Chapter 54: Qi Refining Test
On the morning of the second day, two people from the Detective Bureau walked into the clinic. The younger one looked around and looked directly at Fang Muye and asked loudly, "Are you Cui Daoning?"
Fang Muye had guessed why the detectives came. He smiled and pretended to be ignorant and asked, "I am Cui Daoning. I wonder what the two officers want to see me for?"
"Someone found your brother Cui Daorong's body in the lake this morning. Please come with us to the detective station." The young detective said coldly.
Fang Muye immediately pretended to be unbelievable, his face turned pale, and he murmured: "Ah, Dao Rong, how could Dao Rong die?"
Yuzhen behind him also screamed in shock. Seeing Fang Muye's grief-stricken and distraught expression, she hurriedly stepped forward to hold his arm and called out in a gentle voice, "Daoning."
Another older detective said kindly, "Doctor Cui, please accept my condolences. Your brother was drunk and accidentally fell into the lake and drowned. Please come with us to the detective station to go through the formalities and claim the body."
No one knows how many people drown in the lake in the city every year. The people from the Detective Agency only did a simple investigation and determined that Cui Daorong was dead.
"Okay." Fang Muye replied dejectedly.
Yuzhen said softly, "Daoning, I'll go with you."
"No need, I'll just go by myself."
After saying this, Fang Muye left the clinic with the two detectives.
In the detective office, the detective asked Fang Muye some questions as usual, asked him to sign some documents, and paid a business fee, and then took him to collect Cui Daorong's body.
Not long after, the people living around Daoning Clinic heard that Dr. Cui, a skilled doctor, was so heartbroken because his brother had drowned due to drunkenness that after taking care of his brother's funeral, he not only temporarily closed the clinic, but also locked himself up in his brother's house.
A few days later, when someone saw him finally coming out of the house, he looked so emaciated that he looked unrecognizable.
So the people all praised Dr. Cui as a kind and caring brother.
Of course, this is all later story. Now Fang Muye has just "locked himself up" in Cui Daorong's house.
The reason why he did this was, firstly, to pretend, and secondly, he had been reading Taoist books recently and had gained some insights and directions in Qi training, so he wanted to practice in seclusion.
In this world, there are two levels of Qi training: the small Zhoutian and the big Zhoutian. The small Zhoutian is the Qi flowing through the Ren and Du meridians, while the big Zhoutian is the Qi flowing through the eight extraordinary meridians. Because the scope is larger than the small Zhoutian, it is called the big Zhoutian.
The two correspond to the Taoist practice of refining essence into qi and refining qi into spirit respectively.
At the end of the movie, Peng Qianwu and Boss Cha were able to fight in another world with their spiritual thoughts because they were both in the Great Zhoutian realm and had already refined their Qi into spirits.
The eight extraordinary meridians are the Du meridian, Ren meridian, Chong meridian, Dai meridian, Yangwei meridian, Yinwei meridian, Yinqiao meridian and Yangqiao meridian. They are not directly related to the internal organs, nor do they have any exterior-interior coordination relationship. They follow different paths and run unusually, so they are called "extraordinary meridians."
Taoists attach the most importance to the Eight Extraordinary Meridians, because they believe that the eight meridians are in charge of the path of Yang energy, and are responsible for the Taoist "essence, energy, and spirit". If the eight meridians are unobstructed, one can reach the state of "essence is full and one does not think about lust, energy is full and one does not think about food, and spirit is full and one does not think about sleep".
Li Shizhen also said in his "Study of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians": "Ordinary people have these eight meridians, all of which are closed by the Yin spirit and cannot be opened. Only immortals can open them with Yang energy, so they can attain the Tao. The eight meridians are the roots of the innate and the ancestors of the one Qi."
Among the eight meridians, the Ren and Du meridians are the most important, and they play a huge role in the entire process of cultivating both sex and life. As the ancient saying goes: The Ren and Du meridians are the Zi and Wu of the human body, they are the way for the rise and fall of the Yang Fire and Yin Fu of the alchemists, and the place where Kan Water and Li Fire mate.
Therefore, the initial step of Qigong practice is to circulate the small circulation of Qi through the Ren and Du meridians. Once the small circulation is well practiced, that is, the Ren and Du meridians are well practiced, then you can circulate the complete eight extraordinary meridians.
Corresponding to the eight extraordinary meridians are the twelve main meridians.
According to traditional Chinese medicine, the twelve meridians are the channels through which the qi and blood of the human body circulate. The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine Lingshu Benzang states: "The meridians are used to circulate qi and blood, regulate yin and yang, moisten the tendons and bones, and benefit the joints."
Having said that, it is actually clear that the eight extraordinary meridians are actually qi meridians, and the twelve main meridians are actually blood meridians.
Fang Muye's current condition is that the blood and qi in the twelve main meridians are very vigorous, but among the eight extraordinary meridians, strictly speaking, the true qi in the Ren and Du meridians is very weak.
His understanding and direction of Qi training this time is how to transform blood and Qi into true Qi.
How to convert?
Both the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine and the Taoist alchemy classics expound a view that when the internal Qi in the twelve main meridians is abundant, it may overflow and disperse into the routes of the eight extraordinary meridians. And when the body needs it, the eight extraordinary meridians can also reversely infiltrate the internal Qi supply.
Just like when the ditch is full of water, it will flow into the lake, and when the ditch is low in water, the water in the lake will flow back.
Although the eight extraordinary meridians cannot be seen physically, they run intricately among the twelve main meridians and intersect with the main meridians in many places in the human body.
Houxi is at the inner canthus and neck of the Du meridian, and Lieque is at the lung system.
It means that the Ren and Du meridians run through the human body and intersect at the acupuncture points of the meridians.
Fang Muye didn't know why his blood and energy did not flow into his Ren and Du meridians. Perhaps it was because his blood and energy were not sufficient, or perhaps there was some other mystery.
What he had to do now was to try to take the lead and send the vigorous blood and energy in the meridians through these intersection points into the Ren and Du meridians, and refine them into true qi.
Fang Muye first practiced boxing several times in the yard. When his energy and blood were boiling, he sat cross-legged in a qigong posture, focusing his mind on his energy and blood, and controlling it with his mind.
The Qi and blood in his meridians suddenly made a sound like a rushing river, steaming up thick blood.
Fang Muye had no previous method to rely on, and did not dare to rashly mobilize the blood and energy in his body. He first guided a strand of it along the hand Taiyin lung meridian to Lieque, intending to enter the Ren meridian, but there seemed to be an invisible barrier blocking it, and he could not enter.
Fang Muye's heart moved, and he controlled the blood and energy to hit hard. The blood and energy were immediately dispersed, and the flesh also felt the slight bulge in the Lieque point.
After failing to knock on the gate, Fang Muye guessed in his heart: "Maybe the blood is too weak?"
So he increased his blood energy a little, guided it all the way down, and crashed into the barrier again, but it was still broken apart.
Fang Muye was not discouraged and continued to try.
Increase blood and energy, hit the barrier, disperse the blood and energy, increase blood and energy...
Fang Muye seemed to be trapped in a cycle.
"boom……"
I don’t know how long it passed, but when the blood and energy increased to a rush, Fang Muye seemed to hear a loud noise in the dark, and then the blood and energy finally broke through the barrier and entered the Ren Mai.
However, before Fang Muye could feel happy, the blood and energy that had just entered the Ren Meridian slowly dissipated.
Fang Muye opened his eyes and couldn't help but frown, although he knew that the blood energy did not really disappear, but seeped into the flesh and blood, nourishing the body.
But why is this happening?
