years, and the scar that hurts from time to time has left Harry with the habit of being easily distracted. But attention deficit is not always a bad thing for Aurors. For example, sensitive and scattered senses can identify dangers in the environment earlier.
Harry, who was not wearing glasses, had to get very close to see Draco's face. Draco's expression was stretched and relaxed. It was hard to imagine someone being as calm as a baby and breathing so violently at times.
The image of Draco sticking out his tongue while wearing a muzzle last night reappeared in front of him. Harry laughed softly. The man in front of him was now slightly pursing his lips into a curve - he might be having a sweet dream, Harry thought.
Sticking out tongue... looks so silly... Harry opened his mouth unconsciously, he moved close to Draco's still dry lips, and stroked the fine lines on his lips with the tip of his tongue.
Yesterday, Draco was gentle, restrained and cautious, and surprisingly did not bite anyone. He took every detail into consideration as if he was demonstrating some kind of tutorial for novices.
The two of them had long ago discovered that they both enjoyed going through this process face to face, taking in each other's every expression and emotion while looking at each other.
Every time they look into each other's eyes, it is a continuation of the countless times they have looked into each other's eyes over the past decade.
Every expression and every mood of the other person since the first grade - the face with baby fat, the face that has lost its childishness, the face that has gradually become angular, the face with scars, the temperament and eyes that have changed after growth and experience... overlap with the scene in front of me.
"I can't recall it," Harry said suddenly mid-sentence, staring at a bead of sweat running down Draco's jawline.
"I don't know what's going on in your head—" Draco rubbed Harry's teeth with his thumb. "But I might be interested in listening. You'd better not say anything that will make me sad."
"I don't dare to think about what you were thinking when you looked me in the eye all those years." Harry said with his mouth wide open, "Were you thinking about what you are thinking about now?"
"What else?" Draco's breathing was a little turbid, "Especially in senior year -"
Harry's hands were pinned to his side, unable to move.
"At most - I think that apart from the facts, you look - not bad. But apart from the facts, so -" Harry said intermittently.
"So, looking into each other's eyes is an action that only two people can complete. You were looking at me then, just like you are looking at me now." Draco fell as if he had been successfully provoked. "It doesn't matter whether you have put aside the facts or not - just like it doesn't matter why you are looking at me with such an expression now - do you want to look at yourself in the mirror -"
"I can see it—myself," Harry said, catching his breath. "In your eyes—"
"I can only say that reality is better than imagination." Draco leaned close to Harry's ear, "Sometimes I regret why I didn't confess earlier and try to get closer to you. But I think after observing you from a distance for such a long time, it makes me want to have you even more."
"Have you ever thought that if you had confessed earlier I wouldn't have refused?" Harry said.
"Loving you before I'm mature enough may not have a good result." A smile appeared on Draco's lips. "No matter what, I still want to believe that now is the best arrangement."
Draco still had his eyes closed, his tall nose casting a small shadow on his cheek - after Harry's thoughts wandered a little further, the man in front of him didn't move.
Harry was a little anxious to find that he had a new problem that needed urgent relief. Hoping that Draco didn't notice, Harry quietly moved his hand down. He was careful not to disturb the breathing and sleep of the people around him.
Until his hand was caught by another hand that suddenly reached out.
"You like to—" Draco hesitated sleepily, as if searching for the right words, "sneak around—use me as a figurine or something? Or do you prefer me asleep to my awake face?"
Draco pushed Harry's hand away, his grey eyes gleaming in the dim room, questioning the saviour who had been caught. In fact, he didn't know when he became sober, Draco just secretly wished that he didn't miss too much - such as the tip of the tongue that stretched out to him.
Harry didn't answer. In the morning light that hadn't yet illuminated the whole world, they only had each other.
"You make me feel like I'm a failed boyfriend..." Draco buried half of his face in Harry's shoulder. "You always run away when I'm sleeping, run to some dungeon under the sea and set it on fire, or get caught, and become a sleeping beauty in a werewolf's den. And now..."
Harry bit his lip, as if he would become a puppet at the mercy of others in the next second. He gradually lost control of his body, and emotions and feelings of exhaustion flooded into his mind.
"Next time you disappear, take me with you, okay?" Draco closed his eyes, as if to tie Harry to himself. "We only have a few moments to ourselves before dawn, and I think this is a good time for you to make a promise."
"Okay." Harry felt the warmth in his body flowing to his palms. He couldn't help but fall into a daze again. But unlike many answers that he would forget as soon as he turned around, he would keep this promise in his heart. "I promise - we will never separate if we can walk together in the future."
"Keep your word, savior." Draco said, breathing warmly as if to capture the fragrance of a piece of cake and the length of a night. "This is the biggest surprise you can give me."
