Traveling through the Tang Dynasty: The Concubine Goes to War

Yunxi was walking slowly back on the road with the breakfast she had just received in her hand. At this moment, her eyes were suddenly attracted by a palace maid. The palace maid was holding a food basket in her hand, and her movements seemed a little sneaky, and she was walking towards a secluded place.

"Take her away and lock her up in the utility room for now." She turned and gave the order to the eunuchs.

After Yunxi stepped out of Xiuzhen Palace where Ye Ling'er lived, he went to Jingxiu Palace where Lian'er lived with a lot of doubts in his mind.

Along the way, she felt mixed emotions, constantly imagining various reasons of Lian'er.

After passing through the palace corridors, they finally arrived at Lian'er's bedroom, Jingxiu Palace, which was the most familiar place for Yunxi. It carried countless memories for her.

She walked straight in. Because she had come to Jingxiu Palace from time to time before, the eunuchs and palace maids who were busy in the courtyard knew Yunxi and greeted her, "Mrs. Yang, you are here!"

When Lian'er's personal maid saw Yunxi, she was startled and quickly turned around and ran into the house to pass on the message.

When Yunxi slowly stepped into the bedroom, she saw Lian'er sitting upright on a cushion. Her eyes fell on Yunxi and she smiled softly, "Miss, I wonder what brought you to Jingxiu Palace today?"

However, Yunxi did not respond to her smile. Her eyes became sharp and cold, staring at Lian'er closely. Then, she turned to Lian'er's personal maid and ordered, "You go down first. I have something to say to your master alone."

The maid looked at Lian'er hesitantly, but did not move. Lian'er raised her hand slightly and waved, signaling the maid to leave.

After the maid left the room, Yunxi approached Lian'er and asked in a low voice, "Lian'er, why did you poison Ye Ling'er and the fetus in her belly?"

Facing Yunxi's questioning, Lian'er's expression was unusually calm. She replied calmly, "No reason. I just simply couldn't stand her arrogant and domineering attitude in the past."

Yunxi widened her eyes and stared at Lian'er with an expression of disbelief on her face.

"This can't possibly be your real motive, Lian'er! Tell me, what is the reason? Poisoning the royal heir is a serious crime!" Yunxi looked straight at Lian'er, trying to see through her true thoughts deep in her heart.

Lian'er turned her head away, avoiding Yunxi's gaze, "I told you, I just don't like her." "We have been sisters for many years, I know you well, you would never poison someone for such a ridiculous reason!" Yunxi grabbed Lian'er's shoulders with both hands and shook her hard. Lian'er's eyes flashed with pain, but she quickly regained her composure, "Believe it or not." After saying that, she stood up and walked into the inner room.

Yunxi stood there in a daze, looking at Lian'er's back, her heart filled with confusion and disappointment. She decided to find Ye Ling'er again and tell her about her conversation with Lian'er.

Yunxi came to Xiuzhen Palace and told Ye Ling'er about her conversation with Lian'er. After listening, Ye Ling'er was silent for a long time.

"I believe Lian'er would not do such a thing for no reason." Yunxi said thoughtfully.

Ye Ling'er nodded. She also felt that things were not that simple. "We must find out the truth behind this." Ye Ling'er said firmly.
