Chapter 5 Preparing for submission
Before going to bed, Yi Jie's mind was full of thoughts about what to do the next day. The 20 yuan in her hand didn't allow her to do much. Oh, right, the library!
There is a library in the county town, which provides free air conditioning and allows readers to read books. It is also a good place to cultivate her brother's interest in reading. After thinking of the solution, Yi Jie fell asleep contentedly.
Yi Jie got up early, had breakfast with her brother, and told her aunt that she would take Yi Chen to the library to read and would not go home for lunch. Her aunt told her to come back early in the afternoon and gave Yi Jie 20 yuan for lunch.
The library is not far from my aunt's house, only ten minutes away.
As soon as Yi Chen entered the door, he pulled Yi Jie's sleeve and whispered, "Sister, there are so many books here," because his sister told him on the way that he should keep quiet in the library and not disturb others.
Yi Jie responded to him, "Yes, you may not be able to finish reading all the books here in your lifetime!" Yi Chen didn't know how long a lifetime was, but he still couldn't help but be surprised.
Yi Jie took Yi Chen to the children's reading area and asked Yi Chen to choose a book he wanted to read. Yi Chen looked around but couldn't find one, so he asked his sister to help him choose.
Yi Jie chose a children's version of the first volume of Harry Potter for him. She also took out a notebook and a pen from her messenger bag and told him to write a 100-word review after reading the book. Yi Chen looked downcast when he heard that there was such a requirement.
Yi Jie said, "You did it. I will buy you an ice cream later. You can choose any one, but you can only eat one, and you can't tell your aunt!" Yi Chen accepted the task with a smile. His aunt usually didn't allow him to eat ice cream, saying it was bad for his health.
Yi Jie found a seat in the reading room and let Yi Chen start reading first, while she went outside to find a book to read from the bookshelf.
Next to the youth literature bookshelf, Yi Jie saw a bulletin board that said registration for the My Chinese Dream Writing Campaign had begun.
The writing topic was briefly introduced. The age of the participants was 12-16 years old. The first prize was a cash prize of 2000 yuan and a hardcover edition of four famous classics. The second prize was a cash prize of 1000 yuan and a set of exquisite stationery. The third prize was only a cash prize of 500 yuan.
Each of the articles will be displayed on the Middle School Students’ Reading, which is an extracurricular reading material they always distribute. Yi Jie used to like reading it very much.
You can participate as long as you send the article to the address on the announcement before September 15th, and note your school name and class.
Yi Jie was a little excited. She was reborn and had some advantages. She also had the advantage of age. She should do something different. Although she didn't know if she could win the award, it would not hurt to give it a try. It would also be good to improve her writing ability.
Yi Jie took out a pen and paper to write down the address, then went to the bookshelf and selected a few excellent essays by high school students, as well as a selection of red reading materials, in preparation for doing her homework.
In the reading room, Yi Chen was reading a book attentively. Yi Jie was sitting next to him, but he didn't even turn his head to look at her. As expected, Harry Potter is suitable for all ages.
There are very few people in the reading room, and the quiet atmosphere is especially suitable for reading quietly.
Time passed unknowingly and it was already past twelve o'clock. Yi Jie was writing furiously as she took notes on her reading. Yi Chen came up to Yi Jie and said he was hungry. Yi Jie put their books in the place she had marked and planned to continue reading in the afternoon.
There are many small restaurants next to the library, and Yi Chen wanted to eat wontons. The two of them went into Qianlixiang Wonton Restaurant, which seemed to be available all over the country. A portion was only six yuan.
While waiting, Yi Chen showed Yi Jie his reading notes. His childish words were very cute, especially when Yi Chen wrote at the end: If I were Harry Potter, I would protect my mother, sister, and all the family members who loved me, so that the bad guys couldn't bully them. Although he is young, he knows everything.
The two of them finished their lunch. Yi Jie kept her promise and bought Yi Chen chocolate ice cream and an old-style pudding. She hadn't eaten the old-style pudding in many years and she would feel sorry for her childhood if she didn't buy it.
After eating, she took Yi Chen to the library to continue reading. With the experience of the morning, Yi Chen quickly got into the state. As an older sister, Yi Jie felt proud of his successful guidance.
In one day, Yi Jie wrote down half a notebook, which contained sentences and stories that she thought she could learn from. She felt more confident when she was well prepared.
When I got home, my aunt had almost prepared the meal, so I just washed my hands and started eating. While eating, Yi Chen even talked to his uncle about the plot of Harry Potter, and his uncle was also happy to discuss it with him. Yi Jie and my aunt occasionally chimed in, and the whole meal was a joy.
After finishing the rest of her homework in the evening, Yi Jie did a few more extracurricular exercises. She felt that she had digested the knowledge of the week well, at least the accuracy of the exercises was above 95%. She copied the wrong questions into the prepared wrong question book, but did not write the answers. She planned to do it again in two days.
Thinking about having to go to school the next day, Yi Jie felt a little distressed. She fell asleep slowly after twelve o'clock and woke up around ten o'clock the next day.
Her aunt prepared some food for her, including bread, biscuits, cakes and other food to fill her stomach, as well as a can of pickled radish and a can of shredded papaya. Yi Jie felt that the next two weeks would not be so difficult for her.
My cousin had a lot of unwanted clothes when she went to college, so my aunt asked Yi Jie to pick some to wear. As Yi Jie flipped through her cousin's clothes, she realized that her cousin's aesthetic taste in high school was much better than hers.
Yi Jie packed a few sets of clothes and put her luggage together, so there was nothing left to pack.
Her aunt gave Yi Jie 50 yuan for living expenses and told her not to buy snacks randomly. Then, remembering that she forgot to buy some fruit, she added yuan and asked her to buy some fruit near the school and bring it in.
Yi Jie nodded repeatedly while putting on her shoes, took the money and ran downstairs with the things. Her uncle was still waiting for her in the car downstairs!
