Blue, Red and White Dark Abyss Cauldron

Chapter 18: The Ship is Destroyed and the People Die

The deck was covered with sharp emerald stones, but the Black Mermaid King was completely unaware of them. He stepped on them with his pair of shiny webbed feet, making a creaking sound, as if he was walking on flat ground.

With the help of the firelight, everyone took a closer look and found that the jadeite was either crushed or stepped into the hardwood deck. This strange power was simply unbelievable.

There was a loud crash, a strong wind blew in my face, and a large sail came over my head.

The Snow Countrymen dodged one after another. Some who didn't have time to dodge were caught under the hard cloth sails, and they screamed and struggled, but couldn't get out.

The mermaids cheered loudly, jumped onto the sails and stabbed him to death. The rest of the mermaids also jumped onto the canvas and fought with the Snow Country man.

The Black Sea Mermaid King jumped lightly and leaped twenty or thirty feet away, directly onto Ship No. B. Then he walked to the mast of the ship, easily pulled down the sail and spread it on the deck.

Once the large and thick sail was spread out, it covered most of the hard emerald stones scattered by the Snow Country people.

He flew back and forth among five large ships that were twenty to thirty feet apart, tearing down the sails of the ships and laying them on the decks.

The mermaid moved quickly, raised her fork, made strange noises, and started killing.

Although the people of Snow Country knew that they had no chance of survival, they still fought bravely and no one retreated.

On the decks of several cargo ships, blood splattered everywhere and broken limbs flew everywhere...The shrill screams mixed with the sound of the crashing waves were terrifying.

Bai Yixing was standing in the crowd. Suddenly he saw a huge sail coming towards him and he quickly stepped back.

But he accidentally stepped on a round jade stone, his feet slipped, and he fell on his back on the deck. His back and buttocks fell on the sharp jade stone, which pierced his skin and made him grimace in pain.

Just as he was about to stand up to fight, a merman suddenly jumped over and stabbed a three-pronged fork into his body. He felt a chill on the right side of his chest.

He didn't feel any pain at first, and even thought about getting up and fighting the merman. But as the energy in his body was drained, he immediately felt extremely panicked and scared, so he just wanted to get up and run for his life.

He had only run a few steps when someone hit him hard on the temple. He felt dizzy and his head was buzzing. He fell to the ground again without knowing it.

Bai Yixing lay on the deck, blood from his chest all over the floor. His eyes, which had gradually lost their luster, stared at the pitch-black night sky. It turned out that there was no moon or stars tonight, and there was no light in the sky.

The northeast wind suddenly blew hard, filling my nose with the smell of blood...

It was unknown how long it had been before Bai Yixing was awakened from a nightmare of the mermaids slaughtering the people of the Snow Country. He felt a sharp pain in the right side of his chest and could not help but cough loudly.

The coughing caused the wound to move, and the pain became worse. He reached out and touched it, and it was sticky and covered in blood. Only then did he remember that he was seriously injured.

Footsteps were heard in the cabin, and a man walked in, helped Bai Yixing up and laid him down gently, saying: "Your right lung is seriously injured. It's best not to move, and don't breathe heavily. If the wound is torn again, your life will be in danger." The person who spoke was actually Qin Gang.

Bai Yixing was full of doubts and said, "Brother Qin Gang, where are we... where are we?"

Qin Gang said: "They are still in the sea, but they are out of the mermaids' territory. They won't come again."

Bai Yixing was about to speak again, but Qin Gang stopped him with a gesture. He heard him say, "You can't breathe heavily, and it's best not to talk. Your lung injury requires rest. You've been in a coma for three days, and you must be hungry. I'll bring you something to eat." After saying that, he walked out.

Bai Yixing felt unbearable pain in his chest, but he didn't dare to move, so he had to grit his teeth and endure it.

He turned his head and looked around. It turned out that he was lying in a small room. Judging from the appearance and decoration, it should be a bedroom in the cabin for ordinary sailors to rest.

There were seven or eight narrow beds in the bedroom, all of which were occupied. Their heads, limbs, or torsos were all wrapped in gray hemp cloth. The cloth was soaked in blood, and some were still dripping blood onto the floor.

Bai Yixing thought: "It turns out that these people are boatmen who escaped by chance like me. My life was saved, but what about the cargo on those ships? What should I do with so many boatmen who died..."

Not long after, Qin Gang heated up a bowl of soup and placed it in front of Bai Yixing, saying, "Eat something, maybe you'll get better faster."

Bai Yixing had no appetite at all. He just stared blankly at the ceiling and muttered, "It's all gone, it's all over..." Tears flowed uncontrollably, and then he started coughing violently, coughing up bloody foam.

Qin Gang frowned, put the soup aside, stood up with his hands behind his back, and said, "You are a man from the Snow Country, how can you be so useless? You only lost some property, but luckily you are still alive, why are you crying?"

After a pause, he continued, "The rudder of our ship has been smashed by the Black Sea Shark King, and the sails and oars are also broken. We can't control it now. In the past few days, we have been sailing southwest along the ocean current and wind direction. We don't know when we will encounter land or an island. I'm afraid everyone will die in the sea. If we really can't survive by then, it's not too late for you to cry."

Bai Yixing coughed for a long time and spat out several mouthfuls of blood before he slowly stopped coughing and asked, "Then...what should we do?"

Qin Gang sighed heavily and said, "Whether you live or die, it's up to God. What else can I do? I saved eleven of you in total. Three of you died of serious injuries in the past few days. I'm afraid two or three more will die in a few days. How many of the eight people can survive in the end depends entirely on your own luck."

Bai Yixing had some questions in his mind. He wanted to ask why he was not seen in the battle with the mermaids, and how he saved eleven people. But when Qin Gang turned around, his eyes suddenly flashed and disappeared, and he was immediately frightened. Besides, speaking would affect the wound on his lungs, which was extremely painful, so he had to hold back and not say anything.

Qin Gang seemed to be able to see through his thoughts and said, "You are wondering why I asked you why you didn't come up after you went down the cabin, and how I rescued you from the Black Sea Shark King, right?"

Bai Yixing nodded.

Qin Gang said calmly, "There are some things you'd better not know. You remain your master, and I remain my passenger. If we can still return to Xihai City, we should all go our separate ways and stop interacting with each other. Let's just pretend that what happened these days never happened."

Bai Yixing heard that Qin Gang's words were unpleasant, so he ignored him and closed his eyes, pretending to rest.

Although he was lucky enough to save his life, he still felt bad about the destruction of his fleet. His ambitions before setting out to sea had vanished. He was injured and bled a lot over the past few days, and he felt dizzy and couldn't concentrate. He fell asleep soon after.
