In the town of Gran on the day that Alan left Savannah.

Rick held Judith and took Carl to find Herschel. He and Sean were going out to be pioneers and they certainly couldn't take the children with them. Entrusting the two children to Herschel was Rick's only choice.

"Rick, are you sure you want to go outside? They can't live without you."

Herschel did not reject Rick. He knew that Rick had just lost his wife and needed some time to adjust his mentality, but he still reminded Rick of the importance of family.

Rick nodded in agreement with Hershel's statement, but he also had a plan in mind.

"I won't be gone for long, and I won't put myself in danger. This is all for Carl and Judith."

Rick looked at Hershel seriously.

Hershel sighed. Rick was just giving himself an excuse to escape. The pain of this guy's wife's death was engraved in his eyes.

"Okay, remember to keep in touch with me. Otherwise I'll have to bring the kids to find you."

Hershel patted Rick on the shoulder and said jokingly.

"Don't worry Hershel, when we come back, I will give you a piece of land so that you can rebuild Green Farm."

Sean appeared behind Rick, put his arm around Rick's shoulders, and said to Hershel in a nonchalant manner.

Herschel saw Rick and Sean off from the house and watched them drive towards the town gate. Just as he was about to squat down to comfort Carl, he heard Sean's loud shouting from a car driving away in the distance.

"By the way, Hershel! Maggie and Glenn are our teammates! Don't worry! We will take care of each other!"

"What?! Fuck?!"

Herschel's old face instantly turned into horror.

Inside the house, Beth walked to the door with the intercom and saw her old father with a depressed expression.

"Dad, Maggie said..."

"I already know that. Sh... Never mind. She's grown up and knows what she wants to do."

Herschel waved his hand and went back into the room to play with Judith in the stroller.

Karl: "..."

It's bad. He has become a burden that no one cares about.

Two hours later, Rick and Sean met Maggie Glenn in Savannah. Maggie wanted to set off first, but Rick and Sean brought equipment and resources from Glenn.

After careful consideration, Maggie decided to wait for the two to arrive. There were not many weapons left in Savannah City, and Gran Town was still the center for the Sky Destiny Army to distribute supplies.

"Rick."

Glenn walked up to Rick and hugged him. He didn't dare to mention Lori and could only comfort Rick with a hug between men.

Sean glanced at Glenn.

"Okay, let's go. If we don't leave now, Alan will almost reach Washington."

Maggie urged impatiently.

Savannah is more than nine hours away from Washington by road, and five hours have passed. If Alan had not stopped in the middle, he would have probably only traveled half the distance.

"I've got the RV you asked for. All the equipment is inside."

Rick hands Glenn the keys to the RV.

At this time on Highway 95, Alan was driving his car slowly, following the military truck driven by Abraham.

Abraham had been to many places before the disaster, and he was familiar with the route to Washington, so Alan just had to follow him.

Alan slowed down the car from time to time and checked the map to make sure Abraham had not done him any harm.

Time quickly came to the afternoon. The scorching heat made Alan sweat all over, and he couldn't help but want to turn on the air conditioner in the car.

There were two barrels of gasoline in Abraham's car, so Alan didn't have to worry about running out of fuel on the road.

Alan finally gave up on turning on the air conditioner. She knew that she would soon face a life without electricity, and the living facilities in the outside world would definitely not be as good as those in the Destiny Fortress. It would be better to adapt to the environment as soon as possible.

Alan opened the car windows and the sunroof, letting all the strong wind outside come in, and immediately took away a lot of heat from his body.

Suddenly, the truck in front of the car slowly stopped. Alan slowed down and stopped the car as well. She was alert for a moment, and then she heard a series of roars in the distance.

Oh, it turns out to be zombies. That’s okay.

Alan relaxed, as long as Abraham and the others didn't want to trick him.

Alan got out of the car holding an M4A1 carbine. Abraham and Rosita had already jumped off the truck and were observing the situation on the road.

"what's the situation?"

Alan walked over with a gun in hand. She was a little taller than Rosita, who was only 169cm tall barefoot.

"The road ahead is blocked. There are too many zombies."

Abraham was holding an M16 and squinting at the zombies on the road. No one knew where these zombies came from. There were probably several hundred of them, and they had just occupied the main part of the road.

Crashing into too many corpses can easily cause vehicle failures, and problems may occur with the tires, suspension, and engine pressure.

If you don't want to be trapped in the horde of zombies, the safest way is for everyone to take another route.

On the highway and in the wilderness beside the road, rotting figures staggered towards the north. No one knew what had happened on this road, but some source of attraction was still affecting the direction of the zombies' advance.

Abraham was observing the swarm of zombies, but he was thinking about changing the route in his mind. They would reach Washington in three hours. If they changed the route, they would have to turn around and waste a whole day.

"Shit, these annoying guys!!!"

Abraham looked at the zombies angrily and had no choice but to compromise.

Just as Abraham returned to the truck and was about to turn around, a dozen agile figures in the group of zombies suddenly turned around and discovered a strange truck behind them.

They have plump bodies and walk quickly and powerfully. When they see the truck, the expressions on their faces become extremely crazy. They even knock down their companions around them and run towards the truck together.

Alan had seen this different type of zombie when he was on a mission in Savannah. They did not have bulletproof skin and abilities beyond ordinary people's cognition. They did not belong to the category of mutated zombies and were officially named "violent zombies" by the Destiny Front.

No one knows how they were born, and Dr. Sarah, who is pregnant and due to give birth, has not studied their origins.

Alan ran back to the car with a rifle in her arms. There was no need for her to fight with the zombies. It would be better to leave this section of the road for now.

The truck turned around and the car continued to follow it.

Abraham informed Alan on the intercom that he suddenly remembered a path. In order to shorten the journey time, they must take a path to bypass the zombies.

However, the small roads were all in the countryside, so the military trucks had to drive much slower.
